Great food and service they catered my champagne party 15 years ago and I still eat here til this day

Last time I ate here, the food was pretty decent. But they seem to be closed now. There is a FOR SALE sign posted in the window and the doors have not been open, nor the lights on for a few weeks.

Everything was so good! The smothered chicken had the right amount of flavor, the bellpepper and onions on top added to the greatness of the chicken. The gravey on the rice was a plus because I love rice. The mac and cheese was on point. The greens were bomb, a little too spicy for me, so I switched to cabbage, which my mother loved because she ate my greens and loved it. The cabbage was bomb also.My mom got the red snapper, which she said was gonna be good by the looks of it And it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious! We ordered an 8 piece to go because that was the original plan.. We will go back

Seriously people, get your information right. I parked in the back at 3 and a worker comes out yelling CLOSED. I asked when they're open and he tells me...Saturday. How do you run a business opening and closing when you feel like it wasting your customers time? Good grief!

Not open during listed business hours. Notice on door that says "delinquent business notice" so they may be shut down.

For this place to be so delicious they are never open waste of time gas and internet it's very disappointing that they are supposed to be open from renovation on the 6 here I've wasted my time traveling all the way here

Not sure what their hours are anymore! But when they are open the food is pretty decent not exactly my go to soul food spot, but I'd go here if Darrows or Gotta Have It were closed. It's a solid third option if you're looking for Soul food in the Harbor/La area. The restaurant overall is very clean and put together pretty nice on the inside. The only negative mark I have is that they're never open and the hours on Yelp aren't the actual hours of operation.

Very good southern food including fried chicken here at Dare U To Care Grill/Golden Bird. It's a combination of a southern food restaurant and a Golden Bird fried chicken franchise, located on Western Ave and 149th in Gardena.The oxtails are my favorite. They have delicious smothered pork chops, meatloaf and turkey. Their gravy is tasty! I also had the turkey chops, which I should have ordered with that gravy. The fried chicken is very good, and you can occasionally get it on special -- I've been there twice on Sundays when they've had a 2-piece special with fries for $2.99. I've also seen a bbq special on weekends. The turkey dinner I had was also a Sunday special, it included a big wing on top of a bed of stuffing, two sides and a bit of cranberry sauce. The sides are fine, I liked the mac n cheese, string beans & potatoes, potato salad, red beans, black eyed peas, corn and collard greens.During these Covid times the small dining room is closed, everything is to go. Social distancing and masks are enforced, and there's hand sanitizer if you need it. You can wait outside for your order, it usually around 15-20 minutes, but a lot of folks call their orders in advance for pick-up. Parking is easy, non-metered street parking readily available plus there's a small parking lot behind the business.Dare U To Care Grill is owned by the same folks who operate the Dare U To Care substance abuse facilities around LA. The restaurant helps support the work of the care centers. You can eat well and support a good cause while you're at it. Ok

Good customer service. They must be under new ownership or management because the food DID NOT HIT the same at all. They're DEFINITELY under new cooks. The fried chicken was horrendous and DRY AS HELL. SHEESH!! The fried chicken used to be their staple. Zero soul in that soul food!!
