We had an amazing Christmas dinner at Chosun Galbee in Koreatown. As a mom traveling with our 11-month-old, I really appreciated how family-friendly the restaurant was--they had a high chair ready, which made things so much easier.Despite being a busy holiday night, we were seated right away. The service was fantastic, and our waitress even helped cook the meat at the table. The short rib (Chosun Galbee) was the highlight--tender, flavorful, and absolutely worth it.The meal wasn't cheap, but the quality of the food and the overall experience made it totally worth the splurge. Highly recommend Chosun Galbee for delicious Korean BBQ.

This is a super old school high end k-bbq place. No nonsense menu with high quality, lightly seasoned meat and excellent nang-myun. We took advantage of their everyday lunch special of nang-myun + galbi, which compared to their regular, frankly ridiculous prices is relatively decent value. Service was swift and professional, if a bit impersonal. The galbi was good, but the main reason we were there was the mool-nang-myun. Really, how many restaurants in these United States do proper nang-myun broth like Chosun? It's probably less than five, if that. This is a bowl of cold noodle that would not be out of place at a respectable nang-myun place in Seoul, except in Seoul you would never get this much pressed beef in your bowl (not that I'm complaining). December is not exactly the best time for cold noodles but my wife and I still enjoyed it very much.

We were staying in an Airbnb in Santa Monica during the Christmas holidays, just an 18-minute drive from Koreatown. Since most restaurants in Santa Monica were closed on Christmas night, we decided to venture into Koreatown, where Chosun Galbee caught our eye--and thankfully, they were open.Chosun Galbee offers convenient $4 valet parking in their private lot, which was a huge relief on a busy holiday night. Despite having no reservations (they are walk-in only), we were seated immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. We were a party of five adults and one baby, and I appreciated how family-friendly the restaurant was--they even had a high chair available for us.The service was excellent overall. Our waitress cooked most of the food for us at the table, and although we had to step in occasionally to ensure the meat didn't burn, her attentiveness made the experience enjoyable. The quality of the food was outstanding, and here's a breakdown of what we ordered:[Korean BBQ]+Prime Chosun Galbee (short rib in specially formulated soy sauce) for $68.99 - This short rib was amazing. The meat is tender, and the flavor is incredible. - 5/5+Bulgogi (thin slices of tender beef marinated in specially formulated soy sauce) for $48.99 - Perfectly cooked and delicious. - 5/5+Chadol Baegi (thin slices of prime brisket without marinade) for $47.99 - This was forgettable for me. I wouldn't order it again. - 3/5[Korean Specialties]+Dolsot Bibimbap (rice topped with meat and vegetables served on a sizzling stone pot) for $26.99 - Great flavor and presentation, but I've had better. - 4/5+Kimchi Chigae (Kimchi stew with beef and tofu) for $21.99 - A comforting and flavorful stew that complemented the meal. - 4/5The subtotal for all the items we ordered came to $214.95, and with taxes and tip, the bill ended up being quite high. However, considering the quality of the food and the overall experience, it was well worth it.Chosun Galbee delivered an amazing dining experience with fantastic food and great service, even on a busy holiday night. I would absolutely recommend this place and look forward to returning whenever I'm in Los Angeles.

I was really excited to try Chosun after reading up on some of the best KBBQ spots in K-Town, but to be honest, it ended up being a bit of a letdown. The meats were good, but nothing extraordinary, and the value didn't feel worth it for just two people. We ordered the Chosun Galbee and the Eundaegu Maeuntang. It was my first time trying that soup, but it was a bit too fishy for my taste. The service was great, and the ambiance was nice, but I feel like this place is better suited for a group, so you can order and share more dishes. For just those two items, the total came out to almost $130. I'd probably skip this spot next time I visit.

This is not your average hole-in-the-wall-ajumma -ajoshi joint in K town. It's pricey but a great place to introduce a newbie to Korean cuisine. The food never disappoints and the quality is top shelf. My family has been coming here for decades and this is my hubby's go to place when he is craving Korean bbq. Definitely worth trying. Ciao mein till next bite!Ps They don't take reservations here except for large parties. Best time to go if you don't want to wait is before 6pm.

Definitely one of the best kbbq in town. This place is better than Park's. The place is very modern and clean. Servers wear traditional Korean outfits. Service is quick and attentive. They cook your meat for you. We ordered the chosun galbee in the cheaper cut, pork bulgogi and dolsot bimbimbap. All 3 were amazing but the star of show was the chosun galbee. Highly recommend getting. The banchan is high quality and very good. The rice was perfect too. Would come again to try other things.

Look, yall impressed my picky and critical Korean parents and we enjoyed every banchan and dish we ordered. We actually didn't have any korean bbq so I don't think I had the full experience of food or service in that regard but dang, we will be back. Atmosphere is nice, clean, modern and does not have an overwhelming smell of smoke/bbq. What We Ordered: -Raw marinated crab yangyum gwae jang- Ooh-guh-ji galbi tang - Mandu gook, and - Dwen-jang jjigae Staple korean soups. The broths were all good and you could tell, they really cooked down the broths for the galbi tang and mandu gook. Depth of flavor was definitely there and nicely seasoned. Lots of meat and veggies in the soups and the mandu were filled to the edges of the wrapper. The crab marinade was not too spicy and lightly sweet due to fruit in the marinade and batons of asian pear. We ate the marinade with rice when we ate all the crab. The crab was lightly frozen still but we stilled enjoyed it. And of course, no upset stomach afterwards as sometimes people experience. Our experience with service was very good too. For all that, it was just over $120 which is insane coming from the Bay Area with awful and overpriced Korean food. We will definitely be back.

Came here to try the cold noodle soup - we have mixed feelings. It took a long time for the cold noodles soups to come out, even the bbq came out first, this was odd. The bowl of rice I asked for my son never came. When the noodles did come - 2 were chewy and 2 were overcooked (mushy). Only one of them came with the Asian pear. Some of the brisket was soft and tender some were hard and dry. Doesn't seem to be any consistency - and none of the broths had any slush in it.The galbi and banchans were good, but based on this experience I'm not sure if we will return. We also never had anyone check on us so we got no refills for water.

I have a sensitive stomach when it comes to eating meat outside at restaurants, but surprisingly, this is one place that doesn't give me an upset stomach. Which MEANS this place only serves top quality. The marbling, the juiciness, and the tenderness of the meat defines top quality meat! My favorites are Chosun Galbi, Kot Sal, and Chadol Baegi. I also have to mention the banchan (side dishes) here are all so good that honestly no other place can follow. Always leave this place feeling stuffed and satisfied! :')

Great place for quality Korean Bbq without the smoke getting in your hair and clothes. They do have Valet parking or free street parking. Great for either date place or moderate sized groups I'd recommend the galbi, chap Chae and cold noodles.
