After a long day at work if you just need a solid meal, a glass of wine and no LA bs this is a good spot. Was the only one in there at 9 but the loner in me loved that. They have a cool looking lounge in the back i hope they open it after the 15th!

There was nobody in the place at 6:30 on a Thursday afternoon, but the waitress was so kind, we decided to stay and have one anyway. She made me a decent Bacardi Gold and Soda with lemon. I drained the glass quickly, and my partner and I went searching for other bars with a bit more life.If I were staying at the hotel, I would come here for several slogs, using this quiet spot to write or get some work done over a few drinks.

i didnt know if this place was still open because there hasn't been a Yelp review since 2018... But it is open! First step in... the restaurant and whole premises was immaculate! They also have a bar in the back. We came here for breakfast. there wasnt too many customers. Service and breakfast were good, no complaints. I ordered an omelet and it came with no cheese??? WTF?? all good tho, because it came out fresh and tasty. Prices are reasonable. Owner was in there too, owns the motel on the outside. And boy does he love to talk! enjoy!

Great service and cheapest meal we've found since visiting LA. Would highly recommend if you're visiting on a budget. Food was pretty good too.

Nice clean cafe, decent food. The real draw of this place is the hidden bar in the back. It has an awesome 70s vibe, like an old den or basement. Bottle beers, some wine and liquor. Old beer signs and an ancient jukebox turned karaoke machine. Super comfy lounge chairs. This is a great place to spread out, have a beer, eat some good Midwestern food and watch tv. I guess they have a comedy show here on Wednesdays. Everything in this place, even the bathrooms and the pudding parfaits in the display case- all awesome. The owners are great. Check this place out, the bar is totally worth it.

I thought I was a balls-out Yelp hero strolling to the back door, because I'd read THAT'S WHERE THE BAR IS. So I tried to open the door there, and it was locked. I heard a tentative starting from the inside. A muffled voice. A muffled female voice, then, urgent and questioning. I hesitated on whether to run. The door opened. A genial, well-fed grandfather. Nothing to fear. "Um... here for a drink at the bar?"A smile. A nod. "Ah, yes. But... we are closed for renovations."I peek around him and into the sawdusty wasteland within. Two family members sit and watch me, unsure as to my motives. "I see that."A pause, a beat, and they laugh. I laugh too, a Ray Liotta laugh. Then they close the door. This is easily my favorite bar in Hollywood, five stars, would return.

Little mom and pop type of diner, owned by the same owner as Sunset Dunes Inn, open to anyone (guest or off the street). The owner and his wife are sometimes there, friendly, open, will greet you. Food is standard diner fare, pancakes, eggs, omelets, and dinner options at decent prices. It's clean and neat and looks recently renovated. Bathroom and seats look clean and new.

Checked this place out on a Wednesday night because I had a restaurant.com gift certificate. Walked in and it was empty which at first can seem like a bad sign. To my surprise the food was REALLY good. From the super crispy wings, to my main dish everything was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because usually a diner will have "okay" food. This place had, as I'll say again, really good food. Service was really fast although we were the only ones there. Definitely will hit this spot again.Update: I've been here two more times since my first visit and I remain surprised at their ability to deliver on super bomb entrees! They haven't let me down yet. The garlic bread is amazing! Do try

I was drawn to nightmares cafe and bar for the 18% off and to grab a beer or two on happy hour. I get in there and it's empty with daytime television in the "bar." This place was as expensive as any respectable restaurant- except they weren't a respectable establishment! There is no happy hour and the fries I ordered were hardly cooked at all. This place is a true dive. Not the ironically cool dives you'll find downtown, but a crap hole.

Great little restaurant. Super clean. Recently remodeled. Comfortable. Friendly service. Good food. Nothing fancy, just typical American diner fare.
