Of the many ramen places that exist in SoCal, this chain has a traditional vibe that focuses on good quality sashimi, rice bowls and minimal styles of ramen. It was a really cold and rainy day, so we thought a quick lunch in Tokyo town would help warm our souls. The ramen had a very fatty and savory broth, and the sashimi was nice to curb our sushi appetite. The rest of the sides included in our lunch combo was a bonus, and it was equally delicious. We'd come back again.

this ramen spot was THE spot people on reddit recommended for the best ramen in little tokyo. my group of 8 got seated quickly during lunch on a saturday (about 5-10 minutes) which was great, but they had to split us up inside since they can't accommodate for a huge group which was not a problem. i find the portions to be a good size and we were served our food very quickly. however what wasn't fine was 6 out of the 7 people who ordered ramen in our group got food poisoning. (the 8th person got a rice bowl and was fine). we know it's from eating here because the people we ate dinner with somewhere else did not get food poisoning so we narrowed it down to this meal. what a bummer, i thought it was tasty! but i don't think i want to go back personally.

Finally got this one Daikokuya off my bookmarks. We got the Daikou Ramen and the Tsukemen. Both were fine. I did like the thicker noodle on teh Tsukemen, but I guess people hyped this place up. What really got me was their chicken karaage. This was the best I've had. Really juicy and 2nd degree burn your mouth hot. Large pieces with the perfect breading. I was able to be seated right away, but from the Saturday lunch crowd was soon to follow.

My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday night and since we were in town and saw so many reviews on YELP, we decided to check it out! While it was quite busy, the waitlist moved surprisingly fast. In about 20 minutes, we were seated at the bar.We ordered the Daikoku Tonkotsu Ramen with kotteri flavor and a curry bowl. The food arrived promptly, which we appreciated. The ramen didn't quite blow us away. On the other hand, the curry bowl was packed with flavor. We ate quickly and were on our way since it was difficult to have a conversation because of how loud it was inside.Parking was a struggle to find a spot, so we ended up at the Japanese Village Plaza parking lot. To make the most of it, we grabbed dessert at Honeymee -their Cookies & Cream milkshake was so good and helped with parking validation.

I came here on a rainy night and there was still a mini wait list. It took less than 3 min to get seated at the "bar area" and from there we got served right away. I ordered the miso ramen while my fiancé ordered the spicy miso. Both brothes were so delicious and flavorful. I'm not that great with spicy so when I tried his I was only able to take like two scoops of the brothe before I was done. We also tried the chicken karage, it was okay. I've had better, there's was a little too soft and not so crunchy which I didn't like so much. But overall it was a great first try. I'm not sure I would come again as I don't like the seating/ ambiance arrangement.

Our party of 3 came around 11:50 am on a Saturday and we were seated within 15 mins. Food came out pretty quickly. I ordered the daikoku ramen and it was very flavorful and rich. The noodles were nice and chewy and it had a good amount of toppings. However, I took off a star since the broth was pretty salty.

Was excited to try this place after seeing all the good Yelp reviews! Our party of 3 came on a Saturday around noon and were seated inside after waiting about 15 minutes. I got their signature Daikoku ramen, which unfortunately was not my favorite; though the flavor was rich and noodles were chewy, it was very salty in my opinion

After a flight of whiskey at Wolf & Crane on 2nd Street, a bite to eat was in order before the drive home. Nick A. recommended this spot so I tagged along for the experience. Out front we were told they had a waitlist for tables, but the bar was open. Easy decision, right? The standard house Ramen bowl is a Tonkotsu style broth for $17. I liked the looks of the sushi menu, and ordered a spicy Tuna roll. The roll came out pretty fast and appeared to have been made to order. The rice was fresh and the Tuna spicy (you'd be surprised how wimpy other places are in this matter). Very good! For some reason the server brought me a side of corn, I didn't order any. Later it appeared on my bill ($1.50), but since I did add some to my Ramen I decided not to challenge it.The Ramen itself was pretty good. Not too salty, the pork was thinly sliced and a tad tough correspondingly, but overall, very good also. Service was decent aside from the corn thing, and there was little waiting for food or getting the bill paid, tableside (or counter in this case).I'd definitely come back to try other things in the future. In the past they only accepted cash but today credit cards are preferred.

We waited a little bit to get indoor seating, but I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the food came out! I ordered the fried rice, and I loved how it came with a salad and miso soup! It's also a generous portion for $14.50, and I really enjoyed the flavor. It was super yummy, and I liked all the ingredients inside.

I recently visited a ramen spot in Little Tokyo, LA, and while it came highly recommended, my first impression was less than stellar. The cleanliness of the restaurant was a major concern--it desperately needs a deep cleaning. The upkeep of the space really detracted from the overall dining experience, to the point where I almost walked out. The bathroom, in particular, was in such poor condition that I left feeling less clean than when I went in.That said, the food had its highs and lows. The gyozas were overly greasy, but the cabbage salad was surprisingly good. The beef rice bowl was flavorful, though the beef could use more texture--a bit of a crispier "fry" would have elevated the dish. The chicken teriyaki bowl was also a hit. As for the house ramen, I ordered it with pork, but it was a bit too "porky" for my taste--perhaps chicken would have been a better choice. Unfortunately, the miso soup didn't leave a lasting impression, and I'd recommend skipping it altogether. It's clear this spot has potential, and judging by the steady flow of patrons, it must have a loyal following. However, I'd urge the owners not to take that longevity or popularity for granted. A cleaner environment and attention to detail would go a long way in providing a full and enjoyable dining experience.
