Hungry! We were hungry! We finished a pleasant visit to The Hammer (the museum, not the tool). Then we realized that we were hungry! In fact, I was getting a little woozy. What to do? In similar situations, I usually spin the Yelp wheel, find a well-regarded location and order something yummy. But in my somewhat dazed condition it fell to my wife to guide us. Randomly, we arrived at this restaurant. I looked up at the sign and vaguely mumbled "I like dim sum. " My wife replied "yes you do, now let's get you some to eat." She guided me inside. And then I woke up like a shot--they had vegetarian bao! I can never find vegetarian bao. Short story long, the food was really good. The staff were pleasant. The place clean. And I recovered sufficiently to write this note. Now it is time for a nap. Take care.

I tried the food here at a corporate party I was invited to. The food was delicious. They have many options to choose from. My favorites are the pickled cucumbers, pan fried chicken dumplings, scallion pancakes, & pork & shrimp siu mai. The prices are very reasonable, and the customer service is great. Because of the proximity to my office, I will definitely be a repeat customer.

I've only ordered takeout from this spot, and every time it has been absolutely delicious! I've tried:Garlic Noodles: served cold with pickled cucumber and onion-so addictive!Char Siu BBQ pork-perfectly seasoned and tender Shrimp wonton with chili oil-can be ordered fried or steamed. Both are luscious pillows of shrimp-filled goodness with a nice bite of spice. Fried shrimp balls-surprisingly light with a lovely crispy coating Fried sesame balls-my favorite Dim Sum dessert, can't go wrong! This is my favorite, go-to place for Dim Sum in Westwood.

Always solid, with self service kiosks with photos for ordering and the fastest dim sum preparation in the area by far. All of the most popular items such as steamed juicy pork dumplings, pan fried turnip cakes, and pork buns are available, but they also offer some sleeper items such as freshly baked pineapple custard buns which are really amazing. Pricing is great, and unless you're really looking to sit in a restaurant and order from traditional dim sum carts, ixlb is a really great choice for take out.

Love the setup of this restaurant! They have tablets ready to place your order and tables outside. No indoor dining. Veggie Dumplings - This was my favorite thing off of everything we ordered. The filling was so tasty, I wish I had ordered more! 10/10Springs Rolls - Overall taste was good but maybe a little too heavy on the mushrooms. It was slightly on the greasier side too. 7/10Chinese Broccoli - Big chunks of broccoli with thick stems. Wish there were more leafy bits but it tasted great and perfectly steamed! 8/10Chow Mein - Probably won't order this one again. It tasted kinda bland and there were little veggies. 5/10Our food came out timely and everything was so reasonably priced! They also have a ton of vegetarian/vegan options! Everything is pretty much available to customize too. Love!

How do you pronounce this business? 9LB? iXlb? Is it latin? Aztec? Taiwaztec? I don't know but I love it. Just visited this restaurant for the first time and left totally blown away. I ordered the Taiwanese cabbage, the vegetarian baos, and the steamed seafood pearls, and omg the food is so fresh. The steamed seafood pearls are the best: juicy and bouncy. The taste is beyond. The cabbage and the baos need a little dressing up with the sauce, but overall super fresh and healthy. I ordered to go and Jenny at the front was really nice in explaining the menu to me. Will definitely come back to try the fried dumplings and different baos. A++ recommend. One note: they do use a lot of plastic. I'm aware that a lot of the food is steamed and comes out super hot. Maybe there's a different type of serving set they could phase to in the future that is less harmful for the environment.

I went here for dim sum for the Lunar New Year and was not disappointed. It can be hard to find decent dim sum on the Westside, but this is a good spot! It's not traditional dim sum from the carts, but it gets the job done. You order at a counter and the food comes out pretty fast. There's lots of seating outside. I got an assortment of baked sausage buns, bao, siu mai, steamed egg custard bun, and char siu. Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed my meal here.Parking wasn't too challenging on the street in Westwood.

I enjoy coming here and it is always a vibe. It is so difficult to be selective when you are hungry, so I ordered a large selection to make sure that I would take home different choices. I ended up getting the Xiao Long Bao, Cha Siu Bao, Chicken Siu Mai, and a side of rice. The Xiao Long Bao consisted of 5 pieces of juicy pork dumplings where each had ground pork, ginger, garlic, scallion, and cabbage. There were 3 pieces for the Cha Siu Bao, which was a chopped BBQ honey roast pork bao. I also got the usual Chicken Siu Mai, which had 4 pieces filled with chicken ginger, and sweet corn covered by an egg wrap. It was all so warm and tasty and every time I come here, I am reminded of when we used to frequent similar spots when I was a child and when we would have these items here and there at family parties!

I give the fast service a five star rating however I give the flavor and taste of the food a zero star rating so I am averaging to 2.5 stars and rounding to 3 stars. My food was ordered on an iPad and prepared very quick. I got the pork dumplings, garlic noodles and house made chili oil. The garlic noodles were very bland and I couldn't taste any garlic, it was such a waste. The dumplings were kinda dry and also lacked flavor. I tried dipping them in the chili oil but sadly the oil wasn't spicy and was very mild. The restaurant gives you packets of chili oil (which is much better tasting) and soy sauce packets so there is no need to buy their house made versions. Overall the food was not well flavored and unsatisfying

Finally, dim sum in Westwood is not a fantasy. At the same time, I want to keep your expectation in check. It's a traditional dim sum experience, with freshly prepared dishes on carts that offer instant gratification for the diners. At Ixlb, you order the dishes ahead, most likely from a kiosk, and wait 10-15 minutes for them to be delivered in togo containers at an outdoor dining area. I get it, this workflow streamlines the process of food delivery and payment, and it cuts down staff time and ordering errors. Nevertheless, being responsible for so many plastic containers does make me feel guilty. The foods themselves are good. They weren't the best, but I wasn't expecting getting the best dim sum in Westwood either. Each dish tasted authentic and traditional. The shrimp chive dumplings were flavorful and fresh, and the daikon cakes were crispy and fragrant. They came with small packs of soy sauce and chili oil, but I wish the house special sauce would be supplied without extra cost.I brought my dog with me and we sat in the corner. Unfortunately, my dog still barked at the server a few times. It's not the server's fault, but she looked visibly shaken by the barks from a cute dog.
