Quick stop on the way home from playing tourist for the day - I was tired and hungry from not having eaten all day. Got sat immediately without reservations at 7pm on a Friday night which is always a special treat.Everyone there was super friendly and service was impeccable. Except we weren't offered a drink nor were we read the specials - which we didn't even notice until we had a different server at the table next to us going through everything. It was a blessing really as we just wanted to eat and leave.I had the penne arrabiata which is my go to when there are too many delicious choices. It was good. I could only eat half as it was a generous serving. Not the best one I've ever had but it hit the spot. However we got a bit of bread before the pasta with a dipping oil with herbs and sundried tomato and garlic that I wish I could have poured over my pasta - it was delish!Great atmosphere / I would love to go back and try something else.

I live close but haven't been back in over 10 years after a bad experience. I was super hungry and craving Italian so we decided to give Farfalla another shot. We got seated pretty quickly but similar to our last experience no one brought water or asked for drink order for over 5 minutes. At that point, we were also ready to order. Did I say I was super hungry ? We ordered the calamari, lasagna and gnocchi. They brought some (cold) bread and olive oil which worked to stave off my hangry mood. The large plate of calamari came and it was NOT good. Super chewy and the batter had no flavor and was way too heavy. I ate it though because, you know, still hungry. After a while, my lasagna came. It was barely room temperature, and the thick layer of mozzarella cheese was no longer melted. It might have been good if it was warm, but I will never know. However, the gnocchi was actually hot and tasty. Thank goodness because it was the only saving grace from the visit. Service was ok but can't say I will ever come back again no matter how hungry I am.

our neighborhood on Finley Avenue has been dealing with the toxic wood smoke from the pizza oven for many years. Every day at 12:30 they start burning wood and it fills our apartment building with smoke. You cannot leave the windows open and you cannot use your patio. You cannot go outdoors. The most shocking thing about all this is they're still burning the oven this week while we still have smoke from the terrible fires surrounding our city. When I complained about the smoke today to John Borghetti, the owner, he threatened to sue me for $10 million dollars. His son Xandre was equally rude to us. They don't live in this community therefore they really don't care about what happens here. Despite all the trauma of the smoke from the fires for them, it's just business as usual.Toxic wood smoke from commercial fires needs to be discontinued in. extremely bad for the environment.

The penne pasta was absolutely delicious. It was creamy but still dynamic and was such a comfort food. The pasta was cooked well and the sauce was perfect with it. I did not particularly love the pizza because I felt the cheese tastes too "milky" but my sister liked it and said it tasted fresh. The starting bread was super underwhelming along with the garlic confit. The bread was hard and cold. The pasta stole the show for sure!

Hadn't had Farfalla in years and ordered take-out from them this Sunday and was happily surprised.Started with the Contadina, light veggies with goat cheese that was seasoned perfectly and rich in flavor. The pastas were delicious! My favorite was the Farfalle al Salmone, bowtie pasta with peas served in a light pink sauce. The Tagliolini Gamberetti was also delicious and a bit lighter in flavor. My favorite pasta here was the Ravioli di Zucca, though I haven't had that in years. I did also order the apple tart which arrived cold, but I'm thinking that's cause this was an Uber Eats order. The flavor was still great and the apples delicious, I'm certain this must taste amazing fresh and warm. As far as delivery Italian food goes, this was a win! Parmesan cheese and bread on the side, dishes all packaged extremely well, and all items arriving fresh and tasty. Will definitely be ordering from them again and will gladly go in person as well.

What a gem in Los Feliz! The portions are big and reasonable. The ambiance is romantic and cozy. Authentic Italian feel to the place. Loved the wines and pastas. Ther service was quick. Will come back again!

Came here for dinner as I had been craving the pumpkin ravioli. Came here multiple times over the years and the pumpkin ravioli was so flavorful, and hadn't been in some time so stopped by. It was busy for a Monday evening but we were seated right away and waters were brought right out. Next came the bread with an olive oil mixed with garlic and other items. It doesn't necessarily feel the bread is made in house, but it's a basic little pre-meal snack. Our server went over the daily specials and mentioned a smoked mozzarella pizza, so we tried that along with the ravioli de zucca (pumpkin ravioli in a walnut and cream sauce). The pizza was decent but not necessarily something I will remember. It didn't have that fitness when holding it out, it flopped down like it was sad due to the heaviness of the cheese on the front end and it melting through, making the crust soggy. As for the ravioli, I had been craving it for some time but it just didn't hit like it used to. It tasted like something was missing from how it used to be prepared. Really can't put my finger on it but it just didn't carry that same flavor it had in the past, and that was a disappointment. Overall, an ok meal but something was just off with both dishes, unfortunately.

This place is a hidden gem. The pizza and pasta was incredible and service was excellent. Wine list is also on point! I would highly recommend if in the area!

I had a confirmed dinner reservation for Valentine's Day at 7:15, through Resy. I received a text message the day before asking me to confirm, which I did. I received another text reminder an hour before my reservation. We arrived promptly at 7:15 and there was a long line of people waiting for tables. I stepped inside to check in for my reservation and was told by a very irritated host that we needed to step outside and wait in line for a table with everyone else, reservations or not. So we left and managed to get two seats at the bar in a great Mexican restaurant that recently opened nearby (Encanto). Honestly, we owe a debt of gratitude to the rude host at Farfalla for helping us discover Encanto. Farfalla's food has always been marginal, at best. But it's on a charming block in Los Feliz with several great restaurants nearby. My advice is to skip Farfalla and book a table at one of these great new places that have opened up and down that stretch of Hillhurst, including Cirvico 2064 and Encanto. If you want more casual old school Italian, Little Dom is just a few doors down and it's a neighborhood gem. Alcove is also a highly recommended restaurant, bar and bakery nearby.

I had a good time dining on Farfalla's cute patio, even though I do have mixed feelings about its cuisine.The service was really nice and the food came out very quickly - and both of our pastas were delicious. I love that they have many vegetarian options.But then the dessert came out and it was just weird.. we ordered the cheesecake and it was warm, almost hot. Felt like it was just thrown in the microwave and served to us right away. It left me confused.Other than that, it's a pretty nice spot for dinner :)
