This place is almost a literal hole in the wall in the arts district. The area is kinda hard to see from the street because the spot is connected to a lot once you get off the Main Street. The place itself is really chill. I came on a Sunday afternoon. It was only one other table there besides me. The menu is not large, but what they make they make really really well.I ordered the fish flauta and a suadero taco as well as an iced cafe de olla or wash it down. The flavors and the textures were so amazing and the presentation was beautiful. With the fish flauta, you could tell there was technique applied to get some more flavor out of the fish to come through on the finished product. This suadero taco was so flavorful, and the toppings added crunch to balance out everything. The salsas were also flavorful without being overly spicy. Just a fantastic meal all around. This place has actually been on my radar for a while because it's affiliated somehow with Damian - another restaurant I really wanna go to. How it's affiliated, I'm not exactly too sure. Because it is off the main street the lot had plenty of parking and parking wasn't a problem at all.

Stopped by ona moderately chilly day.. so food got cold really fast. Next time will come only on warmer days. Everything was good. But it's drastically overpriced. Theee tacos and a tamal. Two non alcoholic drinks were $90. Went back for a soft serve and churro.. another $35. Over $100 for cold ish tacos is abut much. Would rather pay a bit more to dine inside at Damian The churro tho... was amazing amazing Best I have ever had

This place is a casual outdoor offshoot of famed Mexican restaurant Damian, chef Enrique Olvera's Arts District place located on a dead-end street across from Bestia. Ditroit is accessed down an alley nearby. It's a fast-casual-style place where you place your order at the window and your order is brought to you. There are a smattering of outdoor tables situated in the narrow but decently landscaped space. I came here for a snack between lunch and dinner. I ordered a fish flauta and an agua fresca to go. Like Damian, the place is pricey but has high quality ingredients. The flauta was $10, but the tortilla was housemade (blue corn) and nicely crisp. I thought they had forgotten the crema, but it was underneath the cheese in the takeaway cup. There was a slaw served alongside. The agua fresca ws Palo Santo, cucumber and yuzu, refreshingly tart and sweet. This was the only place in the Arts District where I saw children. Tasty but pricey.

Honestly BEST taco I have ever eaten. Little hard to find as I didn't see a sign outside the restaurant but worth the trip!Sammy, the waitress was amazing and gave me other tips of good food while in town. 10/10

Absolutely loved the experience at Ditroit. First of all, they have parking?!? Absolutely astonishing and a fantastic way to start lunch. A friend and I went for late lunch on a Thursday at 2:30ish, and while it was not full, there was always a steady crowd while we were there. We decided we wanted to try as much as possible, so split the suadero taco, carnitas taco, fish flauta, quesadilla, and tamal del dia. Everything was fantastic, but my fave was the suadero taco and friend's fave was the tamal. We also both loved the quesadilla, which was simple perfection. The carnitas absolutely did not disappoint and the flauta was delicious with an incredible sauce. Both salsas were excellent - the green was pretty smooth and mild, and the red had a bit of a kick. All-in-all, an excellent experience and want to go back again!

A taste of Enrique Olvera that you can afford! The menu is a short list flaunting some staples, some with a twist. The Fish Flauta is full of crunchy filet topped with queso and cream. I do wish the fish had been less fishy. The Tamal del Dia is my least favorite - the poblano, tomato, and cheese is a bit wet so the masa tastes a bit watered down. The tacos are flawless, the Suadero and Carnitas both. Juicy meat, impossibly tender, a firm and chewy corn tortilla for texture, and some pretty great salsas.Even better than the tacos is the Quesadilla. We added the mushrooms, which I highly recommend, and the epazote adds the most seductive fragrance. If you're looking for LA street tacos, Ditroit is not the place. Their menu has great tacos, but the focus is on a more luxurious medley. But money does buy quality, and this place is worth every penny.

I love this place! It's a secret spot with incredible tacos. I really love the vegetarian taco and I'm not even a vegetarian but it's so good and the food comes out really fast and it's really fresh and everyone that works. There is really nice and it's just an awesome spot. Highly recommend :-)

The place has a limited menu but really good food. I ordered the vegetarian taco on the menu which was quite filling. It appeared as if veggies were stuffed in one tortilla, sealed, and put on top of two more tortillas with pico and slaw. I liked the casual vibe of the place as well which resembled closer to a cafe where you can eat and sit for a while. I'll surely recommend this to others but know they have a limited menu.

This is a great little hidden gem! The food is fantastic! I had the Suadero and Carnitas tacos and they were divine! The quesadillas with the Oaxaca cheese was also hella good! My only complaint would be save your money & skip the margaritas. Ambience is super chill & tucked away in the Arts District. Delicious Mexican Cuisine!

The meat in the tacos was super moist and perfect. They have a number of tables to sit outside once you order at the window and the service was decently prompt for how many orders they had. We will definitely be back to try additional items.
