This is my second time coming here and I think the food is outstanding. It has a lot of unique touches and is very unique. It definitely has a lot of Asian influences but it is its own thing/. They defintiely use some unusual ingredients: like, the use some sort of brittle on a number of the savory dishes which I have never seen before. The chef is very focused on making sure there are lots of crunchy elements on every dish which makes for a fun eating experience. We got the foccacia. This is the only dish I would say is okay. Certainly tasty enough but nothing unique. We did get it because there really are not many carbs on the menu so we wanted to get something carby. We also got the beets. I don't even nornally like beets, but this dish was very good and vibrant and had lots of crunchy elements. The brussels were also tasty. The oysters were awesome. I loved the grilled flavor on them and also loved the smoked cocktail sauce. It was really good.Lastly the sea bass dish was outstanding. There is some sort of almond butter sauce which also has some browned butter and it was extremely good. The drinks were also outstanding (we got the one with the mole and the strawberry sumac egg white one). Our server was extremely friendly as well. And everything came out with no problem (we were in a rush to get to the theater so if you aren't in a rush I would tell the server to make sure they do space out the dishes).Lastly, we got the miso pineapple dessert. It was really good. Basically, it tastes like a riff on a pineapple upside down cake. It perfectly capped the end of our meal! The only complaint would be, you guessed it, it is a LITTLE bit expensive. The quality is top notch, but it is like $18 for two oysters. I mean, it is a crafted dish but still things would be better just a little cheaper. It definitely adds up.

I went here with some friends for brunch and I loved how the restaurant was decorated. Very open, spacious, and loved all the plants throughout the space. The servers were nice and attentive and food came out pretty quickly.I loved how almost every dish had some form of crunch, sweet, salty, acid, and heat. Spiced apple sourdough pancakes (4/5)I was very impressed with how light the pancakes were. Usually I'd be too full after eating pancakes but it sharing it with my grounds it was like a light dessert. I'm just not really a fall apple/cinnamon girl and I think substituting pear would have made it a little more interesting. My friends who have dined here before raved about the yuzu pancakes they had previously and I wish I got to try it!Crabby pork belly omelette (5/5)SO yummy. The omelette was cooked to perfection - soft, creamy, and light. The addition of the blackberries brightened and brought more dimension to the whole dish and the chili sauce was delicious. This dish was like a flavor firework in my mouth.Short rib chilaquiles (4/5)The whole dish was flavorful, however the short ribs were a tad too dry. The egg was deliciousPotato crepe (3/5)This was good, but compared to the other dishes it needed like a sauce as it wasn't as flavorful as the other dishes. I think even simmering like fried scallions could have given it some more flavor but I did love the concept

We came here on their last day of Dine LA two weeks ago on a Friday night. The inside was spacious. We sat outside and the heater kept us warm enough. There was free street parking available which I found since I had an early dinner reservation. Service was good. The food was just alright. We had the Dine LA Special prix fixe menu for $65 per person. It came with six dishes for two people to share. The dishes were:1. Roasted Beet2. Chickpea Fritters3. Chili Crunch Chicken Thigh4. Crispy Brussels Sprouts5. Sichuan Basted Bass6. Miso Pineapple CakeMy favorite was the chili crunch chicken thigh. The chicken had a nice texture and the flavor was perfectly balanced. The rest of the dishes were overly complicated in flavor and texture. While I appreciated innovation and creativity, I felt like the chefs took some of their dishes a bit too far. I enjoy a fresh take on traditional dishes with balanced flavors and textures. The dessert was disappointing as well. I am not a fan of pineapple and the cake was dense. I couldn't taste the miso at all. After all the hype, the food was a let down for me.

Our daughter bought us a gift card to Girl and the Goat. After reading some reviews, we discovered that another couple couldn't use their gift card because it was for the Chicago location. So our daughter called on the day of our reservation and discovered that the gift card she bought for us was also for Chicago. Luckily, she was able to exchange the gift card for the LA location, and I printed out the correct one before we left. If you received a gift card, please check. Also, the Girl and Goat should better show which location an online gift card purchase is for.We arrived as soon as they opened to a nice, spacious, industrial spot in the heart of the Arts District. We opted for the Dine LA menu at $65 per person and added 3 cocktails. This turned out to be a great choice and was definitely enough food for two.Our server was very friendly and a steady stream of food came out one after the other. The roasted beets were spectacular...and this is coming from someone who isn't a fan of beets. The balance of flavors and textures were exquisite. Probably one of the best dishes of the night and it instantly won us over to what G&G were trying to do.The other two favorites were the chili crunch chicken--perfectly cooked, smoky chicken with a great balance of salt, sweet and acid; and the sichuan basted bass with the most delicately cooked fish. The most forgettable for us was the chickpea fritters, which had a nice flavor but also an all encompassing dry and chalky texture. The crispy Brussels sprouts would have been enjoyable were they not so extremely salty. We couldn't finish this one. Each dish here is indeed a "flavor bomb" but that also means there is a very liberal use of sodium. Some might find this excessive and those with high blood pressure should definitely order carefully. The included dessert was the miso pineapple cake, which was delicious. The cocktails we got were the spa day and the ring of fire. Both were great, with the ring of fire being so delightfully spicy and gingery, we ordered another. The cocktails are about $20 each.Overall, our experience was great. We arrived early enough where there was no lag in dishes coming out and the service was very good throughout.Definitely on the pricier side but a perfect spot for a special night out.Street parking worked out for us.

While in town for The Grammys we were in search of a good meal and Girl & The Goat did not disappoint. Friends secured a reservation for our party of 9, and we had a blast. We started with a few cocktails at the bar. The hostess and bartender were friendly and attentive. Once our whole party arrived we were seated. The ambience is great. The collection of live plants throughout the restaurant is pretty spectacular, but back to the food. We ordered all of the vegetable dishes- roasted beets, carrots, chick pea fritters, brussel sprouts, green beans and grilled corn. As each dish was prepared it was brought to the table, so there was a steady stream of food. We were all impressed with the clever mix of spices and flavors. The only veggie that we could've done without was the grilled corn. We ordered all of the goat dishes on the menu- how could we not? The creamy goat liver mousse served with homemade biscuits and salsa was on point. The curry goat melted in your mouth. The goat belly was a first for all of us- superbly prepared. By the time the goat neck arrived, all of our bellies were full, but we pressed on. The tender meat slid off the bones. I think our server wanted us to eat a little faster, but all in all, it was a wonderful meal.

Make sure you make a reservation..Unfortunately didn't enjoy my experience as much as I did last time. - Espresso Mar-tea-ni 1.9/5A really light espresso martini, doesn't taste like the typical ones... it tasted kind of off? - Takin' care of bee's knees 5/5Full on force of honey and some sourness, I really enjoyed this cocktail. - Shrimp & Crispy Salad 3.2/5Not enough dressing but the salad was citrusy and fresh. Really enjoyed the crispy rice puffs it came with. They only give a couple pieces of overcooked shrimp. - Grilled Oysters 5/5Oysters were delicious with the cracker. Only 2 pieces sadly.... - Confit Goat Belly 2.2/5Tender but pretty small. - Pork Shank 2.0/5Worth the money? Definitely not. The pork wasn't tender, it was overcooked. I enjoyed the sides it came with. Paid parking in lot

My first dining experience at Girl &The Goat was in Chicago and I remember being blown away by the flavors of the dishes we tried. Luckily, I was able to try out the LA location and it was spectacular. I made the reservation online which I recommend doing to avoid waiting as walk in. I finally got to try this spot after hearing so much about it. The atmosphere is lively, and the service was friendly and attentive. One big plus is that there's plenty of parking nearby, which made getting there a breeze. As for the food, while some dishes were flavorful, I found many of them to be on the saltier side, which took away from the overall experience. My favorite item on the menu was the Ooey Gooey Cinnabon. I'd love to come back to try their dinner menu.

Major fan of Stephanie's restaurants! G&TG is probably one of our favs next to Cabra. Their dishes are so full of flavor and texture it's like a party in your mouth with every bite. I do have to say their dinner is significantly better than their brunch; the brunch was a bit underwhelming compared to dinner but still good. The service is always excellent and they bring items in a timely manner. The ambiance is to die for; it's almost like a wonderland garden. Theres a parking garage behind that charges 10$ or street parking.

Didn't get to try this well known place in Chicago, but got to try it here in LA! We made reservations but had to wait a little bit. While we wait to get seated, we were able to order some drinks at the bar. We were seated at the outside patio, that provided us with heaters. All the food was very tasty! Some a bit saltier than others. The naan and dips include a carrot hummus, kushi oysters paired with ponzu vinaigrette, king salmon poke were fresh with a miso sauce, duck tartare was unique with umami mayo, skirt steak included was cooked decently, and chocolate mousse dessert was decadent. We tried a good amount of dishes and would come back to try out the others!
