Just like that & I was back for holiday order. I was so happy to hear they were open. This time I came back for the walnut shrimp! So good. I couldn't help but order a couple entrees & it did not disappoint. The staff was super friendly & happy to take my order. Very cool spot for some last minute Chinese food cravings or holiday pot lucks.

Coral Reef Chinese Restaurant is a hidden gem in Glendale, California. This unpretentious eatery features a sizable seating area and a menu of everyday Chinese dishes. I've been going to Coral Reef for years and I've always had a great experience. The food at Coral Reef is always fresh and flavorful. I especially love the pork chops with spicy salt, the honey walnut shrimp, and the spicy eggplant. The portions are also very generous, so you're sure to get your money's worth. The service at Coral Reef is always friendly and attentive. The staff is always happy to answer any questions you have about the menu. However, the restaurant's atmosphere feels a bit dated, with worn booths and basic décor. It's not unpleasant, but could benefit from a refresh to match the quality of the food.

The outmost best! I been coming here sereveral times a year for several years and the food is the best, the servings and very generous and the prices are fair. The service is always great. They are very kind and respectful. The ambiance is nice and calm. The place is always clean, the building is vintage but very well-kept. I LOVE IT AND I RECOMMEND IT 100%

This will be a nostalgic review in that a lot of Chinese-American food (that still exists on the East Coast, but of down to 4 out 5 places left in Southern California) that was the style influenced by the former Guangzhou province of Canton, but tempered for American tastes and substituting readily available American produce like celery and broccoli, and lots of the exotic ingredients (bamboo shoots, water chestnuts) were only canned imports.Coral Reef still manages to serve humongous portions for what had only recently raised prices due to inflation (the present couple took over the property about 12 years ago.) This style is not Panda Express or fusion, or comparable to any place in the SGV besides the other 2 C-A places like Paul's Kitchen or Chinese Garden. Inside track item for people having parties - CR makes outstanding fried chicken wings with fresh jalapeño and garlic that are great with some buffalo hot sauce or BBQ, etc. and they come by the dozen and are always big and juicy and better priced than anyone else. You can always add the ubiquitous egg rolls or dumplings, but the wings are They do still have live fish tanks for both fish and lobster. They have awesome walnut shrimp (or walnut fish, if you haven't tried that version.) Check the whiteboard for the specials, which are also amazing. Also the fried pork chops with spicy salt are another great party option.Service is always friendly and cordial (except for those who are done and dashers, of course) They do have boba drinks and milk teas, but no alcohol (Bill's Liquor is on the next block, byob)It's family-run, there are many big families that still regularly occupy 2 or 3 10-seat tables on the weekends since the portions are great for that. They still do a brisk takeout business, and is Doordash'able. And if you're really looking to check out a very old traditional C-A standard, that's the Steamed Ground Pork with Dried Fish only shown on their printed menu and takes a 45 minute pre-order to make it. It's normally known as Hom Yue and is for people who crave anchovy like umami, best eaten hot over rice (it's salty) with spoonfuls of the delicious broth.

Been coming here about every month/other month since i was a kid (so 30ish years) & the food has been consistent & delicious. They always get our takeout orders right, no matter how many dishes i order. Eating inside is sucha vibe b/c it reminds me of the 80s.

Family owned restaurant with great authentic family style Cantonese dishes! We over ordered but it was okay because we ate 70% of it all. Loved the family vibes, staff were super kind and welcoming. We got 6 entrees and shared it family style between 4 people and we had leftovers. Everything came out to about $88! Great service and the food came out so fast that we were in awe lolThank god everything at the galleria and Americana were packed. Because this was way better and hit the spot Fried squid 10/10Hot sour soup 10/10 Seafood chow fun 9/10 (more rice noodle less green onions) Seafood fried rice 6/10 (kinda bland) Mongolian beef 10/10 Kung pow chicken(I'm not a fan of this dish in general but friends say 10/10
