Their champong is not authentic. Soup tastes like instant ramen powder. Veggies are soggy, cooked in bulk in advance. Ho hum.

Jong Won Paik's Noodle House on Olympic is a gem, even as part of a well-known franchise by the famous Korean chef. This particular location holds a special place in my heart, with its convenient parking and welcoming atmosphere. The jjajangbap is a standout dish--it's a hearty, flavorful black bean sauce served over rice, topped with a perfectly cooked omelette. The combination is both comforting and rich, with the silky egg soaking up the savory sauce. To take it up a notch, it comes with a side of jjampong soup, which is a spicy, seafood-packed broth that's loaded with noodles, tender squid, mussels, and shrimp. The balance of heat and umami from the broth pairs beautifully with the rich, smoky jjajangbap, making it a perfect meal. Honestly, both their jjajangmyeon and jjampong are stellar on their own. The flavors are bold, and the spice level is just right, giving that fiery kick but never overpowering the taste. Add to that the amazing service--fast, efficient, and super friendly--making this spot a must-visit.

My partner was craving jajangmyun, I was craving soup - and a yelp search led us to this spot. --- FOOD: ----- Jajangmyun - 6/10 Pros: Just the right amount of sauce to coat the noodlesCons: The thinness and chewiness of the noodles were a little off-- Spicy Seafood Jjampong - 7/10 Pros: Very flavorful with a generous serving of seafood (lots of clams) Cons: The saltiness and spiciness of the broth overshadowed the seafood flavor Portions are great for the price! I almost had enough leftover Jjampong for another meal. --- PARKING: ---Parking lot without a valet is available! There were plenty of spots around lunchtime on a Sunday. --- EXTRA NOTE: ---They charge a small fee for a takeout container if you have leftovers.--- OVERALL RATING: ---If we're ever craving noodles again and we're nearby, we'd consider coming back but I wouldn't go out of my way if there are other options.

The food was overall ok. The jampong broth was veg. based and lacked depth. It was pricier than other similar restaurants. The waitress was poorly trained. As soon as I walked in she just passed by without noticing me. And when I was about to finish charging my card on the hand held credit card processor she was asking me to return it to her before I was finished using it.

Well their champong is a good effort. It's not a classic made to order kind.I think the broth is more liked powder from a ramen sauce pkt.I think their veggies (onions, carrots and cabbage) and maybe their pork is cooked WAY in advance, felt limp, disappointing. It had a decent amt of seafood. There is self serve daikon radish and water.

There is ONE waiter and during the busiest time of night. She's working so hard right now. The food is great. I recommend the spicy chicken dish super yum. Spicy but not too spicy that you lose your taste buds. The only side dish they served was yellow pickled radish. I'm giving this a low rating simply because of the establishment's inability to provide adequate staff. The reason our table has run out of water for the past 30mins is not the waiters fault. She's very nice works so hard and tries her best. But we're paying customers. This is a system breakdown for a restaurant not a defect in food or the staff. It's the management. Poor management trickles down and customers feel the poor service. This place was the only place with NO wait line to get in tonight. Now I understand why.

The worst noodle. No meat, no seafood, only cabbages and onion in soup. I complained, but they said it can be happening sometimes. No refund or reorder. No more visit that place.

Basic, no frills menu. Portions are deceptively big. It doesn't look like it based on the size of the to-go containers, but it's a lot of noodles! One serving will satisfy a big appetite or make two meals. Our go-to here is the jajangmyun and jajang rice. The sauce here is a little bit sweeter than other noodle houses, but it's good. The jjampong is so-so: it could be spicier and have a bigger seafood flavor. But, it's still a good hearty broth. The sweet and sour pork is made with rice flour --crispy and light. The sauce is packed separately from the meat to ensure crispness of the meat. We keep coming back here because the prices are wallet-friendly, the service is fast, the employees are friendly and helpful, and the parking is easy.
