Dune Downtown

Dune Mediterranean Restaurant in downtown LA is a culinary gem. All their dishes have such vibrant flavors. Dune offers a diverse menu that highlights the rich traditions of Mediterranean cuisine. I've tried a few of their dishes such as their house-made pita with hummus , grilled chicken, falafel, and lamb plate. Everything on this plate is sooooooo delicious. BTW the portion sizes are pretty large! I've only ordered takeout around lunch time but upon arrival the ambiance is always warm and welcoming. The staff are always nice and helpful! This restaurant is a must-visit if you loveMediterranean food and you're looking for something light for lunch!

Make sure to keep your eye out for this place or you will likely miss it in the fashion district. Safe parking can be pretty tough to find in this area. As my group made our way to the restaurant we were warned by a friendly pedestrian to keep close to one another and an eye out for our safety as the area can be a bit risky after 5pm. Ladies be sure to be alert when visiting the area. The restaurant is a cute little place. Big emphasis on the little. As soon as you walk in you place your order and pay for your order. Then you are directed to sit if you are dining in. The indoor dining area is super small and is not necessarily friendly towards groups bigger than two. Outside seating may provide more space but not too much more. Food is promptly made once ordered and it's definitely delicious! My group ordered two hummus and grilled chicken plates along with an order of fries and the ROASTED BRISKET GYRO. The plates were very generously served and could easily feed 2 or leave some for leftovers. The chicken and hummus were very flavorful. The ROASTED BRISKET GYRO was the only option that was lacking a little flavor. It needed a bit of more sauce to help the dry brisket but it wasn't too bad.

While in DTLA, I decided to grab some lunch at Dune. It's been on my to try list since they've been in Atwater, so I'm glad I finally had a chance to try it here. I opted for the meze plate to go. The food was really delicious and I actually really enjoyed it, however, I would've enjoyed it more if the items were in small different dishes. By the time I got home, my to go plate was everywhere and everything was a little mushed. Both the chicken and the falafel in the meze plate was really good. My favorite was their pita bread. OMG, it was so good! It was dense and rich in flavor. I might wanna try the sandwich next time I'm at Dune just to try something different.

The falafel plate is so delicious and fulfilling in size. The sauces add more flavor to the plate. There are many other options you can get as a vegetarian. The falafel plate is all the hype! This spot in DTLA is easy for online ordering and pick-up.

We came in with a group of 5 people for lunch at 12 PM and ordered the Hummus & Grilled Chicken Plate. The plate has tons of flavor from every bite, with each ingredient serving its own purpose. Everything was perfectly balanced. Nothing too salty, sweet, spicy, or savory. The portion sizes are pretty large. There are small outdoor and indoor seating, with some tables only able to hold 2 people at a time. Summary:- CLEANLINESS. Very clean and organized. There are some tables inside and outside. - COSTS. $$ Decently priced for the quality and amount served. (About $22 per plate at the time of this writing.)- CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff were very fast and professional.- FOOD QUALITY. The ingredients were freshly prepared. You can tell none were prepackaged or left sitting there for hours.- FOOD QUANTITY. A large-sized portion.- WAIT TIME. We went in around 12 PM, which is generally the peak lunch time. Quick service. 10-15 Minute wait.

Quite literally the key to my heart. Grab me some Dune and I'm yours forever. This might just be my ultimate Mediterranean spot of all time. It's an absolute MUST-visit whenever I'm in the city. I'll brave downtown traffic and it's horrendous parking just for a taste. While all their proteins are amazing, their falafel is what keeps me coming back! My usual is their Hummus & Falafel Plate with a side of French Fries (obvi!). Everything on this plate is simply *chefs kiss.* Endless pickled veggies, fragrant herbs, fresh falafel, warm pita, and SO much hummus. Insanely flavorful, fresh, and zesty. It's impossible to have a bad bite.

Had a nice meal at this cozy restaurant! The decor is great and timeless. Loved the color theme. Service was also great. Greeted with a smile. Say right away. And they checked on us every so often. Food was also good. We shared the Brisket sandwich and the meza plate. The brisket was great but it felt a bit dry in some bites. I would recommend adding more sauce to this. The plate was also good, but I was not a fan of the pickled turnips. Would not go out of my way to go here, as it is expensive, small, and hard to find parking. But if I'm in the area, it's a great option!

Stopped by for a quick dinner and was so happy with what I ordered. The food was so fresh and delicious! I would definitely recommend this place. The decor is also really cute.

Trust the reviews, the food is great and this spot is so charming. I ordered the pickled beet sandwich and didn't really know what to expect. The bread was amazing, there was texture, and the flavors were so good. My husband got the fried chicken plate and was in love. Would be here every week if we lived in the area. 10/10!

New Management and renovations since last we stepped through these doors. Make sure you pay your meter cos you're gonna want to sit down and enjoy the vibes here. Owner has a special music playlist going that paired nicely with our organic herb falafel pita. A unique take on the pita which was shared and deconstructs on our plates. You must ask for the special sauces if you're familiar with them.
