Went to Joey DTLA last Friday night (Feb 21) and the service was a total vibe killer. Seriously, it felt like they were doing us a favor by even acknowledging our table--like, hello, we're here to eat and drink! We hung around till closing, but still, the staff was mad chill in all the wrong ways and totally hard to find when we would need something. Seriously, they could have made tons more money had they just been around. We had to chase someone down for our food, which was basically ghosted for like 25 minutes. Then, when we finally got someone, they were straight-up unapologetic, dropping that the kitchen had closed and they'd just reheat our food that had been sitting waiting to get delivered and never was instead of actually remaking it. Not cool, Joey DTLA, not cool. The kitchen squad deserves props, though--the reheated dishes were still pretty bomb. But the front-of-house? They were acting like service was a major inconvenience, too cool for their own jobs. Major red flag.Big shoutout to management: your late-night crew needs some serious training, or maybe a career change altogether. Overall, the food was decent, but the service left a major bad taste. Total mid experience, and honestly, I expected way more.

Made a reservation to celebrate getting engaged with a couple of friends, and honestly, I had heard mixed reviews about this restaurant. I went in warily, but still anticipating trying a new restaurant. We were greeted warmly, and we waited a couple minutes for our table be prepared, and were offered champagne while we waited (complimentary!).Looking around, the restaurant is sleek, clean, and honestly super sexy. I would definitely do a date night dinner here! Our server, I believe her name was Vanessa, was attentive and really patient with us when we asked for suggestions and asked about certain dishes. We ordered off the happy hour menu, which is offered daily from 3PM-6PM, and lightens the price burden slightly. For drinks, we got a peach Bellini, gin & tonic, Jack & Coke, and sangria. The peach Bellini wasn't too sweet, and I didn't taste the alcohol but definitely felt it.We ordered truffle parmesan fries and Korean cauliflower to share amongst the table. The cauliflower was amazing, crunchy and so deliciously sweet. Definitely a high recommendation!I ordered the Szechuan Lettuce Wraps subbed with shrimp, which is a starter, but the portion was definitely enough to fill me up on my own. It was perfectly spicy, and the shrimp was cooked well and was flavorful. My friends ordered the Bollywood Butter Chicken, Crispy Tofu Bowl, and the Tuna & Avocado Roll. From what I was able to try from all of them, everything was so good, and the butter chicken had an amazing spice that built up as you continued to eat it.The only disappointment was the truffle parmesan fries, which were super costly ($11?!) for the portion. I'm sure we paid for the truffle and Parmesan on it, but I would definitely skip this next time. All in all, I would definitely come back and try one of their entrees or more of their sushi. Joey DTLA is a beautiful restaurant with some beautiful food concepts.

Loveeee the resturant Tiffany at the front was so sweet and made sure we were taken care of. As you wait they hand you a glass of champagne/ Prosecco that you can sip on while waiting for your table. The drinks were good not super strong they could all use half a shot more but they still did a good job. The mock tails are way too sweet like absurdly too sweet. The bathrooms were unisex one has a urinal the bathrooms were the average clean. The kitchen is amazing you can see almost what's going on depending on where you are sitting. The wings were also good !

Visiting LA for meetings and just googled to find a restaurant close to our hotel... Score!Started out with a free glass of champagne, we shared an order of potstickers, and chicken lettuce wraps. Both were delicious, but the lettuce wraps were the star! The chicken isn't minced like most places, instead good sized chunks of crispy but still juicy chicken with a bomb sweet soy ginger glaze. For entrées we elected an Ahi tuna poke bowl, steak & sushi, lobster & shrimp sushi tacos and another order of the lettuce wrap chicken, but with rice instead of lettuce. The steak & sushi came with a tuna and avacado crunch roll. The steak was cooked well and tasty, the sushi roll was just okay, decent flavor but the rice was very dry, even adding soy sauce. The poke bowl was good sized and my colleague enjoyed it, once she removed the cilantro that was on it!We shared the lobster and shrimp sushi tacos, they were delicious but again for some reason had cilantro on them.Service was friendly, if a little slow because the place was packed! It did get a little noisy, but it was a fun place. Definitely recommend trying it.

We had a New Year's show to attend at the Orpheum Theatre nearby and we wanted to treat ourselves to delicious food with a great setting and this restaurant came up based on many recommendations. They DID NOT disappoint! We had reservations and while we waited they had complimentary champagne, what a cool treat! Everyone waiting was in a great mood as was the hostesses. We ordered the sea bass and a chicken Indian plate, they were both amazingly delicious! Two Dirty Martinis for me and I was an even happier camper! The ambiance was awesome, especially festive for a New Year's evening. We live in OC but definitely see ourselves visit again soon!

First time at this Joey Restaurant in DTLA and I have to say it's wasn't bad at all considering how bad Joey Restaurant in Manhatten Beach was. Food:The food was good. We ordered the crab cake, sushi tacos, fries, wings and fish tacos. We kept it simple but our friends did order other items as well. The food was fresh and got to the table in a reasonable time. I had no complaints. Good flavors but the portion size was on the small side for most of our items we ordered. Service:We got there super late (after 11pm) with a party of 6 and no reservations. They were super accommodating and put together a space for us within a couple minutes on the patio. The staff was kind and our waiter was informative about the items on the menu. He also gave us a heads up that the kitchen was closing soon so we kicked our orders into the gear and ordered everything at once. Great job on giving us some time to order everything we wanted. He also checked on us throughout our time there.Atmosphere:Cool vibe, nothing fancy, it was a good time and a great place to chill and have some table top conversations with friends. Our surrounding space was full of conversations laughter and smiles. Good vibe overall. The heat lamps kicked ass on the patio.Price:Unfortunately, the prices don't match the portion size and quality of food you get. It's definitely on the higher end. If your like my wife and me there are so many places that top this restaurant when it comes to price vs. Quality and proteins. It just is what it is.Location:It's located down town at 700 West 7th St. On the cornerTip: parking is horrendous and there is no parking next to the restaurant unless the parking gods open a spot on the street which never happens. We parked 4 blocks away and walked.
