Venturing beyond San Pedro, I discovered a gem of a Chinese restaurant with a serene ambiance and truly authentic flavors. The classics--curry chicken with potatoes, beef and broccoli, Chinese broccoli, egg drop soup, and white rice--were expertly prepared and deeply satisfying. Our server, Iris, was warm and attentive, adding to the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. A must-visit for those craving genuine Chinese cuisine. Thanks for reading

When it comes to traditional Chinese food, look no further than the bustling city that is Chinatown-LA! After getting a reccomendation to this location from my girlfriend's father, we decided to check it out on a sunny afternoon weekday. We were quickly seated and ordered the traditional classics: The Hainan Chicken and the Wonton Soup with Egg Noodles. The Hainan Chicken was served cold, akin to traditional Chinese cooking, which offered steaming hot rice, served with vegetables, cold Chicken w/ skin and chicken sauce. The sauce offers a sweet and aromatic texture to the dish, and the chicken is immersed with a packet a flavor! The Wonton Egg Noodles were super delicious and plentiful, enough to share for 2. The technique of the wonton wrapping was evident through the 20+ folds for the wontons, each with a delicate touch. Come to East Garden if you're looking for a quick meal at an affordable price!

Best Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Much better than the ones on the Main Street. Delicious food, very satisfied with the classic noodles, Honey Walnut shrimp and spicy pork chop. Came on Chinese new year and will come for every Chinese new year. Good portion size for pricesFood came out quick and no wait. Nice Chinese music in background.

Great place for family style Chinese food. Parking is easy - only $5 for all day. Service is fast, food comes out almost immediately upon ordering. Love the old school vibes when inside. I really liked the pea sprouts and whole steamed chicken. Definitely come here with a big group to try everything!

Good Cantonese food! Enjoyed the Dim Sum items and the entrees. Probably the best I've had in some time.We went with some cousins and we all enjoyed it. The Chow Mein was perfect. The Beef dry noodles were enjoyable. I especially liked the Har Gow and the molten bao with yellow creme inside.

This spot offers decent prices, with most items ranging from $10 to $17 and small dim sums around $5. I liked the spare rib. The food arrived quickly, about 10 minutes after ordering. The flavors have an interesting old-school style, with less sodium and oil than typical dishes, making it a lighter option. Parking is free on Sundays on the street; had no trouble finding a seat around noon. Casual spot.

Came here because it was the only restaurant that was opened at 8:20 am. We ordered the fish congee & soy sauce chow mein combo, roast duck noodle soup and sweet & sour pork with rice. The food took 40 minutes to come out but the server didn't tell us beforehand it was going to take that long. The congee & chow mein combo was only $9.99, which was quite worth the price & they were good too. The sweet & sour pork tasted authentic without any bones in all their pieces. The roast duck noodle soup reminded me like I was back in Chinatown in NY, the broth was flavorful & duck was tender. Besides the longer than normal wait time, all the food tasted great along with the cheap cost. We'll def come back again if we're ever in LA craving Chinese food for breakfast :p

I stopped by on a Thursday evening around 8pm on the way up to West Hollywood. My husband and I had our dog with us, so we had to get our order to go. I saw that they were putting away chairs at tables that were outside right before we pulled up, so outdoor seating might be an option earlier in the day.We got the half Peking duck ($27.99), snow pea leaves with garlic ($17.99), beef chow fun with vegetables and gravy ($13.99), and fried tofu with spicy salt ($12.99). I had to try a piece of fried tofu while it was still fresh, and it burned my mouth, but it was so worth it!!! It was so delightfully crispy and savory with the most silky smooth and soft interior. The half Peking duck was just okay considering the taste and price, but everything else was such a great deal considering the huge portion size. The snow pea leaves were tender, delicious and loaded with garlic. Beef chow fun had good wok hei despite being the wet version (which is a bit harder to find having wok hei flavor in general), so I highly recommend it. They kindly packed the noodles separately from the gravy so that it wouldn't get all soggy. The Yelp check-in offer for a free egg waffle is old, and they no longer honor it.Parking is either street parking with a pay meter or adjacent parking lot for a flat rate. The restaurant was pretty empty when I came by (granted it was a weekday night), but people are definitely sleeping on this place!! This place is comparable to restaurants in 626/SGV and definitely better than anything I have had in OC, so be sure to stop by the next time you're in the area!

Disclaimer: I am subtracting a star for missing a dish that I ordered. They confirmed the dish when I initially ordered but later they denied I ever ordered it. They serve a variety of Chinese dishes and some dim sum during opening- 1 pm. I recommend eating family style because one dish would not be enough for one person. They are an average price for a normal Chinese restaurant ($10-15) per entree. Their store is very large and they also have seating in another room. I also subtracted another star because although they have a separate room for additional seating, they put families who they think do not speak Chinese. I also subtracted another star because service will make you wait for at least 30 min for your food (so make sure when you go there to order right away or go when you are not hungry). They will also be faster if you are either a local who have rapport, an influencer or a family friend. Their food is very flavorful but watch out for their seafood (I had an allergic reaction to their walnut shrimp).I would not wait for this restaurant.Edit: My entire family got food poisoning.

We drove by Chinatown and decided to look for a place to eat a little something. The food was served hot just the way I like it. The beef congee texture was not too thick and it's perfectly seasoned. The beef Cheung fun is good, but not easy to grab with chopstick due to the skin's stickiness. The chicken feet was hot and yummy. The price is so good compare to other places. They have many other dishes ok the menu. This place is nothing fancy but it's worth coming. If you are craving something that would totally hit the spot, this is the place for you.
