This place doesn't disappoint whenever I come here. The Peking duck is legit worth it. Remember to order an hour in advance by calling it in. Service is good. But you don't come for quality service. I come for the duck!

Ate here for dinner with a reservation for 5 at 7PM on a Saturday night, restaurant was bustling and crowded and had to wait an extra 20 minutes to be seated. We were seated in the squished long deserted part of the restaurant that was cramped and surrounded by crying babies and constant moving plates engulfing the atmosphere unable to hear anything. In addition although the table has a service button, the servers were inadequate and would forgot what we ordered or give it much later such as ice water which they gave after 20 minutes of us asking. As for the food, similar to all the reviews, the duck is great and we ordered the duck two ways, traditional and having the bones fried in a cumin seasoning that was excellent. We also ordered the steak and onions that was juicy and flavorful, the truffle lobster, string beans, fried rice, and jellyfish salad. The duck and string beans came very well quickly however the fried rice was one of the last dishes to come and offset the entire meal as rice is necessary for the base of meals. In addition although the food was good, the prices are incredibly expensive and in my opinion not worth it compared to the many other choices for similar or less prices.Overall, the restaurant is nothing special as the service is ordinary, the ambiance is degradable, and the food is good but not worth the price.

We arrived to the restaurant at 7 PM, which is 2 1/2 hours before the restaurant closed. I was disappointed that there was no more duck and the waitress stated that the chef that cooks the duck had left for the day. We were weirded out that a restaurant named "Duck House" was out of duck as well as the only chef that could cook the duck was gone by 7 PM. We ordered a plate of noodles, green beans and rice, which were really good. We also ordered a plate of pork, but the waitress did not put in the order and was making it seem as if we never ordered the dish. She was rushing when taking our order as she made us feel that we were wasting her time. Very disappointed as a first time experience here. I understand now that for most of the items in the menu by wanting to eat some duck, you must be there earlier throughout the day or place an order before arriving. I just did not appreciate the service that was giving to us as we only ate appetizers for the night.

The main focus here is the traditional style of preparation, puffing up the skin for a crispy wafer-like crunchy texture. The crispy skin is separated from the tender duck meat. We definitely made a good call for a reservation with two peking ducks. Other decent dishes are oyster mushroom bok choy and black pepper filet mignon. Our family has been coming here for long time way, and now it looks refreshed and more polished than before. We came here to celebrate a family birthday, and we were seated at a big table in a room for more private ambiance. The service was great with desserts and cake at the end too!

Located out in Monterey Park, is a fabulous Chinese cuisine, it has a traditional look for a restaurant, with ample seating. The parking lot is scarce with availability, so you'll have to park on the street. We ordered the Traditional Roasted Duck (24 hours in advance), with pancake, scallion and cucumber. Very good and crispy. They placed the serving plate on top of a bowl of hot water to keep the food warm, that was genius. Loved the deep rich flavors that were combined to make this scrumptious meal. We also ordered the Filet Mignon cubes in black pepper sauce. The beef cubes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tender with every bite, loved every bite. The Sauteed string bean with ground pork and dry shrimp was a nice addition as it help round out the flavors. The Dragon Ball that is lightly fried fish balls with shrimp roe's filling was a surprisingly delicious treat that added to our experience. The Crispy scallion pancake was a must have as it gave the full experience needed to enjoy this hefty meal. The service was faster than expected, as this place is on the higher end of quality food, which is a good thing. I would definitely come back, just because the flavors are so good.

I feel the overall yelp review on this restaurant is fair. While Peking Duck isnt bad and price is pretty reasonable. Waiters repeated reminders of tips in " cash only" is kinda unprofessional a bit too demanding

Dined in for dinner on 12/7/24.We ordered the banquet set meal for 10 people. Cost was $588, which in my opinion seems pretty expensive. It came with peking duck, 4 combination appetizer, duck soup, filet mignon, crunchy mayo shrimp, lobster, fried rice, crispy boneless whole rock cod w/ sweet and sour sauce, vegetables and a sweet egg drop soup.Highlights: The peking duck had pancake, shredded scallion and cucumber and it was really good! Super fresh and the taste was superb. I would recommend to just get this dish! Filet mignon beef and crunchy mayo shrimp were delicious as well. No complaints for those dishes. A lot of flavor and cooked just right. The fried rice was tasty as well. It came with big slices of meat and the flavors worked well together.Dislikes:The rock cod fish tasted really fishy, even with all of the sweet and sour sauce, it still couldn't mask that taste. The dessert was weird because it had alcohol in the egg drop soup which was really strong. Not a good taste.

FINALLY made it to The Duck House. Come here for the Peking Duck, and order ahead. You have to let them know you're coming or you won't be getting their namesake. Very very friendly staff. Doesn't look too nice from the outside but once you go in, it's a narrow, small restaurant but it's cozy and homey. Can't go wrong here, their ong choy, seafood and crab soup, walnut shrimp were all such a delight!

Take my word as someone who has eaten a lot of Peking Duck, Duck House in Monterey Park is one of the best spots in LA county to enjoy Peking Duck. It's a great restaurant to bring your family for a special dinner or gather your friends for an indulgent meal of traditional Chinese cuisine. The Peking Duck is, without a doubt, the star of the show. It's in the name of the restaurant after all! They serve their duck here just like in Beijing, with 荷葉餅 delicate thin "pancakes" as they call them here, shredded cucumber, scallions, and duck sauce. They separate the duck skin and meat, as it is the same traditional way of serving Peking Duck in Beijing, where this dish originated! This highlights the duck's crispy skin and tender meat so you can enjoy the best of both worlds! Then, you can wrap it all together, giving you that "perfect bite." It's an experience as much as it is a meal! I've had duck prepared Cantonese style with the buns, too, and please don't make me choose my favorite!I've also tried a variety of dishes that stand out here like the Chiu Chow Style Steamed Seasonal Whole Black Cod, and more. All the dishes are as rich in history as they are in flavor and I do think us Chinese folks are great with naming dishes in the most appetizing but hilarious ways! This is one meal that will leave you feeling absolutely "duck-lighted!" No seriously, give them a try, and remember to order the duck 1 hour in advance so they can prepare, and you'll be in for a real treat.

I've been here twice and both for... their duck! Surprise, surprise. The first time, we ordered "duck three ways". It came in the form of a soup, then sliced, and then inside of a stir-fry. We left thinking we should've done it one way. There wasn't that much meat and you don't see the whole thing. They line the skin around a mound of meat. The skin is the best part - the duck meat was mediocre. The second time I came, I ordered duck one way for take-out. After paying $80, we got the same amount with the same presentation (in a pizza box, which is pretty clever) and were very disappointed. It's great because their duck isn't pre-marinated in gluten so I can eat it safely but the experience was a let down. If anyone else knows where I can get gluten free duck, please let me know!
