We secured a reservation at Dudley Market for a Sunday at 4 PM and were seated just a few minutes past. The restaurant's vibe is trendy and upbeat, with decor that complements its location right next to the Venice boardwalk perfectly.Fortunately, we were seated at the booths near the entrance, which were spacious and comfortable. I should note that if I had been seated at a regular table, I might not have enjoyed it as much, as they are quite close together. I also wouldn't have liked sitting outside. Our waiter was extremely attentive and personable. Have you ever experienced in LA where the staff can make anything feel awkward? Not here. He helped us select a wine from a well-curated list, though I wish the wine list wasn't on a QR code. For our entrees, we split the Kampachi Crudo and each ordered a burger. While I appreciate their focus on product quality by keeping the crudo simple, I felt the dish could have benefited from some citrus. The flavors were a bit flat, but the fish quality was excellent. The burger was definitely the star of the show. The wagyu beef has a rich umami flavor that keeps you coming back for more. It truly is excellent and allows the other ingredients to complement it perfectly. I can see it not being for everyone due to its stronger flavor, but it definitely was for me. Do I think it should be $25? Yes, if it came with fries. That's my only gripe.

1 star for the food 1 star for my hopes and dreams. Came on a Saturday night for 5 people at around 6:30 pm and the hosted said theres 95 people ahead of us (ridiculous, just close the queue at that point) but no problem we just went somewhere else for dinner. Next day Sunday we came back at 3:40pm for two and was told it was 20 minute wait. We ended up waiting an HOUR after i repeatedly checked in with the hosted. She seated 3-4 separate parties in open tables. Mind you they visibly got here after we had been waiting. We had enough and mentioned that fact to the hosted who promptly cleared a table and had us seated (lol) We even had to wait for someones attention to get a menu and water to which we ordered a scallops, a burger, fish sandwich and fries. Each item was served in that order and within 15 minutes of each other. We didn't even bother with drinks. Can anyone tell me why I'm getting my fries LAST after we finished everything? Also, this is a wine bar and they have different prices for each bottle; retail vs. in house meaning if u buy an (overpriced) bottle you get a $25 corkage fee tacked on EACH bottle if they open it and put it for you to enjoy there. So yes you can drink while you wait on the curb for minimum an hour for your table but we'll be greedy and charge you EXTRA for doing so. A corkage fee is normal when you bring outside wine but tasteless when you're buying an already $110 bottle FROM THEM. Definitely wouldn't come here when hungry because you'll just end up being so hangry no matter how good the food is bad service will always leave the more lasting impression. Ambience is decent theres music and the hum of people talking is so loud you could barely hear your party in front of you -sitting outside with a view would've been nicer. The servers didn't check on us just stopped by to swiftly drop off food. This is a VERY small restaurant so for the sake of your reputation & for the price point it is; please get staff with proper customer service skills and capabilities in handling a fast paced environment. Seriously.

Had been looking to check this place out for awhile! Heard great things about the burger and that certainly delivers. I had looked at the website, the instagram and their yelp page and it didn't look like they took reservations. So I went early with my friend. Upon arrival around 6pm the place was mostly empty and we were surprised to hear if we had a reservation and if we'd like to join a waitlist. This was a very frustrating experience because I had certainly done my due diligence to see if it was possible to make a reservation. The host said they usually don't do reservations but they started doing it recently. Had no good explanation as why it wasn't noted on the website/yelp/instagram. He didn't seem to quite understand it himself. We ended up getting offered a table as long as we promised to be done within an hour... this really soured our first experience here.Has a great ambiance for a date or a chill night to catch up. I dig the wine bar vibe and vinyls. We saw seats at the bar open up and asked if we could be transferred there. But nope! Those were reserved too apparently so we left a bit preemptively. The food and wine are nice indeed. Burger lives up to the hype. The sea bass crudo is a bit over powered by the charred scallion oil it's paired with. Hard to say if I'd go out of my way to come back here given the strange experience with the host. It was a bit embarrassing for me in front of my date.

Came here early on a Friday for dinner and had a relatively short wait. The indoor ambiance is very cozy; the outdoor setting is off of an alley, but is a block off the beach.I believe they're known for their wines; they are definitely "funky" newer-age wines that aren't exactly aligned with my palette, but seems to be the trend right now.Seafood options were truly and utterly fantastic. The scallop crudo on the shell with yuzu and jalapenos were easily the best scallops I've ever had: the quality of the scallops and the way it was prepared could, in no way, improve.Oysters followed suit in terms of excellence, japaneses sweet potato with curry was unique, the Kanpachi left a little to be desired. The burger looked incredible, will definitely give that a shot next time.Would come with a smaller group as it's not a big space, great for date night or a small get together.

We went for dinner and waited awhile for a table and took a spot at the bar. It was chilly so a lot of people waiting for tables ordered drinks are piled in along the sides of the restaurant. Definitely made it feel tight and we had people standing behind us for our whole meal.We ordered the burgers and crudo. The crudo was good but salty! Burgers were pretty good as well! I had heard a lot about the burgers and am not sure they were my cup of tea but definitely the best bite of the night!

Place is very cute inside. It had loud music playing, which was a plus for us, because we have loud kids and our friend had their baby. Food was pretty good. My favorite was probably the collar. The oysters and scallop was fresh, however the yuzu sauce it was paired it was meh. The kampachi sashimi was alright. The roasted squash was okay and their burger was good. Overall, for the price, I've had better food. Plan on having a lot of time for lunch because service takes a long time and so does the food.

Located on a quiet alley near the Venice Boardwalk, Dudley Market provides a unique atmosphere of can and charm faintly resembling European bistro with its outdoor tables facing the Pacific. An added bonus was watching one of its fish suppliers unload his catch of vermillion rockfish from near Santa Rosa island, fine specimens all. Service was prompt and helpful if not a bit loquacious. On to the food - the bluefin crudo was good, even though next time I would order the sashimi to fully savor the fish without the added flavors from the sauces. The charred cabbage was interesting incorporating some smoky tastes to the crispness of the leaves. After seeing hundreds of pounds of beautiful rockfish unloaded in front of us, we were disappointed that the "filet" was about 5 oz of fish that frankly was OK but not the sublime flavor and texture I would expect from prime fresh fish expertly prepared as we have experienced in Europe and in leading US restaurants. At $32, this was a big disappointment. As far as the beverages, the wines were well curated with a generous pour. There were no nonalcoholic drinks available. The most attractive feature by far was the approach. There is ample parking available near Main Street; take the walk streets a few blocks to the restaurant and pretend that you are in a charming European village. The area surrounding the restaurant is quiet at night but might get busy in the summer. The final advice is to avoid the crowds since seating is limited and the environment is best experienced when it is peaceful and serene.

Get there early - we were quoted 1.5 hour wait time and it took us over 2 hours to get seated. They let you enjoy wine while you wait - but can seem like a scam to get you to buy additional wine. Once seated, the experience is fabulous and the fish is so fresh. All of food was delicious but the long waits can be very difficult.

I was in the area after dinner and finally decided to stop by Dudley Market--a spot I'd been wanting to visit for a while.Vibe: It was packed on a busy Friday night. The moody, dimly lit atmosphere paired with loud music created an energetic vibe, but the music was a little too loud for me. Sitting at a small table with my husband, it was hard for me to hear him at times.Service: The staff was friendly but a bit slow, which was understandable given how crowded it was.Food: We tried the fish sando and the citrus salad. The fish sando was like an elevated, far better version of a filet-o-fish--fluffy bun, spicy pickled jalapeños, a hint of yuzu, and perfectly cooked fish. The citrus salad though, YUM!! The combination of citrus, miso, peanuts, and fried garlic was mind-blowing. They also have an extensive wine list available for both retail and dining. While I wouldn't come here for a big meal, it's a great spot for a lively night out with a glass (or bottle) of wine and some small yummy nibbles.

This place is a vibe, it's really cute inside and I love the outdoor section. It feels like you're in Europe.I love Dudley, and the food is amazing, but I feel like the portion sizes don't quite match the price--it's a bit steep for what's offered, even though everything is high quality. They also have a great wine selection, but it's on the pricey side too.The burger is my favorite in town, and the fish is always super fresh. I was disappointed to see they took the shrimp tacos off the menu since that was my go-to!Just a heads up, you'll need to park in the lot off Rose Ave."
