Horrible Service. Either needs new owner or new management. Been coming here for more than 10years and this will probably be my last. We have been coming at times 3times a week so I know busy Chiba vs poor management. Today we come with 2 adults and 2 kids. Order the usual plus chicken teriyaki for the kids. So the teriyaki comes. The kids eat it. This has been 45-60min. Then I ask the waiter to check on sushi. He comes back to tell me. "Sorry they haven't started on your order yet". This is at least an hour after being seated. Then I ask what's the eta and I get "sorry we don't know yet we are really backed up". Are you serious?????Stop taking people. Tell me sorry our wait is over an hour to get food and I'll go elsewhere. To lose a loyal customer like me I am pretty sure you will lose many many more.

My family has been eating at Chiba for a few decades. They do a great job of offering Japanese comfort food and the more popular sushi. The attached pictures show a few of my go to dishes. It's not easy to get a table here, especially on the weekends. I always call at least a day before to make dinner reservations and try to get an early one because parking is limited. The restaurant is on the noisy side and service is always good.

I love Chiba! Amazing quality sushi, awesome staff and service, what more do you need? I've been here numerous times and honestly the food tastes better each time. Can't wait to come back for another visit!

I can't believe I've never left a review. I've been coming here almost as long as they have been open. The BEST Japanese restaurant in the Valley. Fantastic hot food and sushi bar. I know for a fact the owner goes deep sea fishing so it doesn't get any fresher than that!It feels like home. I've been here so much the staff and chefs do treat us like family. Highly recommend reservations for the weekend. Always crowded but worth the wait.

First time visit to this high end restaurant in NoHo. Staff greeted us and very friendly. Server took a while to attend to us. It was a Tuesday night and not busy. I ordered an edamame appetizer and the combination plate which included rice, miso soup, teriyaki salmon. It also came was a salad, sashimi, small cali rolls and tempura. The miso soup was not that flavorful to me. I enjoyed the teriyaki salmon, tempura and California rolls. The salmon sashimi was good but I didn't like the tuna as much. It's generally not my favorite but that's what comes with the combo plate. The portions seemed very small to me compared to the price of $28. I thought that was a bit on the high end. The restaurant decor seemed a little dated but was nice. Low lighting and plenty of seating. Nice place for a date night or special occasion.

Chiba is an oasis in the industrial desert it sits in. They have their own parking lot which is a huge bonus.I'm told that his place is family owned and operated since 1973. Staff was very welcoming.I had the #7 sushi roll, which was the Shrimp, Scallop, and Crab roll - fresh and outstanding flavor!

Location 3: In North Hollywood, CA in the SFV, off of Lankershim Blvd, a little South of Saticoy. Busy commercial/urban area. Stand-alone restaurant with its own parking lot that could get full at busy times. Limited street parking.Venue 3: Nothing fancy, but comfortable and spacious. Large sushi bar area. Indoor tables and booths as well as outdoor seating. They take reservations, so you will not have to wait long during busy times.Service 2: Polite but unfocused and infrequent. Diner beware that they tend to make you cut rolls when you have distinctly ordered hand-rolls, and they will do their darnedest to convince you to take it :D This has happened to me on several occasions.Food 2.5: Nice assortment of small and large Japanese plates, sushi and rolls, and noodles. I have been to Chiba several times, and the quality of fish is average at best. Everything tastes a little fishy and stale (though I always visit on weekends which is their busiest time). Their pricing is also above the norm compared to similar restaurants.Drinks 3.5: Large assortment of beer, sake, wine, soft drinks and tea. Pricing is a little above the norm. The last word 3: Nice place to relax and have some sushi, but not one of my first choices!

China is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Los Angeles. It came highly recommended by my actress friend Tamlyn Tomita of Karate Kid 2 and Cobra Kai fame. Their sushi and sashimi are the best in Los Angeles with creative variations on sushi and rolls. I have to recommend their Dynamite, a grilled mixture of seafood, is a must try. I take a lot of colleagues there for business lunches.
