Always a delightful and delicious culinary experience when dining at Hoy-Ka. Five stars!Owner Lily and her staff are always so welcoming, friendly, and professional in their service. The food here has to be the best Thai food in the West Coast! That's a big statement! Pad Kee Mao. Drunken Noodles. Fat rice noodles flavored with an amazing sauce. Owners Lily explained that the meats and veggies are wok friend on high heat first to get a Smokey flavor, then the noodles are added. Grade A!Boat Noodles. This classic dish is known all over Thailand but Hoy Ka does it well. Traditional spices broth noodles served with meats that are cooked to perfection (not overcooked and tough). Grade A!Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. Delicious greens cut to bite sized perfection and tossed with crispy pork. Served with a light brown sauce. Delicious! Grade A!Thai Dessert. Like the Vietnamese Che or the Filipino Halohalo. This refreshing dessert comes with milk, coconut milk, chestnut tapioca, jack fruit, coconut jelly, young coconut strips, palm seeds, and a lot more goodies. Refreshing and light. Great way to end a meal! Grade. a!Thank you Lily and staff for always making our meals delicious and enjoyable! Overall Grade: A

Want to get skimped out of a meal? Order take out or delivery from greasy dump. Total trash. Ordered a CHICKEN pad Thai and got literally 3 tiny pieces of chicken in it. I asked for some sambal and siracha for my order (I called and asked nicely), got one freaking packet. Want napkins and forks et, think again. This place is a scam. Don't EVER order from here and don't believe all the FAKE reviews. It's another scammer garbage restaurant grifting from hard working Americans. BUYER BEWARE (update: I now have explosive diarrhea)

I was in Hollywood this weekend craving some legit Thai food, and a friend recommended HOY-LA. It did not disappoint! Walked in around 1 PM on a Saturday--it was busy but not packed. The moment I caught the aroma inside, I knew I was in for something good. Here's what we ordered: Papaya Salad with Crispy Pork: This was a total standout--extra spicy and absolutely fire! Big shoutout to our waitress who noticed my girl suffering from the spiciness and brought over some Thai tea to help calm things down. Big +1 for that! Chicken Khao Soi: Comfort food at its best. Creamy curry noodle soup with two types of noodles--crunchy ones for that awesome texture and super tender chicken Pad Thai with Tofu: Solid pad Thai--noodles were perfectly chewy and springy. Ka Prao with Pork: Spicy, flavorful stir-fried ground pork with basil and peppers served with rice. A classic done right. Mango Sticky Rice: Sweet mango with perfectly balanced sticky rice--not overly sweet, which I loved.Overall, the food was bomb! They don't hold back on the spice, so definitely let them know your heat tolerance. Portions were generous, prices were fair, and the flavors were on point.Pro Tip: They offer free 1-hour valet parking when you dine in, or you can usually find street parking nearby.

We always find a Thai restaurant to eat whenever we come to Hollywood. Thai is absolutely one of my favorites! This is a cafe like restaurant, place itself is very open and bright. The food menu was huge with mostly noodle and rice items. I had two chrysanthemum iced tea (one to go)! For food we had tom yum tofu soup, chicken larb salad and bbq pork with rice. The food was so comforting but a bit salty for hubby's liking. I love salty foods so I really enjoyed it. The service was so good and I was impressed! We enjoyed our Thai lunch so much, the parking was free with validation!

Came here with my partner before our concert at the palladium. Super spacious spot, decorated with traditional thai wares. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated immediate. The wait staff were so nice and attentive. There was a bit of a language barrier with some of them, but they made sure to repeat our order to verify! The food itself was incredible. We got skewers, duck noodles, and cream cheese wontons. They were all so flavorful! If we lived closer, we'd be here so often

The larb was very delicious with the mixture of all the spice inside. The seafood was less exciting compare to it though. The Thai tea tea was okay. Papaya salad was very refreshing!Service was excellent. We did not wait too long to be seated and the food was served fast. Place not too noisy, able to talk to each other without yelling.

This review is based on take-out. Whenever I try a new Thai restaurant I always pick two classics to review it by (Chicken Satay & Pineapple Fried Rice) and then select an item that the restaurant seems known for (in this case, the Crispy Pork) Below is my rating:CHICKEN SATAY - 4 Stars. The chicken is seasoned well and had an earthy flavor to it. The peanut sauce was also quite good. PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE - 4 1/2 Stars. Good portion of shrimp, great seasoning, and quite mild. This definitely hit the spot. CRISPY PORK (Side Order) - 2 1/2 stars. I really didn't care for this. The pork was crisp, but was basic and lacked flavor. Very one note. Reminded me of chicharrones. I assume this would be best in a dish to absorb some flavor, but on its own I didn't care for this and threw the rest away.

This Thai restaurant has a homey vibe and the service is excellent! Our waiter gave us recommendations and checked in on us every now and then. The workers reminded me of aunties I would grow up with. We got the drunken noodles with chicken, sneaky pork, and the pork ka prao with rice. The drunken noodles were saucier than what I'm used to but the flavor was very good. It had a smoky, rich, taste with Thai basil. The sneaky pork was a unique appetizer and the portion was huge! The sneaky pork had a sweet, lemongrass flavor and had the tanginess of the lime. The Chinese broccoli was a nice side dish and added freshness to the dish and cut out the fattiness of the pork. Lastly, we got the pork ka prao with rice and an egg on top. The Thai basil, and the moist pork was a great combo over the rice. If you want to try a Thai staple in West Hollywood, make sure to check this out! Quality food, great service, and reasonable prices!

After a full day in LA, I felt like Thai comfort food was in order. I bounced between different recommendations but ultimately I picked the Hoy-Ka Hollywood because some of their menu items caught my eye.Between the colorful hues from the neon highlights and the old school, timber finishes, I felt like I was back in one of the restaurants in Pattaya or Bangkok's Yaowarat. Service was lovely as they were enthusiastic (and patient) about my attempt to use my newbie Thai skills to order, but I did it :).FOOD:Started off with one of my street food staples - Moo Ping ($13), which is glazed, grilled pork skewers. Nothing beats the combination of the sweet, smoky pork skewers as you dip it into the Thai lemon garlic chili sauce (citrusy, spicy). All you need is a side of sticky rice and you'll find yourself quickly polishing these off and debating if you want to order more (with the exchange rate in Thailand, I don't hesitate for more rounds, but I tend to be more conservative with the amount I get here at our US prices). Hoy-ka does a great job with this dish.Continuing with simple, excellent, comfort foods, I ordered their Pad Kra Pao (Thai holy basil stir-fried) for $14. This Thai go-to staple melds spice (Thai chilis), umami (fish sauce, light/dark soy sauce, oyster sauce), sweetness (sugar), meatiness (ground pork), and aromatics (holy basil, garlic). Of course, it gets even better when you top it with a fried egg (kai dow - ). It's pure ecstasy when that golden yolk coats that first spoonful of ground pork, basil, chili, sauce, and rice. Yum! I was very happy with what I got at this restaurant.
