Was looking for somewhere to eat near the Beverley Hills area while visiting LA and came across this place. Looking at the menu and photos I knew I had to come get the Chubby Curry Wagyu Rice Bowl. That egg on top of the rice was perfection and the flavors were spot on. The Wagyu Steak bowl is mostly the same thing but without the extra wagyu beef curry. In addition to these, we also got the Curry Fries (that curry aioli so good), and mixed radish/cucumber salad. The staff was super kind and helpful with the menu items and the food came out beautifully plated. I'd 100% come back the next time I'm in LA.

So, this place was good.Had the Chicken Katsu Kare, which is what I usually get at Coco Ichibanya and Hurry Curry. The chicken was very good. Extra crunchy. And the portion was good, too.The sauce was a little sweet, though. Not in a bad way, just sweeter than when I've had Japanese curry before, both in L.A. and in Tokyo. Though not New York; it kind of reminded me of the curry at Go Go Curry in Manhattan. As for other aspects, the staff were nice and attentive, and the place itself was also nice. Kind of homey, like it had been there a while. Again, if I may brag like a jerk, it reminded me of this ramen place in Tokyo I went to.Now, parking in this neighborhood is a crap shoot. I got there a few minutes before noon, and just happened to roll up as someone was leaving. Not sure where else to park around there. All told, Chubby Curry won't become my regular Japanese curry spot, but I will be back, and soon.

My dad's favorite dish is Japanese curry, so when he was in town we had to try this place. I have been to other "Chubby" chains and they have not disappoint so far. We went on a weekday right when they open and staff promptly greeted us. We ordered the duck curry which I have no regrets. Duck was tender and flavorful! The portion may not be enough to feed two, maybe 1.5 tops. My dad liked his beef Wagyu curry, it's perfect with the soft boil egg on top. Value wise we recommend the beef Wagyu curry. There's a free parking lot across the street.

Pretty nice curry, but nothing special, it tastes a little fruity, the chicken had some hard pieces of white meat, parking is horrible around here, I had to cruise around the block three times

Great experience and service! The restaurant filled with toy figures and has a dim setting.Servers were very nice and helped redeemed our chubby club reward for the wagyu dumplings and cucumber salad.Their curry was good but nothing too spectacular. The katsu was fried well and the chicken was not dry. The sliced wagyu was tender and tastes great. The curry fries were very crispy and addicting because of the spices and goes well with the curry aioli. The star of the show was the roasted duck curry. Plated well with good presentation. The bowl feels deeper than it looks and the curry has a good duck flavor from all the duck oil.

You know how in the early 90's how a waitress would come to your table and then put down this little foldable table and everyone would get their food at the same time. This place does the exact opposite of that.I guess I am being a little harsh here, since it's more common now-a-days but it really did mess with the timing of everything. They would bring out each curry dish one at a time, and by the time our 6th person got their food, the 1st person was already done....The curry itself is mid. It's very mild and doesn't have a lot of flavor. They do have some spices you can manually add to the curry, but all in all, the curry was very one-dimensional.I tried the duck and the wagyu hambugu. The hamburger was much better. The duck was decent, but was not fall off the bone. It's actually quite hard to get some pieces off the bone with only chop sticks and a spoon. A knife would've helped us cut the meat off.I was really looking forward to trying the duck, and although I did enjoy it, didn't think it was very special. The food prices aren't that high, and are fine for the area. Some people at my table ordered beers and those were $10 for a 12oz can of beer. I give them 3.5 stars, but Yelp only' lets me do 3... P.S. (I wish Yelp would switch to a 10 star system, or allow half stars).

Wow! I came here since I happened to be in the neighborhood and I was so impressed! The curry truly lives up to the franchise's name and it was probably the best curry I've had so far!! The chicken was juicy and also very crispy and not oily/and greasy. It was perfect. The spice level also was good!!! The chirashi bowl was also incredible quality fish! It absolutely melts in your mouth with every bite.We also got the mushroom side which was also a good little treat.Similar to other chubby chains, you order via tablet and the food comes soon afterwards :) This is more of an intimate dining experience and I loved the decor and decorations around the restaurant. Can't wait to come back again and try more chubby chains!

Chubby Curry was tasty. I enjoyed my Chicken Katsu Curry, I tried a bite of the Wagyu Curry which was also pretty good. We took a Wagyu burger to go, it traveled well and it was our favorite out of the three things we tried.I'd go back again but I can't say this is my favorite curry spot in LA. I still like the concept of the authentic Japanese curry without the chili oil and more of the tsukemono that goes so well with it. If you ask for more of the red tsukemono, there is an extra charge. Service was just ok, I'm not sure if lunch time is less staffed but if I had to go back to work, it would be considered way too slow. The manager was there doing other things facing the kitchen without looking at the dining area but I feel if the server has too many tables (and it wasn't that crowded), she should step in. Overall, cute restaurant, nice location but some things need to improve.Parking was great. Free 90 min parking lot directly across the street.

A nice and casual dining room that opens to the street (but they zip close when it gets cold at night). The curry emphasizes curry flavor over heat--just the way I like. Love the balance of sweet and savory. Our group tried their roasted duck curry available only on weekends. Great presentation on a platter. It's half a duck (so tender & juicy) on top of what feels like a bucket of curry and steamed rice! Enough for four with some appetizers. Stonepot Wagyu Hamburg was a thrill as it comes screaming hot and sizzling. And it comes with a generous helping of curry sauce for you to add as you like. The Chicken Katsu Kate was also pleasant. The seaweed topped waffle fries and wagyu dumplings made nice starters. Staff are busy but friendly. Convenient parking lot across the street. Would come back on the next curry craving!
