I'm so glad my buddy suggested Iroha Sushi of Tokyo. I'd been meaning to try this place for a while, and it didn't disappoint! From the outside, it looks like a small spot, but once you step inside, it's surprisingly spacious.Their menu is loaded with variety--whether you're into chicken, meat, or raw fish, they've got something for you. Perfect for non-fish eaters too! As for the sushi, it was solid, and I'll definitely be coming back. The highlight, though? The chef whipped up a spicy habanero ponzu sauce for us, and let me tell you, it was insanely hot and out-of-this-world delicious. If you're in the area, give this place a shot. Your taste buds will thank you!

Japanese Dinner at Iroha Sushi:-Crispy Rice Cakes-Yellowtail Belly & Tuna Sushi-Pink Panther Roll-Baked Crab in Soy Paper Handroll-Baked black Cod RollMeal was good just with all the Sushi options we have in the Valley you can find much better and for less. This meal cost $116 before tip. If I knew it would cost that much I would have chosen an Omakase meal somewhere else.

Iroha Sushi is an unassuming gem tucked away behind a small driveway & one sign. The sushi has been consistently top notch for many years. The quality of the fish is always outstanding & super fresh. The variety of rolls and creative menu offerings is a mind blower. We used to frequent their sister restaurant Cafe Sushi for 20 yrs before it closed in 2015. Thank God Iroha was there to continue providing the highest quality & delicious sushi in LA. The ramen soups are also excellent so tons of great items to choose from. There is so much on the menu we still like to try something new each time even after all these years. Again the consistency & freshness is amazing and we can't find another sushi restaurant that comes close.

Enjoyed a couples dinner here -- they have valet parking and we were seated for our reservation right away. The place is cozy and the tables are packed in. The casual vibe is a converted office or even home with high ceilings. The staff is friendly and were sporting fun sushi themed t shirts. The tuna appetizer with potato cake was terrific as were our rolls and nigiri. Fresh, tasty and well portioned. I especially liked my blue crab and salmon belly. Quick tea and waters refills too. The only wrinkle was premium + menu prices.

Great food and service. The fish is very fresh. The ramen is also amazing. What's great is that you have both options.

One of my top favorite sushi spots in LA. The quality is top tier and the flavors of the special role are fantastic. we sat at the sushi bar and had very friendly service from the sushi chefs who were very kind and answered a lot of our questions. The pink panther roll is fantastic! The ponzu sauce is extremely balanced and the albacore is top tier. The Hamapeno (yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno) is also a favorite. Perfectly spice and well served with ponzu sauce. Our third favorite was the Marlon roll. The crispy onion adds such a new balanced flavor. We also got the creamy rock shrimp but that was just ok. We will pass on that next time and just get more rolls. The ambience is also great for a date night !

Really yummy Sushi place! Apparently they are also known for their spicy miso broth - who knew? I tried the regular miso soup, the Special #4 Sushi (spicy shrimp on top of Sushi rice wrapped in tuna), the green beans, and the Miso Black cod entree.Miso soup was delicious, served at just the right temperature with lots of umami flavor. The Special #4 was really delicious. Shrimp was perfectly seasoned and the sliced tuna was so fresh. The creamy, spicy shrimp balanced well with the neutral flavored tuna. Green beans were good, served in a nice brown garlicky sauce.I loved the black miso cod. Served with Japanese mushrooms. The cod was so flaky and the miso gave it a nice bite. Definitely a busy restaurant but the service was still really good despite that. All of our food came out pretty quick and the waitress was super friendly. I liked the design of the restaurant, mostly wooden interior and I like how it's hidden down a driveway out of sight. I would totally come back for another family dinner.

If you want quality sushi (with variety) and a casual, comfy atmosphere: look no further. This is your place.Overall rating: 5 stars - food 5 stars - service 4 stars - pricing --( I feel like you're truly paying the price for the variety/quality food. I feel one could find something for this same price at a "higher-brow" style of restaurant if you really wanted.)This was my first time experiencing iroha sushi, but I was in the area by chance and realized it's been on my list for quite sometime. (This has been listed as some of the best sushi in the area, and the establishment has been around since the 90's .)I went in on a Saturday with no reservation and put our names down (2 ppl @ ~6:40) and were seated within 20 minutes right before the dinner crowd. The server and staff were very helpful with suggestions since it was our first time and we decided to do some specials before going for any rolls. We sat at the bar in a cozy nook of a restaurant and got to experience the chefs making rolls (100% recommend this); the place was packed. We started with kohada (slightly salty and fairly mild). I did think I would bet getting more umami flavor on this, but given that it's end of the season for this fish, I guess this is expected. Still, the taste was very fresh. We also had the nodoguro (scorched before served) which was a treat! It was incredibly fatty and melted in our mouths. We followed this with the Spanish mackerel which we requested as maki instead of nigiri to change it up and it was also superb. The chef had chopped it up with shiso leaves and it was the perfect crunch of seaweed with another melt-in-our-mouth experience (sadly, not pictured). After this we decided go to have the orange panther roll and the sockeye salmon nigiri . (Both, not pictured; both pretty ok, but nothing that I'd write home about.) This pretty much sealed the deal for us as to what Iroha was about, so we then got the Hikarimono and beyond combo. This is basically 6 pieces of a variety of fish, and a 4 piece maki (pictured below). This had the Kohada (again, super fresh) a sardine (amazing), salmon, mackerel (better as nigiri IMO), octopus (which was divine, I didn't eat it but my partner loved it), and a 6th piece that I can't remember because euphoria had taken over. Overall, this place is phenomenal for variety of fish, but I can see how the price can deter people from giving it 5 stars (especially if you're getting something like their salmon rolls or crispy-rice-thing). I get it, these are popular rolls and always a crowd pleaser, but I urge you to try some of their nigiris on the chalkboard; it will be worth it! Our total came out to 150-ish before tax (we also got an entree of tempura which was great and a large sake + teas). Felt it was very much worth it.
