My dad did the construction for this restaurant. He has pictures of the old floor with the river over clear floor building it. This was like twenty years ago. He also build that White House you see coming off the 118 west bound off Topana canyon on that one road by itself when exiting. Lol ohh the food is awesome!Homers to the chef

Food is average. Ambiance is ok but there are so many nicer places on LA. Service was ok. The food has gone downhill. The quality is just not there anymore. Over salted to compensate for flavors. Not worth the price or hype.

Gone downhill. Crustacean BH has been a staple of our family for years. My late grandmother celebrated her 80th birthday there and we love to go with friends, clients etc. We could always count on their excellent food & service. I've noticed blips and slip ups since the pandemic but nothing like the disaster of our Christmas Eve family dinner.Made a 7:45p reservation for their special holiday Christmas Eve dinner. Upon arrival, made us wait 20 minutes for our table. My MIL is 82. Not cool. What was point of the reservation? It took the server 15 minutes to take just the drinks and appetizers orders. So more waiting. We ordered:A mocktail (they were out of the lychee one I wanted. How?)Cocktails:Passionately in loveU-be mineStarters:Caviar & langostine rollsShrimp dumplings Wild mushroom wontons Tuna cigars (added later)Mains:2 orders of crab2 orders of garlic noodles1 spinachDessert:Lychee sorbetWarm beignetsService was a DISASTER.First the server did not KNOW which drinks were what. I cannot drink alcohol. I had to ask twice if he gave me the mocktail. After thinking, he finally confirmed. Then he proceeded to smoke the entire table and hand the WRONG drink to my son who informed the server, nice smoke, but I ordered the U-be Mine. Again server looked confused. Said ok you can keep this drink. No one wanted it because no one ordered it. SMH.Then he gave the last cocktail (again called it by the wrong name) to my other son. Two of the starters arrived but not the langostine rolls. We ordered/added tuna cigars as we were still hungry. That arrived within 5 minutes, still no langostine.A busser comes and starts clearing and changing plates. I tell him, WHERE is our caviar & langostine appetizer? He says let me check. The main dishes arrive, we're happy as we were hungry and service was so poor at this point. Busser clears table again, drops silver on my arm with food. No biggie, it was an accident. Thank you for my dry cleaning expense on my new jacket. Finally the langostine appetizer arrives. We were told our original order went to another table. Great. Honest mistake but why did it take until AFTER the dinner to arrive. It's a starter for a reason. We order dessert. As we're waiting they are clearing the table NEXT TO US and they drop silverware which clangs to the floor and noodles fly up into my hair. My husband and I laugh at this point. We're like wow the bussers are really dropping everything tonight. Again, we say nothing. We are having our family holiday dinner and didn't want to make the evening about these crazy mishaps but really Crustacean? We have dessert, it's delicious. Then the bill arrives. It has the wrong drink in there. Why? My husband and I are trying not to get upset. It's Christmas. We tell the waiter. He profusely apologizes and tells us he's removing the langostine appetizer. Ok fine.Is this acceptable? The bill with tip was over $750. Cost was not an issue, we like this restaurant, but do you think Crustacean should have made this right? Many high end places would have said, we comp'd your drinks or dessert for all the mishaps. We did not make a big deal in the moment. I have serious reservations about returning when the vibe now feels like "Vegas marketing" and not a high level, quality dining experience. Overall the food was still delicious, hence the 2 stars & we tried hard not to dwell on the many little mistakes. But unfortunately many little mistakes ruin an evening to be honest. Once, twice you can let go but 3,4,5 mistakes is downright sloppy & unacceptable. This is a service issue.I hate to say this but I think I would be reluctant return or recommend this place anymore. There are so many amazing restaurants that can rival the mediocre experience we received. And for the holidays too. Very sad at the decline. Think twice before booking here or know what to expect before you go.

A delicious experience at Crustacean, a beautifully decorated restaurant. My husband and I shared the following dishes and each one was lovely. The delicate Artichoke "Banh Cuon" Ravioli is stuffed with wild mushroom, fennel, sesame beurre blanc, garlic lime foam. The Ramen Cacio e Pepe was full of flavor and quite a substantial dish. And the Vietnamese Crackling Mushroom Rice was my favorite. Delicious and fun! Our server was helpful with our meal.

Went for Valentine's day weekend. Food was great- the garlic noodles are a must try! Absolutely delicious. Our server, Diana, was fantastic and made some great suggestions food and cocktail wise. If you like a bit of heat I suggest trying the "Daughter of the Dragon" cocktail. The calamari and tuna cigar rolls are also must try's!

Service was outstanding since we got out of the door. From the valet to the bartender. Drinks were super good, ambiance and decoration very classy and sober. Food, amazing! Super tasty. Expensive, yes. But I'll say is worth it!

My wife and I had a dinner here. I had lived in Vietnam so I was keen to see what their food is like. It is a very broad interpretation of Vietnamese food. We ordered three dishes: artichoke banh cuon ravioli; ramen cacio e pepe; and Vietnamese crackling mushroom rice. All three dishes were excellent. The artichoke banh cuon ravioli had wild mushroom, fennel, sesame beurre blanc and garlic lime foam. It was definitely a fine dining dish but not at all like Vietnamese banh cuon, which is a rice roll dish. The ramen cacio e pepe had indulgent noodles with aged parmesan and black pepper. Ramen was in the name but it tasted and had the texture of a very good Italian pasta dish. The Vietnamese cracking mushroom rice was the closest to a Vietnamese dish with generous amounts of enoki, hon-shimeji, and shiitake mushrooms with crispy garlic rice and poached egg. The spicy sauce that accompanied the dish gave it an extra kick. The ambiance of the restaurant is really deluxe and stylish: an 80-foot aquarium walkway winds through the floor of the restaurant and Vietnamese conical hats float from the ceiling of the bar. Our waiter was very good: professional, helpful and friendly.

Free parking across the street or valet after 5pm Beautiful Ambience and you can't miss this spot since it's at the corner of Bedford and S. Santa Monica Blvd DRINKSThe lychee cloud and yin yang drinks were amazing! FOODGarlic noodles were good! Turmeric white fish was soft and moist not bad at all. Pineapple yellowtail not bad definitely gives off a fresh vibe Dumplings were okay, but if I came back it would be a combo with the garlic noodles. SERVICEEntire staff was friendly and attentive no issues at all

I had a terrible experience & would give them 0 stars if I could. I received several emails from Crustacean about a special holiday fixed menu so I made a reservation to take my family. When we got there we were given an entirely different menu. When we asked our waitress (a Russian woman), she said she didn't know what we were talking about. When we told her it was advertised on their website her response was "Well I don't look at the website." SMHThe interaction only went from bad to worse, she proceeded to tell us that it was most likely M-F. Once again, we told her both the email that we received & their website said it was until Sunday, Dec. 22.We ended up ordering from the brunch menu (which had completely different items), but to be honest the meal was ruined because it became very awkward & uncomfortable to have her as our waitress due to her condescending attitude. When we were done & she brought us the bill she tells us to "double-check it." I'm sorry, what?! That was a very odd comment for her to make. She then went on to once again bring up how she was sorry they didn't have the menu we were expecting & that the website sometimes takes 5 days to be updated & that she still was unaware of what menu we were referring to, but that it "wasn't a big deal." That's when I reached my breaking point with her. It's obviously not her fault if the restaurant advertised one thing & then offered another, but it was her approach to me & my family, as well as her condescending & dismissive attitude that made me have to check her. Had she came with a different approach & tried to rectify the situation we would've had a very different experience. Needless to say, we will NEVER be back & will make sure to tell others about how we were treated.
