I had an amazing experience at this Indian market! The moment I walked in, I felt like I had been transported straight to India. The aroma of fresh spices, incense, and exotic ingredients filled the air, creating an authentic and immersive atmosphere. They have every spice you could possibly need, from the most common to the rarest, all neatly arranged and of the highest quality. The selection of products is incredible--I had rava, petals, many spices. But what truly made my visit special was the warmth and hospitality of the owner. He graciously offered me a cup of chai, which was rich, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. It was a small gesture that made a big impact, reminding me of the welcoming culture of India. If you're looking for an authentic Indian market with a fantastic selection and a genuine experience, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Amazing collection of Indian treats, teas, incense, and ingredients. It feels just like being back in India! The staff are very friendly plus the hot food bar is cheap and truly legit flavors as could be.Not some fancy overpriced American Indian food place, but really good and authentic.Highly suggest this gem!

I had a lot of fun here with the family today. We are trying out making more Indian food at home and wanted to come here for the expansive choices of spices. We went aisle by aisle and looked at all the different brands and foods they offered. There was even an aisle for flour and we are big on baking and got a new pasta maker, so we were exited to see various brands of rice flour and multi grain flour. We ended up getting spices, flour, curry paste, tomato paste, cheese and frozen food. The key ingredients we needed that is not readily available at a regular grocery store. On the way out we did want to try some food. We just wanted samosas, but we ended up also getting a combo #1 curry that includes two curries and rice.My 14th month old is a very picky eater, but he ate a whole samosa for the first time! The chutnies that came with the samosas were the highlight for me. Very flavorful. Nice kick. For the combo we got the Dal and the Peas and Cheese curry. The price for the combos are very reasonable for a complete meal.Good to mention that the food is vegetarian.Parking: they have their own parking lot and there is ample meter parking on the street

If you are looking for a nice place to eat, this is not the place. Several tables inside and outside to sit and it is not nice looking. If you are looking for good food at a reasonable price, this is the place. LOVE their food. The first time I came here, the person who served me was very nice and explained things to me nicely. The second time I came here, a different person served me, and she was rude and didn't like explaining things to me. She was so rude; I considered not coming back. Their free parking lot isn't that great especially if a person doesn't know how to park their car properly. There's metered parking in front of this establishment.

We decided to try this spot out after a tiktok about it came across our fyp. We heard they had a great deal on hot food and with an Indian grocery attached we knew it was a place we had to check out. The restaurant side is straightforward, the hot food on display, steaming and ready to be served. Next to it a bakery case full of sweets of various shapes, colors and textures. Surrounding us were various religious figures from India and some canned coconut milk on sale, buy one get one free.We ordered a #2 Combo with Chana Masala and Dal. Plus two small chai. A heads up, this spot is all vegetarian and vegan, which I didn't mind but don't come here expecting Chicken Tikka or Lamb Vindaloo. It came with basmati rice, salad, yogurt sauce, pickle, samosa and warm roti. The Chana and the Dal had lovely spice without being overwhelming in heat. Nothing spectacular but an overall solid meal. The salad was a mix of cabbage and red onion, crisp and cool to balance the dish. The samosa was room temperature and I wish it was served hot like the rest of the food. The sauces served with it were flavorsome, a sweet tamarind and a tangy green sauce. The chai had a nice slight spiciness to it. A good way to take off the chill of this cool LA evening. After eating, we explored the grocery. Aisle after aisle was a discovery of spices, incense and pantry goods. They offered an interesting selection of hard to find specialty beverages and produce. The store was packed with items but still managed to be clean and organized. I took the opportunity to snag some Cadbury bars you don't see in the US that often. Finally, we swung back by the sweets counter on our way out and got a mix. Everything was quite pleasing and the different textures was a joy to experience. This spot is one of a few locations, but it feels like a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Bright murals paint the sides to draw attention as you walk by. Humble interior, good food, good portions and good people. Would definitely come back if I lived nearby.

you walk in through the parking lot and into a very casual hot food sit down area, it smells incredible, it looked like most meals were under $10, i'd like to go back. I went for english chocolates and treats- but you can't help but follow the giant market sign and explore! I wish everything had a price tag but I asked the cashier what prices were and put some stuff back- she was very nice, I do think it would've been easier for me to se entices but they have a ton of inventory so I get it. go, explore and maybe bring home a hot meal- I plan to next time i'm in the area

India Sweets & Spices is really a special type of Indian grocery store. While you will find typical spices, vegetables and prepared food, there's so much more. Located on Los Feliz, look for the Folk Art depiction of the many-armed goddess, Lady Durga. Inside, as said, you have a grocery store for nearly all your South Asian cooking needs. But then, if you take a right, you find a large cafeteria. Now, at first glance, the cafeteria doesn't look particularly special. This is definitely NOT an Indian restaurant. The tables are very simple and the walls are pretty plain. And there's no waitstaff. The food, however...now that's a different story. For under ten dollars you can get a HUGE tray of Indian vegetarian food. You can get one or two curries, rice, bread (like naan or chapati), sauces, pickle and dessert. And the food is very tasty. I've never been able to finish everything on my tray, even when I was famished. I suggest checking out both the store and the cafeteria during the same visit as its fun to check out the ingredients, but also the housewares, religious paraphernalia, henna and beauty supplies used by the local South Asian community. Definitely recommend.

I felt like a vegetarian meal, so I ended up at India Sweets & Spices: it's half grocery market and food stall cafe (cafeteria like). The pre-made food is mainly ALL VEGETARIAN/VEGAN items. Lots to choose from; a combo meal is a good option to start with or ask for recommendations. The menu is broken down by Northern/Southern Indian regional specialties: offered as Combos, Snacks, and Desserts/Drinks. You order at the counter then find a seat. No frills type place. Friendly environment. There's parking on the premises; however, it's a little tight during peak lunch/dinner rush. You can park on the side streets. Credit Cards are accepted.

Five stars for:1. You can literally find any Indian ingredient/spice you're looking for at this market. One stop shop. Prices are amazing, too.2. Staff is friendly and helpful.3. The restaurant part of the store has a $6.99 combo which is plenty for a very satisfying meal. I went on a Saturday morning and the curries I got were a tofu/potato curry and a cauliflower potato stir fried curry. Both were delicious. Literally an amazing value for what you get! The combo is 2 curries, rice, salad, pickles, and a chapati. Also got pani puri for $4.99 and it truly satisfied my craving. Don't expect anything fancy, but India Sweets & Spices has everything Indian you'll ever want/need.

I normally only leave reviews for things when I feel neutral at worst about something, but this was one of those things that were so bad, that I have to do so. Everything tasted like they doused it with salt. Even their rose lassi was slightly salty, and somehow, even their sweet lassi as well.It was borderline inedible and incredibly unhealthy how much salt this has. Like, I ordered a few things to sample their food to have for breakfast and maybe finish off the rest over dinner and maybe breakfast the next day. But I couldn't eat more than one or three bites of most of what I ordered, even when I tried forcing myself to finish some of them.Despite this, I wasn't going to leave a review even so because maybe I might just be sensitive to salt and it's purely a matter of taste, but not 20 minutes after trying to eat the food, I started getting heart palpitations from all the salt. I don't get palpitations even during those times I order a large combo from McDonald's or someplace similar, but I did with the food from this place. I even feel a headache coming on, probably from high blood pressure--also thanks to the salt. Normally to achieve this state, I would usually have to eat mainly unhealthy food with a lot of sodium over a few consecutive days. So yeah. I don't think the salt is simply a matter of taste. And speaking of their lassi, both had a medicinal taste mixed with expired yogurt/milk. I wasn't even sure if I should finish them or if it's even safe to finish them. But I'm already throwing away everything else, so I felt that I should at least drink these since they, at least, weren't unbearably salty. It's weird because my friend introduced me to this place around a decade ago and we had some samosas and a lassi each and I could've sworn their samosas weren't unbearably salty then. It might've been unremarkable but at least not inedible. Their lassi, though, I have never been a fan of but I think I'd remember thinking it tasted like expired milk/yogurt mixed with medicine if it did. So they might've tasted slightly better back then, and if so, I don't know what happened in the years between visits. It's too bad though since the portions you get for what you pay for is otherwise a good value.
