3.5 stars for good food and service. There was no wait on a weeknight at 5 pm. Massive portions helped justify the cost. My bf and I paid $80 after tax and tip for 2 drinks and 2 entrees. I made 2.5 meals out of the leftovers. My favorite part of the meal was the banchan. Both the kimchi and radish were lightly fermented, sweet, and mildly sour and spicy. The spinach and tofu dish was umami with a hint of sesame flavor. The onions and jalapenos were good, not too salty. - Soju Highball with Korean Tangerine ($9.95). Although the alcohol was nonexistent, the drink was absolutely delicious. It tasted fresh and sweet, thanks to the candied tangerine peels. - Sweet Potato Cheese Curry Katsu ($25.95). I enjoyed this dish. The katsu was extremely crispy. The fluffy and intensely sweet mashed Korean sweet potato paired well with the cheese. I thought the pork tasted a little bland, but the flavor of the meat was better the next day. The mild curry had a sweeter flavor profile. It was served on the watery side to account for the hot stone bowl. The curry tasted better as it reduced and thickened to a more standard consistency. However, it reduced too much and became a bit salty. I would have preferred just the rice in the stone bowl with curry on the side.- Tteokbokki ($16.95 + $3 cheese add on). It was not bad, though a bit too soupy for me. The mild spicy red sauce was sweet and a little smoky. The rice cakes were chewy and on the softer side. I could have used more fish cake an cabbage. Furthermore, I would have preferred the cheese to be broiled normally in the kitchen. Instead, it was torched table side, which resulted in uneven browning and insufficient melting. At least the portion of the cheese was fair.- Hotteok ($3.95). I liked the dough; it was crispy and chewy and not too oily. But where was the brown sugar? I was saddened by the lack of filling. And the squirt of black sugar syrup at the bottom of the cup tasted like chocolate sauce. I was not a fan.

Stopped here randomly when I was in the area. Service was quick, but I had an issue with my server lying to me. I liked the simple decor they had throughout. It was cute without feeling like they were crowding the place with junk. Unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing to my guy and me especially for the price. We started out with the Marinated Dumplings, which was both our favorite dishes. It was very flavorful and the texture was great! We also tried their Bibimbap Hot Stone and Jin Cook Kal-guksu. The ingredients for the bibimbap were very wet/slimy, especially the seaweed salad, bean sprouts, and the mushrooms. My guy ended up eating all of it on his own, even though he wasn't a fan, because it was too gross to me. I ended up eating more of the kal-guksu, but it was very bland and I didn't get any brisket. When I asked the server about it, he pointed to my fish cake on a skewer and said that was brisket. Sir. I know the difference between brisket and fish cake. They are nowhere close to each other and I'm not stupid. The dumplings were passable, but still lacked flavor.

I've been wanting to come and try out this place for some time now. The perfect opportunity arose when I was going to meet a friend who wanted to eat in Glendale and she said I can choose where to eat. She's NEVER had Korean food, so this was the perfect time for us both. There were so many yummy choices to choose from. I decided to try out the Spicy Tofu Stew. There are different levels of spiciness. I chose not to be that spicy, and it was very good, but I think I can go a little spicier next time. The bowl came out steaming out and boiling so I added my raw egg quickly. My friend chose what the waiter recommended which was the Bibimbap Hot Stone. She had some left over afterwards, I did not.The service was very good. They checked on us often and made sure our water glasses were filled instead of waiting for us to ask for water. Ambiance is quite nice. Kinda small, so we had a little bit of a wait before being seated, but it gave us a chance to catch up. The sitting area/waiting area can get kind of crowded. Not too many places to sit while waiting to be seated. They don't take reservations. I parked in the 90 minutes free parking structure which was a short walk away. My friend was able to find free street parking which was also a short walk. I would definitely come back.

Delicious Korean food in Glendale!I came here on a Monday night and it was pretty busy. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated and people kept coming in until 10:20 PM!I wish the restaurant was a little bigger, but nonetheless, the service and food is amazing. We got the fried dumplings to start off and they were delicious! They were coated in a sweet/spicy sauce and your first bite is super juicy. It came with 5 pieces. I got the pork katsu curry and it came in a large hot stone with rice, curry, and katsu pork. The curry was very rich in flavor and the rice was extra sticky (my fave). My friend got a tofu soup and added an egg. It was flavorful and came with a side of white rice. This restaurant is on the pricier, but the wait, and everything is worth it.

I'm visiting home and wanted to find a Korean spot around this area and thought this would be a perfect dinner spot for a chill Friendsmas! I came on a Saturday night around 8 and was able to be seated really quickly. Only sat for a couple minutes before being called for a table! There were 5 of us and the table we were seated at fit us quite well. Workers were super friendly and attentive to what we needed. The portions of the dishes were fulfilling for all of us and were definitely kept warm the entire time. They gave the options of spicy levels in which we were all satisfied with. I personally loved the spicy pork hot stone that had a very rich taste to the dish along with rice! One dish that wasn't captured was the chicken katsu curry, and all of us who tried were a big big fan! Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

Overall enjoyed my experience here! Got the jalapeño cheese katsu and the garlic suyuk, both very well put together, flavorful, and hearty. Also had a side of marinated dumplings, those were good but it tasted like your typical frozen rectangular dumplings tossed in a soy based sauce. Not necessarily unique.I'd say you can count on the food being good, but it is a pricier Korean restaurant. You can definitely find cheaper Korean food even in the LA area, but if you want larger portions of dishes that have a slight twist, this is a good place to try. Tried the hotteok for dessert and that is a skip for me, it was not juicy enough for me personally. Service is typical and nice! The restaurant itself is a small/medium size restaurant, good for small parties/dates. Would say it is casual, but maybe very very slightly above casual if anything.

Been to Jin Cook like 3 times now. Very solid korean comfort food spot. I've tried their curry katsu and the soondooboo. Both were very top notch. The parking is okay here. Basically street parking and small lots. Friday and weekends can get tough to get a spot. Maybe a loop or two shall do it.Service is decent. They seem understaffed sometimes. Food came out quick though. Side dishes were very good. I wish they give the stone pot rice with the soondooboo like many other korean spots do.Would come back again. They're opening one in Little Tokyo, so I can't wait til that location opens up.

Food: 5Service: 5 Ambiance: 5This place is so good it would likely be a last meal type of restaurant. I don't think there is a limit to how much I adore this restaurant. Took some friends here to try it out and they are firm fans now. If you're not sure what to try just ask your server and I promise you won't be disappointed. My go tos are the rose tteokbokki and their stews.

The food here is Korean soul food, i.e. comfort food. If you are having a bad day, anything on the menu can lift up your spirits.First of all, the banchan (little appetizer dishes) is delicious. You get four: garlic spinach, soy onions, kimchi, and radish kimchi. I almost filled up on the banchan themselves because they were so good, but managed to stop myself before our main entrees arrived. For the main entrees, we tried and enjoyed:* Galbi tang (beef short rib soup)* Pork and rice soup* Garlic suyuk (pork belly in milky beef bone broth with lots of ground garlic and a sweet paste)* Bulgogi and rice in a hot stone plateThese are what you want for Thanksgiving...not turkey.
