Checker Hall

Excellent and unique food, smashing drinks, cool vibe and decor on point. The service was outstanding. I highly recommend Checker Hall! They have a new regular! The hummus and pita - beyond compare. The whipped feta with honey - O M GOSHSalmon skewer - cooked to perfection with a lovely salsa topping (very small portion though) The Cosmopolitan was sheer joy! I'm going back today for more!

I can't say enough great things about this place! First of all the ambiance is amazing! The decor is so cute and the vibes inside are incredible. We had a proper table, but honestly I'd love to come back and sit at the bar because it looks so lovely. The service was great as well - our server was so kind and helpful with suggestions, and really hit the nail on the head. We shared many small dishes:- Whipped Feta (5/5): oh my GOD I dream of this dish. I don't even really like feta and I was positively blown away by how tasty this was. It's a must get for a reason. - Delicata Squash Rings (4/5): these were very tasty little fried squash rings. The texture was great, and the dipping sauce was delish. It was a tasty dish but not as much a standout as the rest and quite small.- Sticky Sweet Potato (5/5): I am a sweet potato lover and I dream of these. So tasty and melt in your mouth good. Also a must get in my opinion!- Maitake Mushroom Skewer (5/5): okay again I'm not even the biggest mushroom fan, but the marinade on these was incredible, the mushrooms themselves were so flavorful and tender, and they were cooked to perfection. I was super super impressed.My friends also got a chicken schnitzel to share that they liked but didn't love. I am vegetarian so I'm always pro veggie, but my friends agree that the stars at this place are the vegetables. Please make it here at some point it is absolutely worth it!

Amazing ambience. Amazing food. Amazing staff. Food was delicious and fresh, came out in a timely manner. The drink selection was great and they serve mocktails as well which is considerate. The food was so delicious. My favorite appetizer had to be the whipped feta with pita bread (which was beyond fluffy btw). We sat on the balcony and could hear the live music well plus there were heaters so we weren't cold. This spot was a 10/10 for us. Will be back!

We tried several dishes: the crudo, squash rings, hummus with fresh pita, the lamb shank special (highly recommend), and the goddess salad. For drinks, we had the Screaming Parrot and the peanut butter whiskey cocktail. The food was incredible, the drinks were all great, and the service was excellent. The side dishes were smaller than expected, so I'd recommend ordering more than you think you'll need. The entrees were a decent size. The restaurant's vibe was relaxed and artsy, yet still elegant. It's a great spot for small to medium-sized groups. I'd definitely return!

Back again to celebrate New Year's Eve. We were looking for a festive place that we had been to before and came here. Although it was too late in the day to make reservations, they managed to squeeze us in when we arrived at 6:30. I had the wild parrot again and the salmon skewer, baba ghanoush and a salad. Service was great, people were happy.

TOOK SOME FRIENDS FOR DINNER==============================My husband and I took some friends for dinner. We raved about the chicken skewers. We ordered three chicken skewers for four of us and the Louisiana native couldn't even eat it because it was overly spicy. My husband and I had an upset stomach afterward. We have ordered this numerous times in the past. Sent a review on Resy with no response.The bathroom situation needs help. There is one gender neutral restroom and one men's restroom. There is always a long wait for the gender neutral one yet the men's only is not a problem. They don't let customers use the one for the Lodge Room. There needs to be some other options because this is not good.

Such a great vibe in the spot. Everything from the service to the decor, from the drinks to the dessert, hit the spot. The crudo was outstanding! As were the squash rings--yum! Oh and don't even get me started on the warm fresh pita with the hummus!! The chef's special was the lamb and OMG if they have this special when you go, you MUST try it. Sooo amazing, the rice/grains had amazing flavor, the shank was falling off the bone. And the portion is HUGE. Next time I will probably pass on the green goodness salad. It was just okay and the lettuce was left in whole leaves so I felt it was hard to eat. This place is great for small-medium groups but parking can be tough during dinner time on the weekends. I hope I get the chance to dine here again!

I recently went to Checker Hall with my boyfriend for a date night, and we had a lovely experience. We were sat on the balcony and I loved being able to see the moon. We ordered the grilled mushrooms, steak frites, and the whipped feta, which was absolutely divine. The mushrooms were perfectly charred and flavorful, while the steak was cooked just right and paired well with the crispy frites.The ambiance at Checker Hall was ideal for a date night--cozy, yet lively. The service was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive.Overall, it was a wonderful evening, and while it didn't quite reach that full 5-star "wow" factor, the food and atmosphere were impressive enough to highly recommend Checker Hall for a great dinner out, especially for a special night!

I came here for my birthday with my best friends and had a great time! The ambiance was lovely with live music, our servers were Brandy and Tim and they took such good care of us. The food was delicious, it was hard to choose.. but luckily they offered great suggestions. They also were extremely mindful of an allergy at the table and made sure to inquire or give notes on each dish that was safe since we were doing family style.Highly recommend the mushrooms, hummus, and feta..perfection!It was a very memorable evening, we will definitely be back!

Checker Hall is the perfect spot for a night out with friends. I've been twice with my girlfriends, and it never disappoints. The craft cocktails are incredible, thoughtfully made, and perfectly balanced. And the food? Just have all of it. The whipped feta everyone raves about is worth the hype, the schnitzel is divine, and the sweet potato dish is unforgettable. Service did not lack, they hire true artists of hospitality here. The venue is so much fun and beautifully designed, giving off New York lounge, speakeasy vibes that instantly set the tone for a great night. The DJ on Friday and Saturday adds just the right energy for a fun, elevated night out. Between the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food, it's a full experience. I can't wait to go back and eat more goodness!
