My favorite brunch place in town. I always sit outside, which is always a lovely experience in their wide open plaza. The menu is the basic classics which are very good. I generally get the chicken Parmesan with pasta, short rib, or if I'm feeling the breakfast either huevos rancheros or the eggs Benedict. Lovely cocktails as well. I love their Bloody Mary la as well!

I've driven by this place sooo many times and after seeing such good reviews, I finally decided to give it a try. Honestly, I'm really confused about the people who rave about it. Definitely not bad, but extremely underwhelming, and with so many great food spots in Los Angeles, I don't see why anyone would frequent this oneMy main disappointment here is that none of the food we got was seasoned at all. Came here for brunch and ended up ordering the Cali Eggwich, which didn't have any flavor. The eggs, the avocado, the fries on the side...all tasted like nothing. I thought that it was just what I ordered that had no flavor, because that can happen with stuff like eggs and avocado, but my boyfriend ended up saying the same thing about his meal. Nothing was seasoned. The service wasn't bad, but again, confused about the rave reviews about great service because we barely ever saw our server. This place has potential to be good with some good that's better seasoned, but for now, I wouldn't come back.

There's both the good and the bad reviews everywhere you go. We found this place on Yelp And reviews all seemed good. Gave it a shot to try it out and see for ourselves. First off, there's valet parking, street parking is available but it's a bit away from the restaurant as the Main Street is no parking. We checked in with the hostess who was also out waiter, nice guy. It was like pick a seat as they were open. Asked if we could have the table in the sun but he said no as it's a table for 6. Ok, so we got seated elsewhere. Throughout the whole meal, that table sat empty the entire time which made no sense if we sat there or not.We started with a glass of mimosa but then changed it to the bottle as price was more reasonable versus getting a glass. As it was brunch, I ordered the all American. But found out that they were out of pancakes so asked if they could just do French toast instead. Which he said was fine, but later found out it was an extra charge. You would think they would have mentioned that while ordering or just substitute it as they were out of what normally comes with it. Also the avocado toast, it was good but could have come with more avocado and less salad. And a side of fries, which was probably the best thing we ordered.Service was ok, nothing major to rave about. Compared to our waiter who was barely here and there. Others were friendly, took the initiative to make sure your drinks were full. Poured their champagne into empty glasses and so on. He was just whatever. Overall, service could have been better. Food was ok. Didn't like the extra charge without notice even when they were out of what was meant to be. Would have been fine if we were told about substituting and extra fee.

Service was amazing. The ambiance is perfect. There's seating outside and inside and near the bar area as well! The drink menu is robust. The plates we liked: French toast, tuna burger, fried chicken sandwich, and huevos divorciados. All delicious!! The plates we did not like so much: The chilaquiles had way too much cream on them and the red sauce was not red saucing. It tasted like canned enchilada sauce. Also, the chicken and waffles were marginal at best. The chicken needed seasoning and the waffles were a tad soggy. Nonetheless, we had a great time. I will be back to try other things. I hope I like them and will update this review!

We have eaten here many times and always loved it. Maybe a change in cook staff but our lunch today was very underwhelming . The calamari came out in a huge dish but very little calamari to speak of - it was all batter. Next the fish tacos. Again? Great presentation but a LOT of batter with just a bit of fish inside and the fish was undercooked and had zero flavor. There was way too much sweet relish on top so the tortilla was soggy and fell apart . The whole experience let us pretty confused. A complete 180 to our regular experience. Maybe it was just not our day there. The wait staff was excellent as always . I wouldSay read other reviews and skip the fish tacos.

Came here a few more times... no bueno. I had the country fried steak with potatoes. The potatoes were SO salty that it was inedible. My friend had the omelette with potatoes and it was the same situation. I tried to ask for fries instead but they stopped taking orders. They gave me fruit instead which is healthier lol. I had the grilled tuna salad before and i also thought it was salty too. I'm not trying to be salty! As a Filipina our cuisine tends to be on the saltier side. So if i think something is salty, then there's a problem.

We went on a Wednesday night before a comedy show at the Elysian theater. They seemed understaffed, but the servers were kind and the open mic night was a lot of fun! My machaca burrito was underseasoned, but my friends had some good fish dishes. My buddy Rachel recommends pairing an Elysian beer with the blackened salmon salad! I would recommend finding street parking if possible, or plan to park in the tandem spots with a friend. I would try this place again, but would definitely order differently.

A really cute space to have a few cocktails for a casual date night or with friends. I've seen this establishment pop up on yelp for brunch and I definitely wanna try it one of these days!Me and my partner were killing time waiting for my cat's procedure to finish so this was one of our options that was close by the animal hospital. We arrived around 5:45pm on a Friday and it was relatively serene in the outdoor area (we brought our dog). We were seated promptly and the server was also nice enough to bring a little water bowl for my fur baby. We decided to get two entrees and two glasses of wine, I got a Chardonnay and my partner got Sauvignon Blanc. We decided on the Chicken Marsala Pasta & Fish and Chips to share. Both dishes were solid. The marsala was very flavorful and creamy. The fish and chips were also very good! It was battered perfectly so there was a nice crunch and the fish was still moist and tender on the inside. My only lament is that I wish the fish to chip ratio was a little more even, I had a mountain of chips with three pieces of fish. Still, it was very tasty and would definitely order it again! Overall, solid experience for a quick date night. I will definitely try their brunch the next time!

Ordered the red chilaquiles, over medium egg with steak. Chilaquiles were decent but lacking spice, the steak was the worst part having no seasoning whatsoever so for $12 i wish i wouldve just said no protein and the eggs were more on the over hard side with no seasoning as well. Wife had the pancakes and there was more flavor on the water than those things. OJ is from a juice box which isn't even a good one. Definitely not impressed with this place. Oh and parking is $6. Service was decent but felt rushed having arrived at 253pm and they close at 4pm worker said we had to order fast cause kitchen was closing. I guess. Definitely won't come back. Ihop/Dennys are much better options sadly.

i'm not sure what is going on with Ivanhoe, but they seem to be on the decline. Their menu has taken a drastic downsizing and last time I was there there were hardly any patrons on a Sunday brunch. They no longer carry any vegetarian/vegan fake meat options which is a bummer for me. The breakfast menu has been reduced to about 12 items. The food was still tasty, but the choices were limited.
