Solid Mexican joint in La Canada. Private parking lot. Old school, family owned venue. I ordered online on their website (small convenience fee). Was relatively busy on a Saturday night but not overly so. Food order was accurate, well packaged for takeout, and fresh. Enchiladas were solid, and I loved how the burritos came covered in enchilada sauce. Chips and salsa included for no additional charge. Friendly staff who knew the locals. Overall I recommend checking this place out!

Dona Maria's in La Cañada is OK. I had the chicken enchilada suiza and hard shell taco combo. It was good, but when the chips are salsa steal the show, you know there are better options out on the streets. While the dishes are tasty, it's worth noting that the overall value might not be the most competitive in the area. There are other options that offer better value for a similar price range.

We were in the area and hungry and craving Mexican food. We found this little spot and we were a bit skeptical because when we walked in it was empty. Only a couple were eating at a table. Customer service was great. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. They took chips and salsa to the table while we looked over at the menu. The place itself feels small. In moments I felt a little claustrophobic. My wife and I both ordered the carnitas plate which came with rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole the food was great except the rice. The rice felt old or as if they cooked it twice. A little hard I would say. We also ordered a Jamaica drink which was good and refreshing. It didn't feel like it was made fresh from the hibiscus. But it was still good tasting. There inside walls felt a bit outdated. There was a TV for entertainment but it only had a Roku logo on it. Mexican music was playing in the background which was a nice touch. There was enough parking and had a view from our table to keep an eye on our car.

Delicious family-style Mexican. Great service. A northeast LA must. Highly recommend the Baja Burrito!

Met with friends from La Canada who suggested Dona Maria for convenient parking. Frankly from the outside, I thought hmmm...we could have gone somewhere else. Boy, was I wrong, the old adage, "Don't judge a book by its cover" applied here. Here are some helpful tips and info:1. Parking - have their own private lot so again, a rarity these days but helps a ton for ingress and egress and when pressed for time. Who has time to look for parking during lunch time or anytime? Guess you can tell that is my number one pet peeve. 2. Food - lenten season so no meat Fridays; thus, all three ended up ordering chile relleno with a side of rice and beans. One of the best chile relleno I have had and the portion was perfect! MNOTE: As usual, we were served fresh tortillas and salsa. One distinct thing served was the pickled veggies - love! 3. Service - found out my friends where regulars here so the waiter knew them and suffice it to say, impeccable service.Needless to say, I heard him talking to the other customers the same way he did for us so I know whether you come as a regular or not, you will like it here. I can't wait to introduce my family to this place.

They have really improved. Dona Maria is our favorite restaurant now in La Canada. Great guac. Favorite salsa. Love the new decor too!

Cute little spot in La Canada. Food is pretty good and prices are reasonable. I ordered the beef taquitos plate which came with 4 taquitos, rice and beans. The beef taquitos were nice and crispy. Rice and beans were average. The salsas seemed fresh and they had a good flavor. Service was quick and friendly.

Delicioso us food and great service I'll come back again although I was hoping for more items on the menu
