I'm so excited that Cerritos now has a Korean hot pot (jung geol) for spicy pork bone & potato soup or Gamjatang! It's in the Sprouts Market plaza and located next to the Old Ferry Donuts. When I entered the restaurant, we were greeted by staff and were able to sit anywhere we'd like. I loved how spacious the restaurant was, and they played current & trendy k-pop music. Now to the star of the show: the Gamjatang comes in either Medium, which is 2 servings, or Large, which is 3 servings. I ordered the Medium Gamjatang and added extra pork ribs, rice cake, seasoned napa cabbage, and perilla leaves - and my goodness - the broth was so deep and rich in flavor (perfectly spiced), the meat was so tender it would just fall off the bone, and the fixings rounded out the hot pot by giving different texture and flavor. The staff set up the hot pot and also offered to sprinkle sesame seeds to give it more fragrance and flavor. I highly recommend adding the sesame seeds in the broth! Throughout the meal, staff would regularly check up and ask if we needed anything to make the hot pot experience enjoyable. I also ordered the small broiled pork slices (bossam) and seafood pancake. These dishes were great additions, but not as memorable as the hot pot. Before I finish the Gamjatang in its entirety, I always save room and some meat for the fried rice, so I did just that! The staff stirred in rice and the leftover meat and fixings, and sprinkled seaweed on top. It was a great way to finish the meal--highly recommend!I'm definitely going to come back for the Gamjatang, and I'd like to try the Soy Braised Pork Bone Stew with Vermicelli next time!

My mom mentioned this is a chain restaurant straight from Korea. They specialize in gamjatang (pork bone soup), but have other dishes you can order such as kimbap, bibimbap, tofu soup, seafood pancake, noodles etc. This restaurant took over Pot on Fire & Tea Bar located right next door to Meet Fresh. The name "hot pot" may be a bit misleading for those who are not familiar with Korean pork bone soup/stew, but I guess they decided to use "hot pot" in their restaurant name since their soups technically do come out in a pot that is cooked at the table -- along with various add-on sides you can order to cook in the soup.We came here around lunch, and the place had 3 other tables before us. As we ordered and waited, more people kept trickling in for both sit down and takeout. When we realized we never got chopsticks for the banchan, our server apologetically mentioned she missed giving us chopsticks since they have not been very busy at this time of the day. There were only two staff on the floor, so it was understandab and maybe this is a sign that the restaurant will do well? I hope so!Service and food were all good. The prices also seemed competitive esp. with today's inflation costs (except for japchae. Japchae was $20, which no Korean in their right mind would order. Tbh, I've seen other new Korean spots pricing japchae similar to this too. Just know this is way overpriced, anywhere! Lol.)They also sell soju and rice wine, which seems to be the custom in Korea to enjoy alcoholic beverages alongside the pork broth soup...at any time of the day. Haha.I would like to come back to try some of their other menu items, though I wouldn't mind getting the same seafood dolsot bibimbap again.Lastly, it's not very clear, but the yellow sauce on every table is their special soy sauce that you're supposed to dip the meat in. The soy sauce does have a bit of a kick since they added yellow mustard (gyeoja) which is kind of like Wasabi. They are open daily from 11am-10pm.

My friend and I tried this newer restaurant in the area. I love Korean food and this place really satisfied my craving. Restaurant is large, open and very clean. There are call buttons in the event you need to get the attention of your server. Upon being seated, we were given water but also ordered tea and beer. The menu is well-sized, a lot of different things to appeal to the different tastes. In particular, there is a good mix of soup options, with a nice list of add-ons to customize your soup order. We ordered the following:Onion pancake Steamed eggSpicy pork soupKimbap Soondubu with beefOnion pancake was delicious, a good size and great texture. It could have been more crispy in the center. But definitely would order again. Steamed egg came out piping hot, it's very simple but so light and fluffy and surprisingly filling. Both soups are good, although I didn't find the spicy pork soup to be particularly spicy. My friend and I both preferred the soondubu. It was flavorful and there was a generous amount of beef that itself had a great flavor. Kimbap was excellent; fresh and beautifully presented. I'd like to come back to try the dumpling soup and other items. Great place for a cold or rainy day! On this Tuesday afternoon, the parking lot wasn't busy, but on occasion it can get crazy. There's a lot of eating establishments in this area, so I truly hope this business does well.

Holy cow! This place was so good! We ordered the Chive Korean pancake and the medium sized spicy pork bone soup. The flavor of the Chive Korean pancake was not too overwhelming or too overpowering. It was just right and it is big enough to share between two people. The Spicy Pork Bone Soup was alleviating to my soul! It hugs you into a big warm hug. Don't forget to order the fried rice at the end! Everything was so tasty and flavorful. In my opinion it wasn't spicy enough, but then again I love spicy. So for someone who is not used to spice it could be spicy. The banchan were so good. You can get refills but the servers were so busy that they did not even have time to ask us if we wanted more before we were done. Overall, this place is amazing and totally worth checking out! I highly recommend doing a reservation if you go during a holiday! It can get really busy otherwise.

The worker was really nice and fast. And we were able to get some side dish refills. I really liked the pork cutlet and the seolong tang. I thought the spicy rice cake was just ok. Not too special. They really decorated it nicely and have really cute salt and pepper containers.

Decided to try this newly opened Korean restaurant and didn't disappoint at all!Disclaimer : if you like spicy food, you'd enjoy it more than I do. I don't really like spicy food so I always ask for the lowest spicy level or even mild, and I'm still struggling lol. They have 5-6 selections for combo and that's a good portion to share. Their tofu soup is different with the one you enjoy at BCD because they use their Gamjatang broth so that's a nice twist on it. We ordered Bo Ssam because we feel like eating more veggies too lol. Their kimchi is good and fresh ! Hint of sweetness , which I like. The staff are nice and it was 1 hr to closing so there's not a lot of people there. They have 2 Korean shows that you can enjoy on Tv. The vibe is welcoming!

My wifey and I went here for our dinner date since we have to try different restaurants every time haha. This place just opened and we're feeling soupy since it's a cold winter weather. This spot used to be a hot pot spot as well so the set up is already here. The ambiance felt homey and accommodating. Oh yea it's not an ordinary hot pot fosho.. more like a family style comfort food, which you need to share :) We ordered their famous hot pot for 2 people. Yeap you rarely see 1 serving hot pot around this joint. You always see family and friends sharing a big bowl of pot. The Korean hot pot was full of spices and damn that meat was so tender and melt in your mouth. An order consist of their side dishes that are found in your local kbbq too.. fish cakes, rice and different varieties of kimchis on the side. Our server told us at the end that the cook served us a large order of hot pot instead of medium size so we to-go the leftover. Haha they were so nice about it and didn't charged as extra. Overall, I'm down to go here again with family and friends :)

Holy smokes, can I give this place more than 5 stars?!We were headed to a restaurant on Christmas Eve on a whim and drove by this place and decided to stop in. I had never heard of this place but decided why not ... and I'm so glad we did! What a wonderful surprise !We ordered the medium spicy pork hot pot that is supposed to serve 2. It could easily serve 3 good eaters or 4 eaters if you add on the extras. The broth. The broth is so good. It comes out warm already and then heats up quickly on the burner. The meat bones are so juicy and the meat is so tender it falls off the bones. The meat is delicious. You don't even need to order additional sides, the OG base is hefty enough. We had no idea so we ordered extras with enthusiasm the additional mushrooms, ramen, and rice cakes added great volume to the dish and were all delicious. My belly was bursting at the end; I basically rolled out the door All the little side garnishes they bring out stack neatly on top of each other when done. I love that detail. The kimchi radish and OG kimchi were delicious. The seasoned potatoes were so good. We also ordered the mini ttopoki appetizer and added cheese and it was really good. It mirrors the additional extra we ordered (rice cakes) so that felt like a duplicate that we didn't need but I didn't know, and who cares I ate it all anyway! The service here is spectacular. They are all so kind, helpful, and the food comes out quickly. They have a button for service calls on the wall if we needed them but we never needed to use it because the service was just always so prompt. Splish splash warning! Glad I was wearing all black as I splashed the broth around trying to grab the meat bones etc. so beware it can get messy. I saw them hand out disposable bibs to some people so that's for next time What a hidden gem and what a wonderful dinner tonight. Highly recommend coming here and we will be back soon!
