It was my Grandson's Birthday week and we took him to another place the day before which was just awful. So we all piled in the car for the long drive to Sunland, at least for us it is a drive. They say it is in Los Angeles, but not really. No matter, we knew it would take a bit and boy was it worth it.First of all, there is parking. The place is just so cute with lovely art, comfortable seating and great service. The food is amazing.We got there and were seated right away. Our drink order was taken and chips were delivered. We started with guacamole and it was great. But they don't give you much so we ordered more and more. It was just that good.We then tried their Enchiladas de Puebla, which is Chicken Tinga filled and topped with Mole Puebla served with rice and rajas Poblanas. this is not easy to find at other places. This was amazing. We also had Carne Asada Arrachera Mexicana, which is Marinated skirt steak with rajas and nopal. It was cooked perfectly. We will have that again.Their Ceviche de Camaron y Pescado, which is Fish and cooked Shrimp ceviche is so amazing.There is just not a bad dish to have there.The place is just spotless. The service is fast and so kind. Go there.

This was such a pleasant find my friend took me to! So delicious and amazing service! I will definitely come back here the food is so good!!! Plenty of free parking. Our server was so nice and I loved they had Mexican Coca Cola in a bottle!Great vibe for sure you will not be disappointed!! Homemade everything like mama is cooking it in the kitchen!!

You may be skeptical when you walk in. It cannot be that good. The ambience is not fabulous. And, you are not wrong about the food if you are ordering a classic meal. Their enchilada platters, etc are not fabulous. But if you order the Degustación de Mole (order all six if you are a group) and add a taco or two, you will have a tour of the best moles in LA. Trust me - that is what you order and then it is 5 stars.

A Disappointing ExperienceOur first visit to Chiguacle Sabor Ancestral left us utterly disappointed. Hungry and relying on Yelp reviews, we stumbled upon this restaurant, only to be greeted by a rather dismal exterior - an almost empty parking lot and what seemed like an abandoned storefront. Despite our initial reservations, we decided to give it a chance.Upon entering, we were met with a spacious dining area occupied by just a handful of patrons, while the staff bustled about cleaning and preparing. A helpful lady eventually attended to us, and we eagerly perused the extensive menu, filled with intriguing yet unfamiliar options.Opting for the waiter's recommendations, we settled on Guacamole with chips and a Cadillac margarita for starters, followed by Mixiote de Borrego and Arrachera for our main courses. While the presentation of the dishes was visually appealing, the taste was a different story altogether.The Guacamole lacked flavor, leaving us underwhelmed, and the supposedly mild dip turned out to be overly spicy. The Carne Asada was a major letdown - dry, flavorless, and almost impossible to chew. Similarly, the Mixiote failed to impress, with tasteless meat that failed to melt in the mouth.To add insult to injury, the prices charged for these mediocre offerings were exorbitant, with the addition of a 3% "optional" kitchen gratuity charge before the subtotal. This unexpected fee, disguised as optional but mandatory in practice, left us baffled and disgruntled.It's one thing to encounter subpar food and service, but to be hit with such questionable billing practices was the final straw. Charging customers multiple mandatory tips, including a pre-tax and discount surcharge, is not only deceitful but disrespectful to patrons.In summary, our experience at Chiguacle Sabor Ancestral was nothing short of a disappointment. From the lackluster food to the dubious billing practices, this establishment falls short on all fronts. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this place.

Outstanding Mexican food! There is comfortable outdoor seating. The waitress was very helpful.As to the food, I had an really tasty chili relleno in the verde mole sauce. The sauce had a lot of depth and flavor. The chili was lightly battered, not heavily breaded like so many bad chili rellenos.We also shared the cauliflower in verde mole sauce. Really good as well.To try, I ordered a beer battered fish taco. Also really good.For desert we split a flan that was perfect. Not too sweet and the perfect density.I have this now in my favorite list.

The best snook (pescado zarandeado) in the Valley !!! I normally have to travel to LA for a good snook, but I discovered this place in sun valley and it is delicious. The staff are very friendly and has great customer service. I love the decorations as it makes the restaurant have a happy feel. The queso fundido with mushrooms was delicious and I will be back soon. I highly recommend this hidden Gem.

Such a great place to have lunch or dinner, with or without kids. This was my second time here and the ceviche is amazing. There's parking right in front & we were seated right away. The nice lady that was serving us was very accommodating to my 2 year old. We didn't order drinks this time but I remember the micheladas from last time were great.

I tried 3 of the mole varieties and they are amazing! Mole is such a complex and labor intensive sauce, and I appreciate what they have made. The interior is nicely done, and our server was very friendly as well. I'm coming back!
