At the end of every single year... It's always the Same. Exact. Story. This next upcoming year... -I'm gonna be more healthy.... -Drink less... -Save more money.... -Be more forgiving... -And eat way less tacos!!!Ok, that last one is a straight out lie and I will do everything in my power to do the COMPLETE OPPOSITE! True Story Alert, True Story Alert, True Story Alert On January 1st 2025 (the very first day of the new year), my wife, the kids and I decided we wanted to get out of the house and take advantage of the fact that we were all off from work/school. We decided to take a little drive to Los Angeles and see what was happening at the Grove/The Farmers Market in Los Angeles.Upon our arrival, we walked around the various shops and we were amazed at how many people had the same exact idea we did. After walking through the grove and having no luck at seeing something that we wanted to eat at the Farmers Market, suddenly a sign from the heavens appeared right before our very eyes... "El Granjero Catina"Well...I may have dropped out of Spanish in high school... And I'm still looking for La Biblioteca But trust me when I tell you that I am 100% fluent in the language of Tacos and that my wife has NEVER, EVER, NOT ONCE is her entire adult life missed the opportunity to get a fresh made Margarita and she wasn't going to let the first day of 2025 change her mind even though we both agreed to drink less. And as fast as you can stay Dos Carne Asada Tacos con cebolla y Cilantro y salsa picante, con un lado de arroz y frijoles por favor....I got us a table so we could get our tacos y Margarita on. (Don't worry, I was the driver so I only had a big glass of LA's finest tap water). --------------------------Now let's get into the carne y papas (the meat and potatoes) of this review. First, Let's get one thing straight.I could eat Mexican Food (particularly tacos)... every. single. day. of. the. week. Yes, some of you wait for Tuesdays and I get that. But have you ever had tacos on a random Monday?? Or even snuck some street tacos in on a Wednesday afternoon, the day after taco Tuesday already passed? Amazing right!!Yeah, tacos in my humble opinion are not only the heart and soul, but they are also the foundation of the Mexican cuisine. They are flavorful, they fit perfectly between your thumb, pointer and middle finger (if you just looked down at your hand and did the imaginary taco grab to confirm I was telling you the truth... We can be besties! But more important than flavor or their perfect petite size... Is that they are USUALLY dirt cheap! Did you hear what I just said??? Dirt Cheap!!! Sorry, but I gotta say it... El Grannero Cantina.... What the Hell is wrong with you!!??I get that you are in Los Angeles so charging those "L.A. prices" for the city vibe and the California Dreamin' sunshine has some value, but... $22 bucks for 2 steak tacos? $25 bucks for 2 Birra Quesa Tacos??$18 bucks for a Cadillac Margarita?? Ay Ay Ay Y'all better find the Biblioteca before I do, look for a Spanish diccionario and look up the word "Ridículo" en español cause Y'all are Loco en la Cabeza. And charging for chips & salsa?? That's Mexican Restaurant Rule #1... It should be Free99. Cmon Fam, you know this!! All in all...The ambiance was o.k., the vibe was aight, and food was decent...But your prices left a sour taste in my mouth and sadly my wallet felt my pain too.Hey, I'm all about second chances...I may just come back one day to give your Happy Hour a shot. Till then...If you find the Biblioteca, can you please tell me where it is! Thanks ;)

El Granjero - Yikes, overpriced and charge you for everything! Have you ever been to a Mexican restaurant that charges you for salsa?Service was great but be cautious of extreme overselling to pump up the total check! Food way overpriced and meh, taste and quality poor at best. Many other options for better quality food and prices nearby. However if you want to see and be seen the outdoor seating is nice but you'll pay for it!

It was an overdue visit to El Granjero, and even though my friend wanted to go somewhere else, I convinced her to come here and I'm glad I did. She loved it as much as I did. That green fluffy rice, and the surf & turf fajitas were so well seasoned that I will recommend everyone to order them. Don't forget their churros with caramel sauce. Excellent service, pls tell chef we LOVED everything! We are definitely coming back!
