The best shoyu ramen I've ever eaten! Broth was layered, complex and rich in umami, noodles were perfect with good chew and flavor, the charsui was the best I've ever tasted in ramen, and the generous bamboo shoots, spinach, gem onions and home made hot spice were all perfectly balanced enhancements to the bowl of deliciousness! The fried chicken had beautiful crisp coating and juicy leg and thigh pieces. The chicken bowl was a serving so huge it could easily feed 2 or 3 people, with plenty of spinach and rice to round out the textures and flavors. Hiro Nori is my new favorite ramen spot!

This was for take out order, ordered via the restaurant website. They made this hard to order. DoorDash and Uber eats were not available for ordering. But the restaurant online system was. The parking lot on the north side of the restaurant is for this establishment as well as others. You can also park behind the restaurant, keeping in mind the alley is littered with broken glass and dumpsters... cuz it's an alley, so learn from me and don't do that. I went to pick up my order, expecting a super full restaurant and orders back logged. Not the case. A few diners and one other order aside from mine. I ordered ramen that included extra sauces (for a fee), soy meat (for a fee). Both of which were not added. I asked for utensils. They were not added.I ordered the buns, and replaced with tofu. I was expecting a cooked or prepared tofu, so that's on me. What I got was simply cubed cold tofu in the bun. I ate the bun it self, which was well prepared, the texture was spot on. But, I sadly was hoping for so much more. Some air fried tofu, or crumbled or something. The broth was good. The noodles were good. Hence the three stars. Execution of my order on all other fronts, well, was less then good, and I had such high expectations. I'll try the San Diego location and see if I have better luck there.

I would say that they have great tasting ramen, the place was clean and customer service was great. Also, the lighting in the restaurant makes for a cozy dining experience ! However, there was one thing I didn't really like, the mandatory tips (16%). They say it's an option. But really, the waiter would come up to you and say we have added a 16% tip to your bill to support all staff members (do you think they would be friendly with you when you decline to give that tip to them? Passive aggressive way of saying it's an optional tips at its finest) . What's with the trend of restaurants not paying their staff members enough and putting that burden on customers? American tipping culture is something, isn't it?The food:Tonkotsu Ramen (8/10):Broth was savory and rich in texture. The noodles' hardness was perfect (mildly chewy). The pork chashu was cooked to perfection, the edges even had a crispy texture to it. The half egg was also tasty. Spinach was not soggy and tasted fresh. The only reason I thought it wasn't a 10/10 is the broth was a little salty towards the end.Shoyu Ramen (10/10):I thought this tasted better. I liked the chicken broth enough to finish the whole bowl . The noodles were equally tasty.Overall, they have great ramen, I think if you are planning to dine-in at this restaurant, then come with 2 or more parties with you, the tips would be less painful to pay for.

So I've been a big fan of this place and never ever had an issue until tonight, very very disappointed. There is a device for a waiting list so I figured I would do that and after that we waited outside the restaurant where they have benches. We were told we are the 1st ones on the waiting list. And there comes a couple and we had a bad feeling about the situation(they might get a table before us) and sure enough! They got a table before us!! So I told one of the servers that we were before them and I put my name on the waiting list and all and she told me if we talked to one of them. I was like what?! What is the point of having a device then?? Make it make sense! I was gonna wait for a next available table but NAH we left! There is one location rather near from my house but I chose to drive extra miles because for some reasons this location tasted bit better and better ambiance but man what a waste of time!!! Only reason I give them more than one star is that they do have good foods, I give them a credit for that. I don't think I'd go there again where I'm not respected.

Came here on a Tuesday night with a friend after work and we were seated right away. It's a pretty small restaurant and I can see it getting pretty crowded on the weekend. We each ordered the Shoyu Ramen and got the 2 piece Pork Bun to share. The ramen was pretty good and flavorful but I wouldn't say it was phenomenal or the best ramen I've ever had, let alone Bib Gourmand worthy. The other thing is that they include a mandatory 16% service fee, which I'm fine with the amount but the mandatory tips always leave a bad taste in my mouth. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't standout great and maybe this is just a general ramen shop thing but it just seemed like they wanted us in and out. I'll come back again for the ramen, but it's not something I'll be dying to have again soon.

Yet another hironori has opened up in LA and this one is close to LMU campus! The street parking is a bit abysmal especially since it's on an extremely busy highway but I did get lucky on my visit and got a spot up front. I don't actually know if there's parking on the rear. I get the same bowl every time: tonkotsu with their original noodles and a side of garlic paste. It's delicious every single time. I liked that they had cute little stickers!! Anyways, very grateful for this and always a 5 star rating from me. (26/50--2024)

The ramen was delicious! So much depth in the broth. Recovering from a sinus infection and it hit the spot. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was also so delicious. Some of the best I've had at a ramen spot. The cucumber salad was very refreshing. The staff were so sweet and accommodating! Would definitely return!

Hiro Nori has become one of my favorite ramen spots around the area. I usually get the Tonkatsu Ramen because the broth is so flavorful and rich. I prefer thin noodles but this time I asked for thick and it's just as good plus very filling. On the side we ordered the crispy chicken that came out promptly! I enjoy the fried chicken and being met with a juicy bite of chicken. This night I ordered an arnold palmer instead of my regular beverage and the balance was great. The ladies working are very welcoming and attentive. I appreciate their hard work. Thank you!

Absolutely phenomenal Ramen, best chicken karage I've tasted in California. Service is amazing, black garlic is such a plus, and overall would recommend this place to anyone. In terms of ramen this restaurant is a solid 9/10 and the best ramen I've tried in the Los Angeles area next to silver lake ramen.
