One of the best and literally one of the best noodle and wonton houses is hiding in the middle of Hollywood. This place offers flavor beyond belief. It's hard to recommend any specific dishes because all of them were so good! Ok, this is what I can say try a couple noodles and wontons! Doesn't matter which ones. They're all fantastic. BUT, do not skip the marinated tofu skin and cucumbers. You might easily overlook them but they're phenomenal. The inside is dimly lit giving this spot a true Chinese noodle bar kind of feel with a slight hip urban flair. One of our favorite spots. No question.

Visited on a Friday night at 7pm. We were seated right away. The restaurant was busy but there was never a wait/line. I will try to be empathetic as it seemed they were understaffed, but it was hard to see past all of this. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend nor would I return. Rather, I would 100% go to Din Tai Fung, wait an hour for a table, and pay more because at least the food there is amazing and the service is great. We waited almost 10 minutes before our waiter came to take our drink order. My boyfriend ordered a beer, and the waiter didn't bother to ask me if I wanted a drink. He left right away. Came back with the beer and didn't bring water or even ask if we wanted water. We had to flag down a different waiter and ask for water. Lamb skewers were the best thing we tried. But they weren't amazing. The scallion pancake reads on the menu "Pan fried", but when it came out it was deep fried and drenched in oil. I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known that. The Hui Tou with beef was okay. It was boring and kinda bland. Also, I flipped them over and they were burnt/black on the bottom side. Also very greasy. For constructive feedback for the kitchen, my biggest criticism is that the dough on the XLB, spicy wontons, and Hui Tou is very, very thick. The experience is a mouth full of dough with a little bit of filling, not pleasant and also not worth your money. If they would work on their dough and thin it out, make it more chewy. Add more flavor to the fillings, it would be a lot better. Their chili oil is very nice! Also, XLB should be served with a side of sliced ginger (we didn't get that, and maybe they do offer it but our waiter was never around to ask). Last comment on the service - We never received napkins from our waiter. Our waiter not once came to check on us (Not exaggerating lol). We had to flag down a different waiter AGAIN and ask for napkins. When our waiter came by to drop off food, we told him we wanted to order more, and he said one second and never came back. We flagged down the other waiter AGAIN to take our order.... Overall, the whole experience was very disappointing and lackluster. I was really excited to try this place and the reviews were very promising! I like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but I cannot come back and try again. Usually, restaurants can make up for bad service with their food, or vice versa. But this was just a very disappointing experience. My boyfriend and I left feeling kinda bummed out. I also rarely leave reviews but I had to leave a review for this. I'll say the ambiance however is very nice and aesthetic. They did a great job with the interior of the restaurant. There's always room for improvement and I think it's a lot of easy adjustments/fixes and they can redeem themselves .

It wasn't too busy on a Sun evening - we were seated right away. Half of the restaurant is taken up by the bar, but I'm pretty sure everyone comes for the food. We ordered the pork hui tou, pork xlbs, mushroom skewers, and steamed veggie (Chinese broccoli). The hui tou and xlbs were both really good and the broth was clear in both. The Chinese broccoli was also pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The mushroom skewers weren't great. The sauce was a little spicy, which wasn't indicated on the menu. Also, the sauce was too watery so it didn't coat the mushrooms enough so a lot of the mushrooms tasted really bland. The service was fine.

Rolled in on a Monday night around 6pm with a four top. Got seated immediately and within 10 minutes there was a wait. The service was nothing to write home about but we got food. We asked questions about the menu and our server was pretty short and not all that helpful so we punted. We ordered a mix of items and hoped for the best. Scallion pancakes were crunchy and a little greasy and tasty. The chicken and pork pot stickers were delicious. They felt homemade and were cooked to perfection. The ground pork noodles were not good although the server Implied they were a house favorite. The Liang Ban noodles were served cold and were a spicy, 4-star dish. A glass of Sauvignon Blanc was $12 and our guests had two. The ambience is ok, it's cramped and loud when busy. I felt not compulsion to photograph the food other than a couple of shots of noodles so that probably tells you all you need to know. It served a purpose but I don't know that I would return for a repeat of anything we had.

The food was good. I just wish they had hot mustard. The portions were generous. The service was fairly fast, being they were super busy on a weekday. The place was nice, it had a decent amount of seating and we were able to be seated in a short time.

If you're craving authentic, tasty Chinese comfort food (dumplings and noodles), but don't want to make the trek to the SGV, your prayers have been answered! Located in the heart of Hollywood, this cool, cozy spot is the real deal. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there's a parking lot right next door, or if you're lucky, there's plenty of metered parking right in front of the restaurant.

Update review. We love the food here, very authentic. We came on Saturday for lunch, got lucky with the last table. We ordered the scallion pancakes, spicy pork wontons and beef stew in broth. As always, pancakes and wontons were great. The beef stew broth and noodles were terrific - however the pieces of stew were so tough we found them inedible. We called our server, Garrett over, and let him know the beef was inedible. As always, he was perfectly professional and apologized. He offered to remove the charge for this dish and let us order something else. I told him we'd just eat the rest of the wonderful broth and noodles and we'd be too full for something else. He told us he would not sell this dish again for the day. We've ordered this dish several times and it's always been super, so this was an anomaly. When he brought our check, he mentioned he had remove the dish from the bill, which we appreciated.I told Garrett I was going to post this, and he asked me to say he's funny, which he was, but also he represents this restaurant in the best way possible.

Tried several things on the menu and everything was really good. The spicy wantons stood out as amazing. The chili oil took it to another level. Would go back just for those.

Such a great spot for dumplings! A literal hole in the wall this place really satisfied my cravings. It's a small cozy joint but the customer service was quick and friendly. I tried a little of everything and was not disappointed! I definitely recommend trying the spicy pork wontons!!

Came by for lunch since it was close by. There's street metered parking all around although I had to circle a bit before finding a spot around the block. The location is pretty unassuming from the street. The interior is a bit interesting. It's dark and under lit and looks more like a nightclub. No issues with the aesthetics but when I came in at 11am they were BLASTING music. Interior is clean and modern otherwise. The service was fairly inattentive. There were only two other parties in the restaurant so they were far from understaffed. One of the tables were by people the staff knew, and most of the staff was preoccupied having a loud conversation (because of the loud music) with them. I had to ask for water cup and it was never refilled. The food was hit or miss. The actual dumpling products were great but some of the other items on the menu weren't my favorite. Pork Hui Tou - these were tasty and hefty portions. They are deep fried all around. The filling texture was a bit off but generally very tasty. Vegetarian pancakes - filled with chive and egg filling. These were my favorite. Great seasoning and the wrapping was just thick enough to hold together but thin enough that it wasn't too much. Lamb skewer - could have used more spice seasoning. $7 for two seemed a bit steep but it came with a lot of meat. Three flavor dumplings - tasty but not very differentiated from any of the other options a 20 minute drive away. Tofu skin appetizer - this was a miss for me and a weird dish overall. The sauce was sweet but also very bland. Sesame noodle - this dish needed 3x the amount of sauce that it came with, and the sesame sauce was extremely bland. Needed a lot of chili oil. For the price I would not recommend. Overall the dumpling products here were really good but the other dishes were real misses. Combined with the frosty service, not sure I'd come back.
