We had an amazing experience at Haidilao for Chinese New Year! The service was exceptional, making our celebration feel special with festive touches and personalized recommendations. The ingredients were top-notch, from fresh meats and vegetables to flavorful broths. The lively atmosphere and noodle dance performance made it unforgettable. Haidilao excels at both food and hospitality--a must-visit for hot pot lovers!

I've been to multiple Haidilao locations, but this was by far the worst experience I've had.First, the reservation process was a complete mess. I called earlier in the day to book a table for 6 PM, but they told me the only available slot was 7:15 PM, so I took it. When I arrived early, they told me to come back exactly at 7:15. When I did, they suddenly claimed they don't take reservations on Fridays. If that was the case, why even give me a reservation time over the phone and tell me to come back at my reservation time? I had to show proof that I called, so then they sat my friend and I down.Once we were seated, the service was disorganized. Other guests randomly came up to our table and took chopsticks from our cabinet since that's what our server kept doing. It was so awkward. The food itself was disappointing. I've had Haidilao at other locations, and the soup base at this one just wasn't good. On top of that, when I asked for an extra bowl for soup, the server told me, "We might not have those." At a hot pot restaurant?! Then she brought me a paper bowl, saying the glass bowl I already had was for the kitchen when they serve rice (which I didn't even order). Meanwhile, my friend had a normal bowl and she didn't order rice either, so it made no sense. The whole experience was chaotic and not worth the price. Haidilao is supposed to be known for its top-tier service, but this location was questionable

I recommend to make reservations, to eat here, especially on weekends. It is very busy. Everyone is friendly and attentive. The hot pot itself was phenomenal. Everything was fresh, high-quality, and super flavorful. I loved how customizable the experience was, from the soup bases to the endless variety of ingredients. The sauce bar was also a fun touch--you can mix your own flavors to complement your meal perfectly! The ambiance is lively yet comfortable. The restaurant is clean, modern, and great for a fun night out with friends or family.

Always a good time at Haidilao. Especially, when celebrating a Birthday. If you let them know in advance, your table will already be decorated with birthday balloon and decorations at the table. You also get a free slice of birthday cake. You can order two soup bases or by quarter. We chose mushroom and tomato broth. Our appetizer was the crystal dumplings, which were incredibly delicious. We also ordered a couple meats, Wagyu chuck and Kobe Beef Belly. The seafood Platter is aesthetically pleasing and loved the options from Basa fish, shrimp, scallops, and baby octopus. Crystal Shrimp DumplingI also love the sauce and snack station. So many options to create the perfect dipping sauce. A lot of different snacks that are enjoyable to eat.

I lost my hot pot virginity here! I had no idea what I was missing. This place was really interesting and kind of overwhelming--in a good way. The food was delicious, the service was great, and if it hadn't been for our friends who are Chinese guiding us through, we would've had no idea how to survive. It was a lot to take in as a newbie. We were a little naïve going in, thinking that hot pot just meant hot soup. IMHO the term is a little misleading, especially to newbies who, like us, haven't done their research! For any beginners out there, you choose two broths (or two broths and two sections of boiling hot water), (maybe less if you're not with a big group, I don't know ) and then you cook your own meats and veggies at the table. I'm not even sure why you need boiling water, except we ended up using it to cook pasta. They had both gluten-free and regular pasta, so we used one section of boiling water for the regular pasta and the other for the gluten-free pasta to keep things separate.I'm gluten-free, and the only broth option I could have was the Tom Yum, which was really flavorful, so I didn't feel like I was missing out. The other broth we got was some sort of spicy broth that ended up being so spicy that some of my family couldn't handle it! (even though they usually can handle pretty spicy food ) Thankfully, everyone loved the Tom Yum, so it was a hit for everyone, gluten-free or not. We ordered several different kinds of meat, including pork and beef, along with tofu, spinach, and other mixed vegetables. At first, I was completely overwhelmed. It was packed, buzzing with excitement, and I had no idea what was going on. There were little robots roaming around, talking and delivering things. It felt futuristic and honestly kind of strange, especially as a first-timer. But as the night went on, I got more comfortable and really enjoyed the meal. One of my favorite parts was the sauce bar. I made my own mix with fresh garlic, cilantro, and green onions combined with the gluten-free soy sauce they provided upon request. I love raw garlic, and since I had a cold that night, adding all that garlic to my food actually made me feel so much better. By the time I left, I didn't feel sick anymore! The only thing I didn't expect was that hot pot isn't actually soup. You cook your food in the broth, but you scoop it out and eat it separately on a plate, so you're not drinking a bowl of soup. But since I wasn't feeling well and really wanted soup, I asked for a bowl of rice and a separate bowl and made my own little soup at the end, which was exactly what I needed. The restaurant is inside a gigantic shopping center, and parking is expensive--about $12 for two hours. But it's LA, so what do you expect?Would I go back? Definitely. At first, I was skeptical, but once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed the experience. Now that I know what to expect, I'd be way more confident on my next visit! I'll also look for hot pot restaurants near my home.

Haidilao is my favorite Chinese New Year tradition. Even though I'm far from my family, getting the tomato soup base always brings nostalgia and I don't think I'll ever not love this place. The location was beautifully decorated in preparation for the Year of the Snake with adorable cartoon snakes and 福 banners all over. The dancing noodles are also a favorite of mine, and I love how much the performer seems to enjoy doing it, especially when he whips the noodles at our faces . I haven't seen these desserts on previous visits so of course I had to order them and they did not disappoint. Service at this location was excellent. I've been here previously and there weren't enough Mandarin speakers, but this time there was a healthy mix of Mandarin and English speakers.

Been a while since we visited, but very glad we did. We realized how much we enjoyed coming here!We were 17th in line, but were seated in about 15 mins so no complaint there. Got seated and it was a busy Sunday evening! We loved the vibe as it was lively. We ordered quite a bit not remembering the portion size.. 4 different meats, baby squid, tripe, assorted mushroom combo, 2 rice bowls, full orders of Napa cabbage and bok choy just for 2 people.Everything was fresh and it tasted very nice.We also tried 4 different broths..all absolutely rich in flavor. We ended up cooking the rest and took it to go. Our bill was around $200, but the service was so great we added a 25% tip to it.They started using the robot to bring you foods as well, but I noticed it required staff attention from time to time. Overall, we'll definitely be back as we enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend to anyone who's thinking about it! 5 stars!
