The food as other reviewers have stated is excellent! Colonne di Pompeii / Vesuvio with the added must have Burrata was outstanding. This large ball of burrata when mixed turns the sauce into a delicious creamy one and it's not too spicy. The Gramigna Bolognese / Emilia is also excellent with a thick spaghetti noodle. But the real standout was the last item on the menu. Casunziei / Dolomiti a half moon shaped beet ravioli with brown butter served table side. It was incredible. Also I will say though there was a small service miscommunication I would advise ordering the focaccia bread with rosemary. It's a thick cake like bread that just soaks up the sauce perfectly. The ambience is great. We sat outside with the heater and it was a lovely experience. Getting there early as a must and within 10 minutes of opening, there was already a line down the sidewalk of hungry people, staring at us as we ate it did take quite a long time on the night we dined our food to come - I attributed this to my late ordering as well as the restaurant being slammed. It's a tiny place to be enjoyed. I can't wait to try the other dishes. The pesto looks incredible.

How have I missed this incredible restaurant for 5 years??? I finally went and it was fantastic! We ordered: Farmers SaladFocacciaRed Beet Ravioli with Browned Butter Calamarata Pasta with Traditional Tomato Sauce, Stracciatella Cheese and OreganoBlack Licorice Budino with Sea Salt Everything was insanely delicious. And I didn't feel weighed down after the meal. The ingredients Chef Stefano uses are top notch and imported. He takes pride in his craft and it clearly shows. He has created such a welcoming and lovely atmosphere. The staff were all so friendly and wonderful. I can't wait to return!

In A Nutshell:-Colapasta is real Italian gem in Santa Monica.-I think the prices are adequate when compared to the high-quality food they serve.-The focaccia bread is some of the best I've had, I really enjoyed the crispness of it & the taste is very good.-Their Black Ink pasta & Spicy Curled pasta dishes are really, really good.-The noodles are perfectly al dente & the accompanying sauces really stand out.-The balled up burrata cheese are huge & pair extremely well w/ the salad & the pasta.Overall, this place was recognized by Michelin in 2021 for good reason!

Came early around 5pm on a weekend and was able to score a table without reservations. Quickly after we were seated, the restaurant formed a wait already! We sat outside since they're dog friendly. Their patio seating is very cozy at night because it's filled with plants and lights. The heaters are also perfect for a chilly night. The pasta itself was delicious. Shared two pastas between two people. Portions are the right size, not too big. For two people an appetizer with two pastas would be perfect. We got the bolognese and the squid ink bavette. Both were really good. We really enjoyed the texture of the pasta from the squid ink bavette.

I went here for lunch with a few fiends on a Saturday afternoon. They do not take reservations so we showed up a few minutes after they opened and it was honestly not busy for our entire meal. Our waitress was attentive and checked in often. We ordered the bresaola arugula e burrata to share, with the meat on the side as one person was vegetarian. We each ordered a pasta and I got the Moringa Agnolotti while my partner got the colonne de Pompeii. They were both very tasty but I loved the cheese and truffle flavor of my dish. The only downside was that the dish was a bit on the small size for hearty eaters. But flavors were all excellent.Street parking only. They have both indoor and outdoor seating although quite small inside.

Delicious! We came here for a work dinner and it did not disappoint! It was July when we visited, so we sat outside which was very nice. It was midweek around 5pm so it wasn't busy at all. Service was also on point from the moment we arrived. Once we got our food, the table went silent from everyone enjoying their meal. My coworker got the calamarata al pomodoro, so good! I tried a few bites and loved it, very similar to mine which was colonne di pompeii. Both were cheesy, saucy, and so tasty! The portions are very decent and I took some to go. We also got the focaccia bread. It was thick and had a light amount of salt which was absolutely perfect. I definitely recommend this restaurant. It's small and cute with very tasty food! Our service was quick and friendly. I will try to make my way back any time that I'm in town. Give it a try!

Great place for pasta lovers! Came here on a weekend for dinner. Would recommend getting in early as they don't take reservations and there's always a line (we had to wait ~1 hour)... but definitely worth it! The restaurant features a limited but well-curated menu of various pastas. We tried a variety, all of which were delicious - the pasta was a perfect al-dente, and the dishes were well-balanced and not overly heavy. Of everything we tried, my favorite was the casunziei, a beet ravioli with brown butter sauce - a more unique flavor profile with just a hint of sweetness. The chef also came out and poured the brown butter sauce on top of the pasta in front of us. We later learned from our hostess that he makes all pastas from scratch himself from fresh, local ingredients that he shops for daily. Will definitely be back, excited to try the rest of the menu!

Friendly service and delicious pasta. We showed up on a Friday night and had to wait about 30 mins to be seated. There are no reservations unfortunately, so waiting is a little inevitable unless you go during a less busy time. The bread costed extra and the wine options were limited. I tried the lasagna and enjoyed it. I thought everything was good but nothing crazy to remember.

Colapasta is truly a haven for pasta lovers, and I consider myself a seasoned connoisseur (perhaps to a borderline concerning degree), so I can confidently say they've perfected the art. Each shape of pasta is cooked impeccably al dente, consistent across every dish, which is no small feat. We indulged in several offerings because, frankly, narrowing it down was impossible. The standout for us was the Colonne Di Pompeii, an elongated fusilli that twirls in a luxurious, velvety tomato sauce. The sauce is rich yet surprisingly light on the palate, striking the ideal balance. Do yourself a favor and add the burrata, it complements the acidity of the tomato with its silky, creamy richness. The menu features a thoughtfully curated selection of pasta dishes, and I'm already plotting my return to sample more. The only downside? Colapasta doesn't take reservations, so plan for a wait if you're dining during peak hours. We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday and waited about an hour and a half. Though it sounds daunting, trust me it's worth every minute. I only wish we lived closer to Santa Monica, as I'd be here far more often. The service was equally impressive. Prompt, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering. They were adept at recommending dishes tailored to our preferences, and we felt genuinely welcomed from start to finish. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but there's a charming outdoor seating area that would be lovely on a mild evening. Speaking of which, I think it's time to call my boyfriend and plan our next visit. This place is calling my nameeee.

I was so excited to eat at Colapasta for date night, however, the service was pretty slow which seems to be due to understaffing. The person running the waitlist is often not standing at the front, which will require you to wait to sign up for your party or check your place in line when he shows up. While waiting, I witnessed groups of people waiting to sign up only to be turned away an hour before closing. I feel that having a waitlist posted out front is the least they could do to reduce chaos. Fortunately, the food came out pretty fast after ordering. The pasta was fresh and delicious. We ordered the Malloreddus alla Campidanese, Moringa Agnolotti, and Casarecce al Pesto. The Malloreddus alla Campidanese and Moringa Agnolotti were full of flavor and came out in hot dishes, which kept the food warm throughout our meal. The noodles were perfectly al dente! We couldn't stop eating the truffle butter sauce with the pasta from our other dishes. It was that good. Our least favorite dish was the pesto pasta because the plate came out cold, the noodles were tough to chew, and there wasn't much pesto in that dish. I think this is a solid place for fresh pasta in LA, but the service and waitlist system could be improved.
