The food here was delicious, but what really WOWed me was the service by the kind ladies working here. My husband and I brought our son to try the army stew. We were directed by the waitress to sit at a table, but then she changed her mind, asking if we prefer a table away from the door. She was worried my son would be cold from people opening the door. When she passed our silverware to us, she decided the fork and spoon were too big for my son and came back with child size utensils. Since we ordered army stew, one of the ladies gave my son a small bowl of seaweed soup so he could enjoy soup without the spice. The ladies were very conscious about where to put the boiling soup, making sure it was far from my son. The broccoli banchan had a spicy sauce on it and one of the ladies brought him one with no sauce without us asking. I have never been to a restaurant where the staff cared so much about the safety and comfort of my child. The food here is delicious. I have been craving army soup because it's been cold. I love that it's served on a stove so it's hot for the entire meal. The portion is huge and I'm excited for the leftovers. The bbq chicken was perfectly seasoned and my son's favorite. We also got the seafood pancake and we noticed the octopus was grilled first before cooking in the pancake making it extra yummy. All the banchan were tasty and there were so many of them. My family will definitely come back.

Like other reviewers, I did not have expectations when trying this place out! Actually, I meant to eat at YeoGiYo right next door, but after parking and seeing Chunju Han-il Kwan's doors open (weekend lunch), I decided to check out their menu. I originally was craving Naengmyeon (cold noodles in chilled broth), and Chunju's naengmyeon and menu was cheaper, so we decided to check it out. Btw, big yes to the wooden furniture!!!! So old school and I loved it.Again, agreeing with many other reviewers - food is great. Banchan and all the other dishes we ordered came out fresh and delicious. Overall, though, many dishes were a bit on the sweet side, but there are some that enjoy that taste.Naengmyeon - this is what I came for and it was pretty good! The broth was a bit sweet, but noodles were SUPER chewy and the bowl came with half a boiled egg. Easily split between 2 people.Oyster pancake - I LOVED THIS. I love oysters and this eggy pancake was sublime; oysters were juicy. It's a big portion, too.Beef bulgogi - this came in a combo with the naengmyeon for $20-something (I think our total bill was around $50 including tax?). Again on the sweet side, but quite juicy.I definitely will come back and try the stews and get more oyster pancake.

My wife and I stopped by Harucake next door and got hungry while waiting in line. We saw this place nearby and decided to give it a try.Hands down, some of the best classic Korean food can be found here. Maybe it's because I didn't have any expectations, and I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but I was assuming it would be like your average food court quality. However, it was the complete opposite.I can't believe it, but when I crave Korean food, I think I'll be coming here from now on.

We came in around 1pm, ordered 5 dishes, and all of our food came out pretty quickly. Our favorites were the seafood pajeon and galbi tang!

It really pains me to write this. BUT the food quality and taste has taken a nose dive to the lowest point. The seafood pancake was not cooked throughout and it was just soggy and horrible. The meats was chewy and leathery taste. Save your money and go somewhere else

It's been cold in LA so we were craving Korean hot pot and we were so happy to have checked this place out! We got the bulgogi hot pot and I appreciated how well seasoned the beef and the broth were. It was not too salty and not sweet! The banchans were good too- a great variety! It's hard to find restaurants that give you a variety of dishes nowadays. The workers were also nice and accommodating. We will be back for more!

They have a lot, but you have to pay for parking. Maybe you can find street parking. Lots of side options which is a huge plus. Kimchi is on the citrusy side if you like yours like that. Potato pancake is really good. It comes on a skillet and it was crispy. Probably one of the best pancakes I've had. We finished it completely, so that says a lot. The spicy beef soup wasn't the best tasting. It was okay. But the ratio of beef, noodle, egg, vegetables inside was very good. They serve barley tea as well for water which is always a plus in my book.Service here is the best. They're so sweet and helpful. You know when they're so kind, you just want to hug them? Lol yeah. The place is clean and I didn't feel cramped inside. I would come back again.

Army stew 4/5 - this was my first time having army stew so I can't compare but I thought it was just okay. The soup kinda tasted like sausage because there's sausage in the stew so it was slightly off putting. We also got a kimchi stew and that was very good. The kimchi was very fermented. All the sides were also really good. We came on a Thursday night and the restaurant was pretty empty. Workers are very friendly!

This place is a solid old school Korean style restaurant with very home made side dishes. When I entered the restaurant it felt like I entered someone's house. They sat me and my friends down and we were delighted at how the food came out. The side dishes were very well made with my favorites being the fish cake and the japchae.I ordered the lunch special with the bulgogi beef and that came with soup. The meat was very tender and juicy so I was satisfied with how well it came out.The price was very reasonable and the side dishes were unlimited.Overall the place is a good 9/10 with amazing service from the waiters.

"You can tell when a Korean restaurant is good if their side dishes are good" - just look at the variety of banchan they give you here. They were all so good and I felt like I was at home! The budae jjigae/army stew here is one of the best I've had and the broth has a clean taste. I love how they have purple rice. We came closer to closing and the servers were still super attentive and refilled our side dishes so many times (the fish cake especially was our favorite). Highly recommend!
