I've been coming to this place for eons now....their other location on valley is closed now.....Overall this place is clean consistent and nothing is ever wrong...it is kind of hidden and I think business used to be more bustling.....I just got the veggie miso with the veggie combo almost all the timeIt is one of my go to places for shabu.Service was good and the place is generally clean.I'll be back as I always have!!!!

This is just their lunch deal: The $17.99 lunches was kind of disappointing. There were only 5 slices of their beef and the amount of glass noodle was pretty sad. The guy that was serving me was nice, but trying to get their attention was just difficult. The saving grace is that we can take the soup to go. I have more meat and veggies at home so imma finish it up with their soup. That and a free cup of tea.

Service was good. Food was pretty regular. My seafood essence soup base was good but hubby's Mongolian herbal base was kinda blah. We got the 'regular' entree and which came with more vege. The Japanese sesame sauce was the most watered down I've tried.

I forgot to make a review of this place and take pictures but man I enjoyed myself! I really loved the broth I got which was spicy miso and I got that deal where you get like a broth, sauce, meat of your choice for like 24.99 or something like that I could be wrong again because I went here two months ago so yeah for my first time it was great! I remember it being filled with people but towards the back because you couldn't see them from how tall the seats were from the booths haha the service was great! We were taken care of well except for them forgetting my straw but it's just a straw. Overall I enjoyed jazz cat and I think next time when I go I'm gonna get the all you can eat option when I feeling more peckish! Then I'll update again with pictures this time haha.

It was a cold night, and I wanted some kind of soup for dinner. My boyfriend and I initially went to Boiling Point but they had a long wait so we came here instead. I was able to get on their waitlist from the Yelp app as we drove over, and we were seated almost immediately when we arrived. The front was hidden and the parking lot was cramped. You probably wouldn't find it if you weren't looking for it. If you haven't been here before, you pick your protein, soup base, and a sauce. My boyfriend ordered the Angus Beef T-Rex ($25.45) which comes with more meat, with the Japanese Miso broth and Japanese Sesame sauce, with Vermicelli (additional $1) instead of the rice. I had a Premium Pork Regular ($24.45) which comes with more veggies, with the Tomato broth and Japanese Sesame sauce with the rice it came with, and gave my boyfriend some of my rice. Sharing is caring. We also shared a side of the Golden Fish Balls ($10.50).The broth wasn't as flavorful as tomato from other shabu places I've been to, and my premium pork didn't look too premium. At least the portion was huge and we both had enough food to togo for a subsequent meal each. Service was really neglective. We asked 2 different servers for napkins and didn't get it the whole time we were there. We also had to waive someone down for the check. Not my first choice, just like how it wasn't our first choice to begin with, but it's not bad if I want quick and easy shabu where I don't have to wait.

Went to Jazzcat on a Friday night. To avoid long wait times, you can join the waitlist through Yelp. I ordered the sukiyaki broth with lamb. For the sauce, I got the Thai satay and bean curd which were both salty. The bean curd sauce tastes exactly like fermented bean curd tofu, which can be found in your local Asian store. Although the broth tasted good, it was difficult to get service with the narrow hallways.

I was here 2 months ago that I forgot to leave a review. This place deserves less than one star! First, food is so-so, everything is soggy because they served it already cooked then they place it to the burner for it to be warm. The meat is not tender probably because it has been cooked for awhile prior to serving it to us. But since me and my friend was soo tired from workout, we would rate it as an okay meal for it's price.IT'S literal 3 small pieces of meat and some cabbages as design? We were still hungry, should've opted for the AYCE but it was not explained to us well. Anyway, we wanted more meat since 3 tiny bits of meat was not enough so we don't mind ordering more. No one was checking on us, so I went to the the front to order which is fine. But this asian lady was so rude out of nowhere????? She was like, "I TOLD YOU I TOLD YOU it's only noodles soup." At first, I took the benefit of the doubt that maybe it's just her usual tone, but she continued to disregard our request when in the first place she never explained the combos well and the AYCE. Like why can't you take our additional order This only young male server apologized to us and tried to make up for it but this lady continued to be rude to us until the end of our meal for no apparent reason. The ambiance and place is okay. I would not recommend. There are several hotpot places, it's literally sprouting hotpot restos nearby. No one deserves this unnecessary treatment.

I remember back in like 2015 when this was THE spot to get shabu shabu, so it was nice stopping by here twice within the last two years. The decor in here is a bit dark and drabby but I think that's the aesthetic they were going for. They were ala carte for as long as I can remember, so it was super exciting to see that they now offer an AYCE menu! I will say though, their menu is quite limited in both proteins and vegetable options. On the other hand, their soup base selection is probably the largest one I've ever seen! The service here was super friendly and they always check up on you throughout the meal. I got the sukiyaki broth, and loved the angus meat. I paired mine with some enoki mushrooms, udon, and onions. Perhaps my friend and I should have opted for ala carte because we barely were able to finish two plates each. The parking lot isn't super large and is shared with a handful of other businesses but we were lucky to find a spot close to the restaurant. It wasn't super busy when we arrived on a Sunday around noon, but it looks like they do have a a Yelp waitlist if you wanted to join online.

I live in San Diego but visit the 626 often either with friends or with family and this is one of my favorite spots to eat! The service is always on point, I've never been disappointed by their soups, vegetables are super fresh, the meat is great quality, and all for a very reasonable, if not cheap, price. My go-to combo is spicy pork bone broth, T-Rex angus beef, with ponzu, sesame and satay sauces. Of course also got to add all the extras (green onion, garlic, and cilantro). I've also enjoyed the seafood essence, and Japanese miso soups! Sometimes I order instant ramen or golden fish ball with roe on the side as well. For $25, I'm able to fill myself up plus take my leftovers to-go for a second meal! It's all worth it and I can't wait to come back whenever I'm around again.

I finally got the chance to try this hot spot restaurant!I recommend checking in on Yelp prior to arriving to the restaurant so your wait time is less. I came on a Friday night, and we were first on the list to be seated, but it still took about a 20 minute wait to be seated. In addition, there was another party that was seated before us which was kind of odd.Other than that, they took our order fast and the soup and toppings came out really fast too. I like this place because they're individual pots per person and you get to choose your soup base. They have over 10 soup bases to choose from, many different meats, and sauces to choose from. The booths are kind of tight if you have a party of 5-6, but when I went it was just my friend and I so we had plenty of room. The restaurant is pretty dark and the booths are high. The restaurant is narrow and feels like an endless hallway.I went ahead and tried the hot Thai soup base, beef as my choice of meat, and Japanese sesame dipping sauce.I was not a big fan of the soup base, it was really spicy and had a little bit of sour taste to it. It is not your typical Tom Yum soup base though. My friend got the Curry base and I thought that was interesting as a soup base, but I actually really enjoyed it and would come back for that. Along with your beef, or choice of meat, they give you napa cabbage, squash, bokchoy, fish ball, imitation crab, zucchini, vermicelli noodles, and a side of rice.I think the pricing is reasonable for what you get. They also offer AYCE pricing now! We were informed that is something new they started recently.
