Visited this 1970s style diner with a large spacious patio seating about 3 PM on Friday. Pretty busy inside for a mid afternoon, and the crowd only got larger as it got closer to dinner time. Service was slow, but not horrible, as the young man appeared to be an inexperienced and forgot people's drink orders, with some people had drinks and others did not and had to be asked again. But he was pleasant and enthusiastic. The menu was absolutely huge, consisting of five or more double sided pages and a separate menu of specials. Visually Observing the food on other tables, the portions were large and attractive looking. We were a party of five and there to have a small meeting and eat something. My daughter ordered the mozzarella sticks and some french fries along with a vanilla cappuccino. These were all executed fine and what you would expect. Her mother ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. The thing was huge topped with a very large breast of grilled chicken and half of an avocado and tomato. Avocado and tomato is a little unusual on a Caesar. My associate ordered a slice of banana cream pie and said it was good. However, I ordered the country pork chop special, which was serve served with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and white gravy at the recommendation of the server.I should've taken a picture because the pork chop as it looked like it was thrown into a a deep fryer and cooked like Carnitas with a very hard outer crust. It wasn't just well done, It was super well done, and bone dry covered in a thin, white flavorless gravy that did nothing to add to the dish. Normally, on a pork chop, you would get some type of brown form of country gravy, utilizing the meat juice from the cooking of the pork chop to add flavor. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasted as if they instant box potatoes, with mixed water. It tasted as if it had no butter, cream or seasoning. The steamed vegetables seem to be cooked correctly, but again no salt, seasonings or butter. After one bite, I basically determined it was not edible and asked them to replace it with the chicken fried steak, which seemed to get a number of positive reviews. Generally, when you claim something is called country gravy, it's either prepared with bacon grease or sausage grease with chunks of either or both in the gravy. Unfortunately, it had neither. The chicken fried steak was a lower quality version of what's normally sold by Cisco foods at many restaurants in the area. While that product is not the best, it's usually not bad. but unfortunately, this version wasn't even that good.I'm sure this place is fine to eat very basic food, like eggs and pancakes, a club sandwich or hamburgers and french fries. Things that only require basic culinary skills were the dishwasher was promoted to the line cook. Unfortunately, this would eliminate about 80% of the menu. With some better cooks, this could be a really nice place to enjoy the food with about half of the menu size and an emphasis on quality over quantity. Best of luck I'll watch the reviews and see.

We missed dinner tonight, but we were still hungry...Luckily Coral was open! Forgot about this spot. It's still got the same ole charm, nothings changed. Service was fast and great. We got our food quick too.I was in a grilled cheese and soup mood. It did not disappoint. Chris went with a soup and salad. He said "I was not expecting this much food."It hit the spot!Blanca was very sweet and took good care of us!

Coral Cafe is a Burbank icon! They have been around for a long time and walking in is literally taking a step into some Burbank history. You get some of the old time diner vibes but still get a quality dining experience. They have a very extensive menu, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options offered all day long. Serving sizes are generous and can also easily be shared. You can't go wrong with their pancakes or biscuits and gravy for breakfast and they have a great Montecristo sandwich. They also have quite a few vegetarian options that can easily be made vegan without cheese, which is nice since not all diners have too many option. There is even a section within the menu that has a lot of the items that are standard vegetarian. They also have incredible desserts! When you walk in you see beautiful cakes and pies on display that change up every day. alongside their milkshakes and ice cream sundaes on the menu, you can easily have a fun time celebrating at Coral Cafe. The service is pretty quick and the food is fresh. There are a lot of tables and booth inside the restaurant and a bar you can sit at to really get a classic diner feel. The servers are always kind and attentive, and treat you like family. They bring around water, refills and coffee all the time and make sure that your experience is a good one.I have been to Coral Cafe so many times over the years. They used to be open 24/7 which was so fun cause you could go and get a piece of pie or a milkshake in the middle of the night. So many great memories! While they are no longer 24/7, they are still such a staple to check out when in Burbank.

First off I was completely baffled after my experience. The place is packed. Don't give me wrong for the life of me. I don't know why the food is OK as far as the breakfast goes. They're very fortunate to have the business they have with the food and especially the customer service they provide the customer service is horrible. 100% my wife's Food had to go back two times. I will send you a picture of her country potatoes I finally gave up I will never ever be back. I asked the server on somebody else a question about the menu. They did not know the answer you would've thought it was the first day. Yikes this is my experience.

A good friend and I met for lunch at Coral Cafe yesterday. We were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. This place isn't fancy; the furniture is a bit old and dated, but that's kind of what you expect when you come to a diner like Coral Cafe. The menu is so big here that we weren't ready to order when the waiter initially came by so he gave us some time to peruse menu. When he he came back, we ordered a tuna melt and the open face pot roast sandwich. We were both shocked and how fast were orders were ready. The pot roast was a little tougher than I would like, but the delicious gravy more than made up for it. The mashed potatoes and veggies were also yummy. My friend said the tuna melt was a little greasy for her taste, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. The price is here are just right. We will definitely be back.

I love diners/cafes. Super casual and no pretense which makes me nostalgic, which this place certainly does. There were lots of choices on the menu and the food was really good. My only complaint was that it seemed a bit pricey for the type of restaurant it was, but that's just me. Service was very friendly and quick. I will definitely go back when in the area.

How wonderful that there are still restaurants like Coral Cafe in the world. The food is exactly as you'd hope it would be: well-prepared, simple, and delicious. I recently had breakfast, and then a lunch, there. My meals were tasty, and I enjoyed the staff interactions. I felt welcome and valued. Thank you!! .

This used to be my absolute FAVORITE for DELIVERY$$ they must have gone thru a revamp and major portion down sizing as well as a vendor change. The burgers are smaller and absolutely tasteless! The fries have changed and are nasty! The ribs used to be a fall off the bone bargain and now old dried out and disgusting. The turkey dinner which was always my go too was all stuffing and a sliver of turkey! My sides were three thin slices of tomatoes and three florets of broccoli! WTF ? the soups which were always awesome are now thinned out and not the same quality. After all these years It irks me to leave this review but it is what it is.......
