If you're looking for good food and generous portions, Flaming Wok delivers! They pack the food really well, so it stays fresh and hot. The flavors are on point, and you definitely get your money's worth.Service is fast, even though the place is always busy--a sign that it's a local favorite! The environment is strictly takeout, so don't expect dine-in seating. But if you're craving something delicious and convenient, this spot is a solid choice!

It's interesting how Yelp reviews go. If a restaurant is super friendly, a restaurant usually get rated 4-5 stars on Yelp. It usually means that the service good, but the food might not be.I was at this busy shopping center and I couldn't help but notice the steady stream of people getting food at this Chinese-American takeout spot.I checked Yelp and was curious why this Chinese-American restaurant had 4 stars on Yelp while neighboring Panda Express has only two stars. You walk in and the set up is like Panda Express. You have a steam table where you can choose a bowl or two-item combos.I went with the two-item combo with orange chicken and beef with broccoli as I wanted to compare the orange chicken to Panda Express and get some broccoli for lunch. You can choose your two entrees with either fried rice, chow mein, or both. The orange chicken here is lousy. Panda Express makes a superior orange chicken especially when made fresh out of their kitchen. The beef and broccoli was good, but they gave me more brocolli and a few pieces of beef. My favorite was their chow mein which is probably more superior than Panda Express. I would know for sure with a side-by-side comparison. I enjoyed the al dente feel and bite of their noodles. If I were to come back, I would only get the chow mein, a vegetable dish, and a protein which would not be their orange chicken. Their orange chicken seemed more soggy, smaller bread her pieces of that makes sense, and less crisp than Panda Express.Reason for the four stars at Flaming Wok. Based on my experience it's because your food is piled high inside the styrofoam box. People seem to like their generous portion sizes. The service isn't chatty or super friendly. You tell them what you want, pay, and be on your way.If you like Americanized Chinese food and generous portion sizes, this place is worth a try. A $10 2-item combo is sharable for two people if you're not too hungry and is a bang-for-your-buck meal in Arleta.

Hole in the wall place in a very busy plaza with plenty of parking. There's chairs to sit but the tables are taped all together. It's more of a take out rather than dine in place. Their service here is really fast and the workers are nice. They give a lot of food for what you pay for. Would come back here again.

I drive by this place often and from the street, it doesn't look like much, I decided to try this place out, place was nicer and cleaner than I expected, but it was takeout only, no dining table, the food was good and the portion was huge! The container barely closes, and the prices was cheaper than other Chinese places, this place was always packed with customers, the service was friendly and professional.

They pack a lot of food and for cheap as well. They dnt have a menu but everything is there to see and i do recommend the chicken mushroom and even the fried chicken is bomb! Only issue I have is the female Latina staff she's rude and and not welcoming as if she is bothered to be working there but only acts rude to female customers not the males !!!might want to fix that or remove her since she seems to be unhappy serving paying female customers

When you're starving and need your Chinese food fix, go to one of these mom and pop, hole in the wall spots, not that other overrated place with the black and white bear. They usually stack it to the ceiling which is what you want, or is it just me? If you get half and half (rice and chow mein,) just remember it's more like 80% rice and 40% chow mein. (I know that doesn't add up but trust me, when they serve you, you'll know exactly what I mean.) Let's keep it real, it's moreso quantity over quality at these type of spots. For the price, (about $11), you can't go wrong.

This place gives hefty portions, the box barely closes! Food is good. Service was fast despite the line. There are tables and chairs inside but they are stacked up so no option to dine in. Plenty of parking in the shopping center.
