Seafood is so fresh you can literally see it move (just the lobster head, see video). Service was quick and Korean-mommy style (no time for bs & give you what you need fast). They made a spicy fish soup with the lobster head and tail at the end when you cue that you're done. Place was clean, nothing fancy. Just super fresh korean style sashimi. (Meaning you can dip in korean spicy paste and wrap in lettuce and green leaves like a ssam.)

This hidden gem is a must-try for sashimi lovers! We ordered the halibut sashimi course, and the portion was more than enough for two people. It came with a generous spread of side dishes, making the meal feel extra indulgent. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were spot-on. The staff were warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of this traditional Korean sashimi spot. It's the kind of place only the locals know about, and it's absolutely worth the visit. Highly recommended. I loved every bite!

Small whole in the wall in a strip near Koreatown! Nothing fancy but ALL THE RAW SEAFOOD!!! Unmatched! Not the best for big groups but for groups of less than 6 should work! Fast moving Korean aunties and the chefs are right where you can see them. Absolutely coming back here with the sisters!

Special place where my dad and I always go whenever we run errands together in LA. There is a place called Jang Soo Sushi Bar Restaurant in Hawaiian Garden that my family is a regular, which I will review it soon. However, this restaurant is a replica of that place, which I love. Fresh sashimi, various side dishes and delicious extra sushi on the house, the price might be pricy but I don't mind paying for the quality. Their presentation is also superb. From the sushi men to the servers, they are flawless. Love the fact that they use the stainless steel cups and dishes because that means they sanitizes them. The restaurant might be small but the excellence of their customer service and professionalism on handling assorted fishes are great.Note that they close at 2pm and reopen at 4pm everyday except on Sundays. They open 3pm-9:30pm on Sundays.

tldr; amazing food and portions, great service, cozy vibes I was really craving halibut sashimi and wanted to find a place that would serve it Korean style. I think in OC/LA, this is the only place I was able to find. Before I visited, I was a little nervous because the price seemed steep at about $70 per person for a 2-person set. After visiting, I can confirm that I think it is totally worth it - and you can probably feed 3 people with the 2 person combo. We went on a weekday and there was only 1 other party seated at the time we arrived. I recall only about 8 tables? So may get busy for dinner/weekends! Free and large parking lot in the complex. The course was halibut sashimi 광어회 and other cuts of raw seafood. We also were served tons of other sides like salad, soup, porridge, salmon nigiri, and spicy seafood soup 해물탕. It was soooooo good and the seafood was really fresh. They also had live octopus (산낙지), which was also so fresh and delicious. It's not common for restaurants in the States to do this, so I had to get a bite of that as well! I think even if we're not there for the whole set meal, I will be back here to try some of their other dishes. A lot of people that were there when we were there got the raw fish bibimbap, which seemed like a really fair amount for the price.

Fresh sashimi (hweh) and nonstop flow of colorful dishes from a master chef. Hole in the wall but a staple hweh spot in Koreatown.

There have been lots of Korean style sashimi places that come and go over dacades in Koreatown, I think this place is one of the few places keeping business so far. This place is always packed with old-timers who miss fresh sashimi and various side dishes, so I recommend to visit in non-peak hours. You know the restaurant is good when they are on the business for a long time with continuous customers.

Smaller sized restaurant with a good staff. At a glance you won't notice the restaurant but I highly suggest dropping by for fresh fish and side dishes. My party got both sashimi combo sets for about 8 people and along with drinks and side dishes. The entire dish was so well sliced and perfectly chewy. Along with dipping sauces the experience was memorable. Service was quick and thoughtful. It felt like I was over for dinner For a larger group, I'd recommend calling to let them know of party size for preparation

This place has been consistently good to me. this review is only for the hwae dup bap, because this is all I ever get there, and unless someone can prove me wrong, this may be the best hwae dup bap you can get in LA, and by extension, perhaps the in the USA. hwae dup bap is one of the few dishes i can eat every day. the ingredients are always fresh and the flavors will make you never want to buy one of those ready made kits at the korean grocery store. To me, a 5 star review means i eat there regularly, and if this place keeps doing what they're doing, i'll be a lifelong patron.
