My new fave kbbq spot in ktown! A+ Service, A+ Food, and A+ Ambiance. My boyfriend and I went in for dinner and it was fairly busy but had no wait. It was quite chilly in there bc the front door stays slightly open but it was fine once we started grilling the meat.We ordered the Combo 2 where we selected 2 meats from A and 1 meat from B:- We started off with beef tongue (우설) which was SO good. It melted in our mouth and may have been our favorite in the set. They added butter while cooking the beef tongue which made it taste even better. - Next we got the pork belly (삼겹살), which was really good too but not amazing. Maybe next time we'll just ask for 2 orders of the beef tongue or order brisket. - Lastly, we ended with the marinated galbi. The marinade was really good but next time we'll probably order the Angus one bc the regular order of yangnyum galbi was a bit tough and had less marbling. - The doenjang jjigae that comes with the combo was on the milder side compared to other restaurants but still very flavorful and delicious. - The banchan was 5/5! I usually don't eat a lot of banchan when I eat out at restaurants but I ate literally everything -- even the cucumber banchan when I usually don't like cucumbers. We ordered the ttoari mool naengmyun (또아리 물냉면) separately and they told us that they hand-make the noodles. By the way for people who don't know since it doesn't say on the menu, ttoari is usually just a small portion of your choice of either mul or bibim naengmyun, which you may prefer since one regular order is quite big after such a big meal. Not my favorite but would like to give their naengmyun a try again bc everyone says that it's really good. Maybe next time I'll just try their chik naengmyun bc i like its chewy texture better (even tho they said it's store bought). I plan on getting their yuk hwe (육회) next time because I heard that it's the best in ktown. Just looked through some reviews and it looks like I need to try their sangdeungshim and kkotsal as well! Will be back because I'm laying in bed writing this review the day after and I'm craving it already LOL

Highlights: ribeyeEven though this place is a bit outside of LA's Koreatown, it's absolutely worth it for the quality of their ribeye. The ribeye is cooked perfectly, tender and juicy, just melts in your mouth and the portions are very generous--two people can easily eat and still have leftovers! I also recommend trying the beef tartare and marinated short ribs; both are so flavorful. The staff are incredibly nice, giving the place a warm, homey vibe, almost like eating a home-cooked meal at your mom's place. Highly recommended!

Chung Ki Wa is my absolute favorite Korean restaurant in Los Angeles. I've been coming here for 30-35 years. The food is high quality. The service is outstanding. The restaurant is clean. The food is super tasty. Yuk Hwe. Korean style raw beef served with a raw egg, lemon, Asian pear, cucumbers. I've tried this dish here for my first time 30 years ago and have been hooked. They have the best Yuk Hwe in Los Angeles. Grade: A+We ordered Set A from the menu. We chose marinated galbi. This was two generous pieces of high quality galbi on the bone. When cooking, it grilled perfectly and cut easily (tender). Grade. AWe also chose beef brisket and tongue. The brisket was sliced perfectly and was tasty! High quality meat. Grade. AThe tongue was super delicious! It was high quality pieces and when cooked it had a nice tender chew to it. Great flavor. Grade A+Service was absolutely outstanding. Three ladies worked hard in unison to provide great customer service. Service Grade: A+One thing that stood out to me during our meal was the the utensils were clean and new. The scissors that they provide to cut meats during your meal was sharp and cut the meat well. Other restaurants have cheap and dull cutlery. Overall impression: A+

Experienced a traditional Korean dinner.I want to acknowledge how exquisite the service is. My family and I felt so welcomed and cared for. We ordered the combo A which came with 3 meats of your choice, soybean stew and a drink. In addition, we ordered 2 of the cold noodles. The cold noodles come in large portions and is perfect for sharing! When we ordered 2, the staff was so kind to already divide the soup into 4 bowls and I still couldn't finish it lol. Very generous on the noodles. Pairs well with the mustard and vinegar they offer on the side. The combo A was very fitting and the quality of the meat did not disappoint! Though it may be pricey, it's worth every penny. I would recommend the short rib, brisket and pork belly. Overall, the dishes felt like home. Not too heavy on seasoning yet filled with flavor. I will be a returning customer!

The weather was a bit fair, but a friend and I were still craving a good naengmyeon+kalbi combo. Street parking was pretty easy even on a Saturday afternoon. Upon entering, the decor of the restaurant is fully saturated with dark wood panels and booths, which give the restaurant an old school traditional vibe. My friend and I both got our naengmyeon+kalbi combos and also added on a seafood pancake. Service was great and they would also check up on us once in a while to see if we needed anything. The naengmyeon was pretty decent and refreshing, but not the best I've had. There's another spot in ktown that has that #1 spot in my opinion. Despite that, the seafood pancake was surprisingly amazing and very thick with generous amounts of octopus and other seafood. Overall, a great spot for the classic naengmyeon+kalbi combo with a very chill atmosphere that caters to a more mature customer base.
