I haven't made a review in a while but I just had to say that this is a fantastic restaurant with fantastic service ! Came on a Tuesday night with a 7:45 reservation to celebrate my engagement. The decor is simple but thoughtful and we decided to be fascinated at the typewriter diagram they had idk why we liked it so much lol Wish I took photos but definitely also take their recommendations. We got both the beet and Caesar salad which I highly recommend. Beet salad was my favorite. We got gnocchi with vodka sauce, the lobster spaghetti which came with a spicy tomato sauce , and the truffle fettuccini. All pastas were so yummy and unique with their own flavors. Gnocchi was soft and the sauce was very fresh ! Before anyone tries to complain about parking, there's literally tons of space in the residential areas near by, I don't get why people don't wanna walk for 1 minute, but also plenty of street parking. All the workers are kind and were very patient with us lol. I appreciate and respect their hospitality and will be back again to try some other items as well!

The nicest hosts and most lovely people ever. Very accommodating and warm. The food was average at best. The Caesar croutons were not homemade. The bolognese was minimal bolognese and a ton of watery tomato sauce. The hazelnut dessert had what tasted like Hershey's chocolate sauce on it. Mediocre food but you can't beat the ambiance and sweet servers.

Very nice, small Italian place with a relaxed charm and warm service.Went on New Year's Eve and got very good food and wine. You can taste the quality and care that goes into their dishes. Their fresh, homemade pastas tasted great. But, to me, it seemed a bit overpriced for what we got. Yes, the pasta was quite good, but... it's just pasta.Glad we went but won't be back.

I had a lovely dinner here a few nights ago. Our server was kind and helpful 4/5. He suggested wine pairings for both courses that went well with the meal. I wish he would have taken more time explaining each wine. I ordered the carpaccio which was nice to start with 4/5. The filet mignon entree with peppercorn was FANTASTIC 6/5! It was cooked perfectly medium rare and the quality of the meat was great. I loved all the garlicy sauteed vegetables that accompanied the dish.

The food was delicious, and the service was attentive and gave great recommendations! The decor is chic and upscale. I enjoyed the special--the short rib mushroom ravioli was so yummy. For dessert, I got the pistachio cheesecake but it was a bit grainy. I would try a different dessert next time :) I would come recommend coming here for a solo or partner date!

hidden gem in los angelescalling all pasta lovers! il nido is a hidden gem in encino that i recently stumbled upon! the atmosphere is very welcoming and the decor is simplisitc in the most beautiful and romantic way. they start you off with delicious complementary bread. the truffle short rib ravioli is to die for, and probably the best i've had. the vodka pasta and mozzarella sticks are also delicious. the homemade tiramisu is the best tiramisu i've had, especially when paired with their delicious cappuccino. the service is very attentive and will give you the best night! overall il nido is an amazing restaurant and a must try when in los angeles!

My husband and I had a MAGICAL evening at IL Nido. As we had been out doing errands most of the day on our way home, we were trying to decide what to have for dinner. My husband suggested Italian food and I couldn't think of any Italian restaurant in the area that we could go to as we were driving on Ventura Blvd. I happen to look over my shoulder and saw restaurant. I looked it up on Yelp and saw the reviews looked pretty good. We quickly turned around, parked for a moment on the street as I told my husband I'll run in and take a look. I walked through the front door and it was inviting, the beauty of the restaurant and candles twinkling, along with the very welcoming reception from Marco. I knew we had to stay. Quickly made it out to let my husband know to park. There is small underground parking next to the restaurant. We took the ticket from the valet, which is validated by the restaurant. Marco sat us at a cozy corner booth. We ordered as an appetizer, the crabcakes and a nice bottle of the Villa Antinori wine. Both were delicious. I would love to see calamari. added to the menu. And perhaps a Sicilian eggplant. I opted for the fettuccine with black truffle sauce, Marco suggested adding a little cream to make it to my liking (I prefer creamy sauces) and we added sliced chicken breast. My husband had the Branzino with piccata sauce...along with the penne with vodka sauce. Both dishes were quite tasty! Good music was playing in the background...felt like a HALLMARK date night. ;) My husband is a chef in our home and when he's happy with a dish while eating out at a restaurant, that is a great thing! ;) He and I thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely romantic dinner, along with the great ambience, and the outstanding service by Marco and Robert. To end the evening we shared a slice of the pistachio cheesecake that is brought in from Italy. It was also tasty. Not too heavy and sweet. Next time we'll try the tiramisu. We will definitely be back and will let our friends and family know about this lovely, cozy quaint restaurant in the neighborhood with excellent staff and service.Thank you Marco for making it a magical evening for our date night! David and I look forward to seeing you again!

We had a great date night at Il Nido! We love Italian food, especially authentic recipes that remind us of what it's like to eat in Italy. That's the experience we got at Il Nido. It was a not-too-busy Thursday evening and we were seated right away when we arrived. Our server made a great wine recommendation based on the pasta we were ordering. I had a glass of the Barrero (might as well have Italian wine when eating Italian food!) And it blended well with the flavors of the pasta we got. They serve slivers of garlic bread on a cutting board...thin slices of focaccia, perfectly sized to not fill up before your main comes (unless you eat them all which is hard not to do because they're delicious.)My wife and I ordered Futticcine with Black Truffle and Cacio Pepe pastas...they knew we were going to share them and divided up the portions on to 2 plates for us (without even asking) so we didn't have to do the mid-meal plate switcheroo. Both pastas were delicious! They make the noodles in-house and you really can't beat perfectly cooked fresh pasta. We left feeling really well taken care of by their staff, super happy with what we ate, and with a new authentic Italian spot on our radar for future date nights!

I was craving authentic Italian cuisine, and IL Nido ("The Nest") delivered beautifully. Making a reservation through their website was very easy, though they also welcome walk-ins.While I don't usually drink, their wine selection is impressive for those interested. The specials are announced before ordering; we chose the mushroom ravioli, which was one of their specials , and I also had the fettuccine with black truffle. Both dishes were delicious and perfectly portioned. The garlic bread is also outstanding--especially when paired with their olive oil and vinegar. Highly recommend for a great Italian dining experience.
