I finally got a chance to try Joyce & I'm so happy that I did! Came in today for lunch & was greeted by a happy individual (I forgot his name but he was the only one working the floor so that's not hard to figure out & his nose is pierced) service was great!! but anyways, we ordered Nashville hot catfish platter with the fries , the Mac & cheese, & the vegan chicken sandwich plate with a salad. The fish was thickkkk and nicely breaded but needed a bit more seasoning for my liking. The fries were standard, I dipped them in the Aioli so that helped. The vegan chicken sandwich was pretty good too! Buns were nice and fresh, plump lol the Mac was top tier! Cast iron, served fresh and hot. No complaints there. We tried the Punk Evan's cocktail and it was 10/10. Try it! Let the cranberry ice cubes melt a bit. The star of the visit was the peach & bourbon cobbler . 10/10 Will return for dinner menu!

First time trying here and it was just decent to me. I'm assuming the brunch may be better and have more options. I ordered some greens and had some of my mom fish that was good and tasty. The greens were ok but could have been better without the red pepper. The service was good, and our waitress was very attentive with all our needs, and told us everything that she preferred off the menu that was good. The food here is different and prepared different but I am happy that I finally tried Joyce .The ambience was the best thing going was very cute and romantic, and a very good vibe and they played really good music. I also like how the bathrooms were set up and how do you enter they were different and cute as well. Parking is very scarce but you can park on the street and I think certain places on that particular street have valet or you can park in a structure where Whole Foods is.Not sure if I will be back, but if I do come back, it will only be to try the brunch. I was saying you can come here just to try it out to see how it is. -Marshay D.

This was my first time here and the place is cute small and cozy with trendy artifacts and furniture. The service was good. The waitress was very attentive and made great recommendations. The menu was small so not many options to choose from. They don't have any baked chicken or yams. However, I ordered the fish and it was delicious. Very tasty and plentiful. I want to come back and try their brunch on the weekend. They have a nice-sized bar area where you can eat also. Note: They have outdoor seating. You can find Valet parking on the street or park in parking lots. I parked in the lot where Whole Foods was and validated my ticket inside Whole Foods and only had to pay $10 versus $40 if I did not get a validation.

Loved it! We were able to reserve a party of 11 for a Sunday afternoon at 1p. So I loved that we could do that via OpenTable. There is an open and airy ambiance, and the decor is somewhat neutral and soft. Nick was our server and was great. We did have to wait a bit, but it wasn't an uncomfortable or overly long wait between his visits. It also appeared that he and maybe 1 or 2 servers were handling the entire place. We ordered a plethora of items to start, and they were all excellent; cornbread, biscuits, and fried green tomatoes. The condiments for the biscuits were a little iffy, primarily because the jelly is a spicy/sweet combo that a few of us did not enjoy. The sparkling wine / champagne used for the mimosa had a good taste to it and did not give us headaches, so that's a plus! The OJ and pomegranate I've cubes were an excuse touch as well. I will say the entrees fell short for many of us. We had chicken and waffles, French toast and shrimp and grits. Everyone said these items were just okay, which was a little surprising considering how good our starters were. The chicken was a little dry and locked seasoning. The waffle had something missing - it was too oily for some reason and lacked flavor. The French Toast had a hard consistency and did not have much flavor either. One person did enjoy the sausage, gravy, and biscuits. The portion looked small, but he said it was fine. It came with 4 of the same bite-sized biscuits used for the starter. We also ordered the mac n cheese, and it was top-notch! I've never had chives in my Mac n cheese, but it worked. It comes in a small cast iron skillet and was hot! Overall, excellent dish. The greens were just okay. All in all, we had a great experience and would still go back, despite the entree let down. A few in our party have visited before and noted this visit fell short of their prior experiences, so we'd have to give it another shot. This is worth a try!

The ambiance is really nice here. It's small and cozy with elegant appointments and comfortable sidewalk dining. Despite being late for our reservation, we were seated immediately. Our waiter Rob was absolutely AMAZING!! He was friendly, polite, attentive, and responsive. And I always appreciate a waiter who knows their menu. The food was delicious except for the Mac n Cheese. I would not order it again. Shrimp n grits were pretty good with a nice amount of shrimp and the brown sauce was delicious. My friend loves the short ribs. She said they were tender and flavorful. We want to come back and try the brunch. I do recommend Joyce's.

Finally made it to Joyce, and it didn't disappoint! I knew what I wanted prior to dining because I stalked this Yelp page looking at all the yummy photos. My husband and I ordered/shared the roast beet salad, cornbread, Mac n cheese, fried catfish, and cobbler for dessert. Everything was good but my favorite was the cornbread and Mac n cheese. So damn good!We will definitely be back.

Joyce has been on my list for a while, and I'm so grateful that I was finally knock it off of my list with my dear coworker friend. The restaurant opens at 5pm for dinner, so we were just about the first people there. But it did start to fill up later in the evening, so I recommend making a reservation for any day of the week. The interior was beautifully decorated for Christmas and felt very cozy. It was very festive and I loved the close attention to detail in their decorations, like the Christmas train on the table! It felt very welcoming! Our server was attentive and checked in on us appropriately. We didn't try their Christmas cocktails but did order a few of their food items:- Peruvian scallops (4) - they were ok, slightly disappointing. I found it a bit bland, a touch of sea salt might've brought out the flavors more - cast iron Mac and cheese ($21) - for the price, I expected delicious cheese flavors, and yes, that's what I got. It was a fancy Mac and cheese with generous cheesy flavors cooked and melted properly. It met my expectations. - Maple butternut squash - I know it has 'maple' in the name but it was overwhelmingly sweet for me. First bite was delicious, then after several more bites, I was kind of over it.- Blue crab gratin - this was probably my favorite dish. I liked the home-made crunchies that came with it, and it was a nice texture between the gratin and the crunch. - Beignets - these were piping hot when they came out. It came with tres leches dip and jam, I personally liked the jam more! These were quite generous in portions, so definitely share-worthy. It was a nice paring with my espresso, which adorably was served to me in a festive Santa (who unfortunately had a chipped nose!)Overall, it was a lovely dining experience with my friend. The interior's festive decoration really made this place feel cozy and heart-warming. I'll likely come back here a second time if they change up their menu a bit.

Came for DineLA Restaurant Week. They don't advertise their special at all. When we asked for the menu, instead of getting us a menu, he waitress tried to remember what was on it but she wasn't very accurate with the items. We grabbed a copy online instead.-Cornbread: This was good but standard.-Cast Iron Mac&Cheese: I liked this one! It's a good non-fancy mac&cheese.-Bloomsdale Spinach Salad: Not a fan. It was overdressed and the spinach leaves needed to be smaller.-Whole Fried Game Hen Plate: Liked the bits of lavender but the hen was overcooked. But I guess the honey helped with that.-Banana Custard Pie: This was pretty good, if you like coconut, the crust wasn't my favorite though.

The best short rib I have ever had! I was taken aback by how tender it was. The plate was exquisite. The service is also very attentive. Beautiful restaurant. Amazing food. Clean parking garage right across the street, which is very convenient for people (like myself) who hate DTLA.

My organization has our holiday brunch here on a Sunday morning. Due to the size of our party we all pre-ordered our food. The menu was limited for brunch and kinda odd pairings, but I figured I'd give it a try. Most dishes were ala carte. I ordered the Nashville catfish, macaroni and cheese, cornbread and collard greens. The catfish was seasoned well, however, it didn't have the spice that I'm used to when it's deemed Nashville hot. The macaroni and cheese is served in a cast iron skillet and has a ton of different cheeses. It was tasty and I would almost say had too much cheese. The cornbread was very tasty and probably my favorite dish. Not for the greens. Unfortunately, these were very disappointing. They lacked flavor throughout. I had to add a generous portion of salt and hot sauce for them to be edible. Overall, it was slightly disappointing, but I may give them another try.
