If you are reading this, I am sure you are already aware of how legendary these breakfast burritos are. The breakfast burritos are always on point and you can catch a coffee for almost nothing while you wait for your order. There is usually a line and a wait for your order but they keep pumping the out and they are definitely worth the wait. The building was built 100+ years ago and CC has been there for almost 25 years. It's a hole in the wall restaurant thats serving a delicious breakfast burrito.I will be returning!!!Enjoy!!!!!@jshoeats #jsho

I'll be super short. This place never disappoints. The breakfast burrito is always delicious. I went with the sausage burrito which was tasty. I could eat two if I could. It's that good.

This is the time when I wish I could give ZERO STAR. This place used to be one of the best, if NOT the best burrito joint. As usual, nothing good lasts forever. Place is sold, under new management that doesn't know their (_!_) from a hole on a ground. I called in my order at 10:40am today, Saturday. I was told it would take 40 minutes, which I agreed and prepared to wait and ended up canceling. I waited till 11:30am for two burritos. This is unprofessional, to say the least. Under old management, the guy was on top of his game. I wasted almost an hour to cancel my order. We have been coming here for over 2 decades. Needless to say, we will never order here again. New ownership has no clue how to run a business. As I was waiting, I made some disturbing observations:1. Nearly all the cooks and workers had beards and big bush of hair and wore no hairnets in a very tight cooking space filled with sweat and hair (as opposed to the old cooking crew who wore hairnets). What are the chances hair is not going to end up in the food. No chance. Working in a food joint with no hairnet is totally unacceptable. 2. They implemented a new order system by QR code in addition to phone orders and walk-ins. If you are not able to handle such volume of orders, then don't pick up the phone, like the old management did: they did not pick up the phone when orders got out of hand. As frustrating as it was for customers, it worked and the business ran smoothly. In short, DON'T ORDER HERE. The food doesn't taste the same either (my husband order a while back). There are other places to go to. Not everyone is cut out to run a food business, regardless of what people think of themselves. Having money to invest in a food joint is not enough.New management has no experience in a food business and they should have never obtained this business that was exceptional.

On a rainy LA day with snarled traffic, I took the waze way and saw the breakfast burrito sign. I'm glad I did. The breakfast burritos are solid! Perfect combination of ingredients. Priced about right. Clean little place and friendly service. Bring cash!

I'm not from the area but was craving a breakfast burrito before my flight. This place hit the spot. The bacon burrito was delicious!! I loved their crunchy thin bacon. I didn't add salsa to my burrito, but I wish I did1-I guess it's really good. They only take cash, but you are able to scan a QR code and order/pay online if you walk and do not have cash on you. The service was super friendly and fast. I wish we had something like this in the bay area where I live. I also overheard one of the workers is telling a customer that they are thinking about opening on Sundays now. So if you are from here, you might be lucky and be able to get a bomb breakfast burrito seven days a week.

New management is really bringing the business into the future! Now they're taking online orders (in person it's cash only still) and they added gift cards to the mix.

And so begins the downfall of a Burbank institution for decades. It saddens me to write this, though the new ownership has slowly destroyed what they probably paid good money for.... Reputation. The old regime knew to slowly raise prices as while it hurt, you could understand their struggle to make a profit as costs rose. Raising prices by almost $1 on most burritos, is in my opinion, pure greed in trying to recapture the $$ they spent. The burritos are smaller and the flavor has changed recently. It's definitely not the same as when they first took over and left things alone. Will be interesting to see who keeps coming back, though many friends I've talked to that grew up eating here, all agree that they will frequently hear less often if at all. And it truly pains me to say that as there were not many mom/pop establishments left that had the type of following that Corner Cottage did.For those that will still come here, at least your service should be quicker as the lines even in the morning, are not what they used to be. And will probably continue to get smaller as more and more competition pops up in the breakfast space. The simple rule is, you don't mess with what works.

Really more of a 3.8 stars situation here.I was never able to make it out before the new ownership took over and I will always have a soft spot for these run down joints sprinkled all over LA, but my breakfast burrito seemed pretty basic. It was kind of bland and texturally all the same and mushy. I think this is a situation where nostalgia was greater than the quality.

What do you call a hidden gem that everyone knows? Corner Cottage. In another timeline, it'd be easy to pass by this small, beige building on South Victory Boulevard...but in this timeline, it's 9am on a Saturday and there's a crowd of people outside looking like they're waiting for a Black Friday sale to start. Why are all these people in line? They're waiting for the best breakfast burrito in town.Corner Cottage has many things on the menu from breakfast burritos, burgers, and teriyaki bowls...but everyone comes here for two things: relatively cheap eats and the breakfast burritos. There's nothing extravagant about the burrito...it's not the size of a house or filled with some sacred, organic meat or artisan potatoes. It's just a breakfast burrito...potatoes, eggs, cheese, and a meat of your choice wrapped in a tortilla. The best restaurants are the ones that do simple things the right way. Some might say there's too many potatoes, not enough eggs, needs more cheese, etc, but to me the ratios are perfect. Yes, the burrito is pretty heavy on the potatoes, but the way they're cooked (everything is done on a giant, well-seasoned flat-top grill) makes it great. They're not fried and crispy, they're soft and pillowy. When wrapped together with the other stuff, it's almost like a mashed potato quality and texture. Could it use more egg, maybe, but you get just enough scrambled eggs and cheese nestled between the layers of potato. The meat options vary from ham, bacon, sausage, and/or steak. Ham is OK, smoky and thin sliced ham you'd expect in an omelette or a sandwich. The bacon is crumbled to bits so you get it pretty dispersed throughout the burrito, but you never get that crunch or chew from a bigger piece. I've never had the steak, since I always get the sausage burrito. It's the best one since it's chopped up sausage links chunked throughout the burrito. It tastes very similar to the Farmer John's breakfast sausages you'd grow up with living in Los Angeles. The best feature of the burrito is what separates theirs from the rest and it's the salsa. At first you scoff at the idea that a tiny cup is all you get...but then you realize that a little bit goes a long way. You can get the salsa in the burrito or on the side. If you don't like spice, omit it or get it on the side. I always get it on the side (and maybe ask for extra) so I can spoon it on when I want. Again, the salsa isn't anything crazy...it's just a pico de gallo with either jalapenos or serranos, chopped into an oblivion. The flavors are nothing simple though...it's spicy, sour, salty, tangy, zesty...it makes the burrito, it makes you want to take another bite.Everything is cooked to order which is the biggest and only downside of this place...you might have to wait a while. On a Saturday morning I've waited around an hour for one breakfast burrito due to the line down the block and the waiting time, but it's absolutely worth it. On a weekday morning, the wait can be a bit more manageable if you show up early. The burrito will set you back 8 or 9 bucks give or take. The prices have gone up over the past couple of years, but to get a burrito this good for under 10 bucks is kinda crazy. It's 11 with a small coffee. There are other places that serve crappy breakfast burritos for way more. A double cheeseburger combo with fries and a drink is also 11 bucks. The burgers are around 5 bucks...I wanna say a teriyaki bowl is 5 or 6? If you're looking for cheap, good eats, this is the place to go.Over the years the other things that make this place special are the people behind the counter. The family that used to run it was so nice and clearly cared about the community they were serving. This year, they sold the business to a new family and they're carrying on those traditions. The quality of their product is the same, which makes sense since I recognize all the cooks to be same from all these years. I did notice little flourishes of modernization the last time I came in. They finally got some new fridges and a coffee maker. They have a computer ticket system versus hand written orders. The only thing that hasn't changed, this place is still cash only, but it's literally only a small price to pay to get a classic meal.

After driving by recently and seeing a Costco sized line, I had to go in. I tried it before and thought I reviewed it but I don't see it. My past experience was great. Great burrito, great salsa and a great price. Check of Yelp showed some recent disappointment however. Change in price and ownership and size had some complaining that its reign at or near the top of the breakfast burrito hierarchy was over, so I just had to come in. First time inside, just a basic fast food joint with no bells and whistles, no digital boards or TVs. Couple places to sit but this ideally is a ToGo spot. Guys working were quick and super friendly. Equally important, they were open just before their advertised time of 6am. Ordered a bacon and sausage breakfast burrito. They give the option of salsa on the side or inside. Now the burrito may be a little smaller, maybe, but it was nonetheless more than filling. The salsa is and was better than any I have had anywhere. Even every Mexican joint. Amazing fresh taste, jalapeños and cilantro. Amazing. Anyway the price had increased, but not so much that it mattered. I used to think it was exceptionally inexpensive. Confusingly inexpensive. Now, even with an additional meat charge it was still only $12 and some change. A very good price still and still much cheaper than many others that are as high ranked as here. Burrito was hot and fresh, obviously, great bacon and sausage flavor, great egg, potatoes and meat ratio. I've got zero complaints. Definitely good enough to be considered one of the best in this area. Not the best, but their salsa puts it near the top. Couldnt help but notice the very reasonable lunch specials they offer as well, after 11am. Pastrami burger, fries and a drink for under $10! Unheard of! *********************************CASH ONLY CASH ONLY CASH ONLY***********************************Any criticism because of an increase in price is really unwarranted. It's still cheaper than everywhere else. Get there early as it does get real busy by 8am. Definitely better during the week. If it's 8am on a weekend, forget bout it.
