Gjusta is a classic spot in Venice. If you go on the weekend, be prepared for a long line, but weekdays it's chill and a good place to sit and enjoy your meal or coffee. Parking is a bit hard as there is only street parking. The person taking our order was also very patient with us which we appreciated. We loveeeee all the pastries. Our favorites are the banana bread and bread pudding. The deli sides are also yummy. We love the sandwiches (Italian, smoked brisket bun mi - which is so unique). We want to try the meatball one next. We will return.

I love the vibe and the outside seating is tranquil and spacious. Pricey with a mandatory 20% tip which surprised us. I forgot about that. You're told when you pay. We had the soft scramble with toast.Very delicious. $14 plus 20% tip.

Pros-Really great atmosphere, the outside seating is gorgeous. Tons of unique, fresh food options. The french toast with cream and berries was scrumptious. Lot's of cool people around.Cons - The ordered system was really confusing and we stood inside for a good 10 minutes in line before finding out that was have to grab a numbered ticket from a pretty nondescript ticket machine to get out place in line. The matcha was AWFUL. I can't remember the last time I ordered something and couldn't finish it because it was so bad. Tasted like freshly cut grass. We also ordered a side of eggs to go with the french toast, which turned out to be $7 whole dollars for a total of like 2-3 eggs.

Really cool hidden gem! You won't be able to really tell just passing by but once you're inside you are transported to a whole new world. Fresh breads and pastries of all kinds. Some gluten free and vegan options. It might be a little overwhelming when you first enter because there's a lot of different things, lines, products going on but be patient. Take a number! First line us just for coffee and pastries/bread. Last two lines past the refrigerated cases are for ordering food and everything else. Pick up drinks at the end if it's to go. All kinds of pickled stuff, fermented, smoked fish and salmon, pizzas, sandwiches, cold cuts, egg breakfasts dishes, mezze platters, olives, salads... so hard to choose!! They have amazing jams, seasoned salts, granola and other nuts that are packaged to go. I got the seasoned salts when I grill my fish and it's just perfect.Plenty of outdoor seating and covered areas. You'll be surrounded by olive trees, wooden tables and benches, sunny and shady areas. So relaxing. Service is quick and efficient. The only sucky part is parking, you'll have to find street parking and sometimes it's packed but it's worth the experience.

Lunch was definitely great but it's very pricy for what you get! I enjoyed my Italian sandwich and the fries are cooked very well. I got the golden lemonade and it was pretty good but heavy on the turmeric!Would probably come back just for a sandwich, I'm not sure the sides are worth the prices!

WOW. just WOW. The food was beyond amazing. So fresh, and crunchy and yummy and all of the positive adjectives I could provide. I sat outside with my meal partner and the vibes were lovely--beautiful, sunny day, filled with people chatting and just having a good time overall. I was particularly lucky, because even though the line was doubled around twice, a girl was just leaving who was nearing the front and she gave us her number for line! Made it very nice that we did not have to wait that long. We ordered the tuna sandwich, a Mediterranean salad, an oat milk latte, a lemonade, a coffee marble cake, and a slice of fruit tart. Every part of it was scrumptious. I could not say more.

Best sandwiches ever. A little too pricey in my opinion but it is worth it if you are aware of the prices...

Love the outdoor dining option and honestly it was a huge decision factor. But we came here on a very busy Friday afternoon and we couldn't find an outdoor table. People were taking tables before ordering which makes those who already ordered have less time to find a table before their food is ready (stressful). As for food, the I wished the Bialy bagel exterior was a little softer. The labneh and smoked salmon was delicious. Recommend those toppings! Porchetta sandwich took a while to come out. It was on display. It was nice and meaty. It should have a dipping sauce. The bread was a bit dry. It is an ample portion and I was super full. Get the carrot cake. It is so moist and the thick frosting is so good. I'm hoping to try the croque madame next time! It looks delicious.

Came here for breakfast and always wanted to come again for lunch. One thing that sucked is apparently you can't change the sandwiches. I wanted the Italian, but didn't want fontina which sucked so I tried to make my own Italian. However, a lot of the ingredients I was looking for were not on the list. My Italian was: prosciutto, mortadella, salami, mayo, arugula, oil, red onion, and tomatoes for a total of $30!!!The bread they use is a perfect mixture of crunchy, soft, and I love that they grill the bread as well. The brisket bahn mi I enjoyed better probably cause it cost less half as much and tasted better. The meat and bread quality is just so good I understand the hype. Eating outside in Los Angeles is so nice we ended up getting some pastries that I thought were interesting such as the tahini croissant, date miso cookie, and pistachio cookie. All of them were rich and well balance of flavors, most of them being sweet and a little salty. Overall, make sure you get some pastries and don't make your own sandwich like I did.
