I was a semi - regular at Il Fornaio in Studio City both solo st the bar and with a date for dinner. Always loved the food. I was so pleased to see they opened a Woodland Hills location and went there for a birthday dinner with my folks. I was so happy to find that the Sevice and food quality was, as always, above par.

I came here to participate in their Dine LA Menu ($45 for 3 courses). This was my first time here and I must say that the restaurant is well constructed to accommodate a good size crowd. There is outside seating, some with table fire pits. The inside seating has many elegant areas, that also include a bar. The place is pretty popular, there were many patrons waiting for a table and there were people standing inside to be seated all throughout my time there. In short, the place was packed. Therefore, I had high expectations. After a brief wait, I was able to get a table (the advantage of dining solo without a reservation), even on a Saturday night.I started with the minestrone soup. It arrived lukewarm with the vegetables overcooked. The cutlery at the table had a large serving spoon for the soup. This triggered me to ask the server for a soup spoon. In response they brought me two smaller table spoons. This was done in a rude manner with the server raising his voice and telling me that these were the spoons for the soup. I was shocked that a restaurant of this caliber did not know or did not have a soup spoon (see my photos). Really?For the main dish, I decided to go safe and ordered the grilled salmon. It took 45 minutes to come to my table and when it did, it was also way overcooked, lacked seasoning and was very dry. By that time, I had given up talking to my server. Tiramisu was my desert choice. Nothing to write home about. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience. Luckily, in the same and immediate vicinity of this large mall complex, there are much better (and consistent) Italian restaurants.

We went there for our 5th anniversary and it was really lovely. Wonderful food and atmosphere and the staff was very kind and thoughtful. This is a place where my girlfriend's grandparents spent their special occasions too so it was very special, A+

We went for DineLA, location is pretty, ambiance is very nice and elegant. Our food tasted good but we did this the salad portion was a little small but the pasta with vodka sauce was awesome! My only ding was the service, the server seemed to forget us quite a bit and made a weird comment about the restaurant being a "fine dining restaurant" when I asked a question and then proceeded to not really provide fine dining service. Our water was always empty, we had to flag someone down to order wine and we could tell he was a bit more chummy with the other tables and not us which left an odd feeling for our experience. I hope to give it another try with a different server and hopefully enjoy it fully.

Delicious foods--ravioli brasato! Well-cooked braised short ribs. Great match with St. Supery white wine. Macchiato was hot & yummy. Glad to connect with new friends! Thank you so much Alberto and Paulo for your excellent, purposeful service. The check-in was also a smooth-sailing process with Brianna and Amy. They all deserve a pay raise! Early sitting too. The Village location of Il Fornaio is a place I frequent regularly. Recently, I tried their bruschetta sampler appetizer and really love it! It comes with three bruschetta each with its own unique topping. I especially love the mushroom spread. I thought it would've been better. It has no pasta nor did I see any beans? And I wish it would've been hotter.Brussel sprouts were a hit. They were definitely roasted not fried. The salad dressing not so much, had to ask for a balsamic vinegar to jazz up the dressing.The salmon was amazing love the serving size of spinach. The potatoes were roasted they were good.
