I tried their new Deulkkae (perilla seed) Kalguksu and it was so good! It doesn't come with protein but you can add whatever protein you want. The broth was so creamy and the flavor is pretty light, so the complimentary side dishes paired perfectly with this dish.We walked in on Sunday dinner time and got seated after 5 minutes. Since they take our orders while we're waiting outside our food came out really fast. The ambiance is really nice and lively so it's great to socialize with friends.

5 STARSHangari Kalguksu is an amazing Korean noodle restaurant in the heart of Koreatown. It also has some of the best bossam we've been able to try here in SoCal. Bring a group of 4-6 people, so you can try the best dishes. Here's a list of my personal recommendations when you visit Hangari Kalguksu:* Seafood kalguksu (large serves 3-4: $80.99): this is a huge serving filled with crab, shrimp, mussels, clam, and more in an anchovy broth. One of these is more than enough for the table.* Hangari's famous bossam (medium serves 2: $49.99; large serves 3-4: $74.99; x-large serves 5-6: $96.99): I normally order the large, especially if you get the seafood kalguksu and other dishes. This is the go-to dish for many people who visit Hangari. It's boiled tender pork belly served with pickled cabbage, and spicy radish kimchi, garlic, and jalapeño.* Milmyon / bibim milmyon ($18.99): this is a delicious cold chewy noodle dish in beef broth. It is a perfect complement to the other hot dishes you will be ordering for your meal. Those are the main recommendations I have for when you visit. If you have more people, you can order the larger sizes or add a tokbokgi on the side ($18.99). Try to beat the rush by going early or going later in the evening. There's often a line outside of people waiting to be seated.

Love the hand made noodles here so much!! Fast service as always.Got the spicy seafood soup which wasn't that spicy, but had plenty of seafood! An entire crab, shrimp, clams, mussels. Giant portion.Bossam was also very good, meat was a little lacking for price, but the kimchi that came with it was also delicious! Usually there's only valet available ($5) or street parking (limited)

There was no wait on a Saturday evening at 5pm. I really enjoyed their seafood hand cut noodles! The pork was a bit dry and flavorless. Banchans were authentic and I liked the variety to make wraps with the pork belly.

Hangari's famous Bossom - YUMMM. Absolutely delicious! MUST GET ITEM to share. If you're planning on getting a kalguksu then the medium/large Bossom works well for 3-4 people to share. The pork is so tender, pairs well with the lettuce, garlic, kimchi, and sauce to dip. Every bite is so full of flavor! Chicken Kalguksu - it's what I crave when I'm sick or on a rainy day. This isn't your typical chicken noodle soup. The noodles are thicker and chewier. The broth is so rich and creamy but full of chicken flavor. Potatoes are also served in this soup. I've never tasted anything like it. MUST GET ITEM. The palce is always pretty clean despite large crowds and foot traffic. I try to come a little earlier than lunch/dinner rushes and have been able to escape waiting no more than 20 minutes each time. Parking sucks since it's ktown but they do have a valet lot, never tried it tho so can't comment on that. Good luck with street parking, may the odds be in your favor~ This is honestly one of my favorites places ever. The Bossom and chicken kalguksu are unmatched. I've been to Hangari many many times over the last few years and it always satisfies. I've introduced so many friends to this places and they have all loved it as well. I will keep coming and keep recommending this place!

I came by myself and panic ordered, but I knew whatever I chose would be a 10/10, anyway. It was. I loved the chicken porridge. It took a bit of time but was so worth the wait. It was packed with a rich, chicken flavor and delicious diced veggies. Perfect for if you're feeling under the weather! Out of the banchan, I only liked the cabbage kimchi. It was busy and seemed to stay busy and they also only have valet parking. Service was standard and quick.

My mom and I came here after her appt in LA. It was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. Service was great; both the guy and the girl servers were right on it with the water, hot tea, and sides. My mom had wanted to try their new perilla (deulkkae) kalguksu and the flavor was delicious. They even added zucchini slices, mushroom slices and potatoes, which we enjoyed wirh their knife-cut noodles. I actually thought their broth was a tad thicker than the usual broth I tried elsewhere, but the flavor was on point. Their three sides of the variety of kimchi/radish were good in flavor and fresh. We enjoyed their ambiance as well. They were very busy at 11:00 am and people kept coming in to dine and having take outs. The servers were nice about replenishing our sides. It was perfect portion to share. We need to come back try out other items on the menu.Thank you Hangari Kalguksu team for the excellent service and making delicious kalguksu!!

One day, we were lucky and didn't have to wait, so the four of us went in and tried three types of kalguksu: plain, clam, and chicken. Each one was delicious. The clam soup was fresh and sweet, and the chicken was really tender. The portions were huge and way too much for one person. There were plenty of side dishes, and the service was great with lots of refills. This place stays open late and is very popular in Koreatown for its handmade noodles. I loved it and can't wait to try more next time.

Really good spot for Korean food. I liked how seasoned most of the foods were and the amount of food served was pretty nice. I ordered for take-out, so there was a lot of setup happening, but the food overall was delicious. It wasn't super crowded when I saw the restaurant so I was able to get my food on-time fortunately. I got their Chicken Kalgukusu, Hangari Bossam, Beef Bibimbap, Kongguksu, and a bunch of side dishes.I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the meals overall! It was a bit pricey but the amount of food was pretty good. My favorites were the Chicken Kalguksu and the Hangari Bossam. The chicken kalguksu had so much deep flavor and the soup was seasoned so well. In a way, it could be a bit salty but I liked the amount of salt and it complimented the whole meal. The bossam was fatty and soft; just exactly how I prefer it. The bossam had all the little sides that are served with it such as garlic, jalapenos, pickled radishes, kimchi, and pickled cabbages. Nice additions that complimented everything. I think my least favorite was the Kongguksu. I liked the idea of soy milk broths, but I think I felt pretty neutral with it. It was refreshing and you can put some salt on it to flavor the broth, but it was okay. Still a very enjoyable experience and I was glad I was able to try this place out. I would definitely come back here again.
