I just wish I could explain how amazing this dinner was! My fiance found this restaurant for date night & it was such a hit. First, Cesare himself and his beautiful wife Pamela are there every night ensuring everything is running perfectly. The food is just next level. The pasta in the video is the one with fish eggs and the photo is the Veal risotto. This was the type of meal that just made you want to keep eating! Unreal taste and ambiance. Service was impeccable. We can't wait to be back!!

On a recent visit trip to SoCal I was able to extend a night to see an old friend in LA. Even though I have a lot of great options for Italian on the East Coast, I mentioned my cravings for pasta and she noted that a new restaurant opened nearby her home and she had been meaning to try. Fortunately, they were able to squeeze us in on short notice.Walking in, the vibe is sophisticated yet welcoming. I had already scoped out the menu ahead of time but knew I'd need help on selecting wines. I love trying new wines, but am by no means an expert. The sommelier guided us to some great options in our price point. We noticed the Baby Artichoke Salad was being served at a number of tables around us and decided to give it a try. It was perfect. I realize why it's a house a favorite. Our server suggested we also share the Pinsa with Brie & Pears. Fine... twist my arm. He explained that it's an ancient way the Roman's made pizza. I didn't know anything about Pinsa until that day and will now be looking for it.For our mains, I had the Bolognese and my friend tried the Ravioli. Of course, we had to try each other's dish and, honestly, I can't say which was better. The Ravioli was hand-made and delicate. The Bolognese had such an amazing flavor that I am getting hungry just writing this review. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Tart. Divine. I love when you can have several courses plus dessert and feel full / satisfied because you are eating food that is not only thoughtfully crafted but the best quality.Long story short: I've come to a point in life where I'm over going to the so-called chic new restaurants and just getting "meh" results on food and service. Cesare's Ristorante goes above and beyond in their cuisine, service, and style. You can tell that the owners (who are so warm and welcoming with their guests) have put a lot into making something special. Most importantly, you leave with great memories with the one you are dining with - or if you're dining alone, I imagine you won't feel lonely because you will be treated so graciously.

I am a bit late to the party eating at Cesare. But I am now a fanThe restaurant is a perfect size with an inviting dimly lit decor. The bar is populated with wine bottles as they await their liquor license. Which is why I question the reason for such a high $50 corkage feeHowever the service and the food were all top notch. Our server was Philipo who was professional, personable and attentiveWhen we first got there, the restaurant was 50 percent full at 7 pm. By 8:30 pm every table, the bar and outside tables were packedHere is what we had We started with the focaccia pinsa bread and pear & cheese pinsa that were delicious. I recommend the pear pinsa The artichoke salad was one of the best in the city although a bit small on the portion sideThe meatballs were addictive and I soaked the pinsa in the well balanced sauceThe pesto gnocchi sauce was great but not a huge fan of gnocchi Linguini with clams were cooked perfect and the sauce and clam sauce were bringing me to the east coast shores with every bite. The clams were a decent size for west coast restaurants- not tiny manila clams that have no business calling themselves clams. The mushroom risotto was loaded with umami and I loved the nutty yet creamy texture of the risotto The Branzino was one of the best in the city. Fresh and the piccata was almost infused into the fishThere were vegetables too. Spinach and green beans that were farm fresh and cleanAll this food and $50 corkage fee for four people before tip was $350. This is a great place for a birthday or anniversary, unless you are loaded- then go once a week!I will be back and recommend you try Cesare as well

Cesare and in particular, his dad Bruno, are the reason why the LA Italian food scene is what it is today. A master chef, Bruno taught the many dozens of chef entrepreneurs how to craft remarkable Italian food. There is a great Angelino magazine article about the foundations of LA Italian cuisine worth checking out.As some might already know, the Vietina brothers started Madeo together in the 90s and ran one of Hollywood's most famous and legendary restaurants. It was the place to be with consistent food day in and day out. I'm proud to have spent two decades with the family making incredible memories and eating some of the best food in the world. After the construction close down of 8899 Beverly Blvd, the iconic Madeo closed down. While it has since reopened in West Hollywood and cousin Gianni has opened a fantastic bakery in Bianca, the magic of Madeo died the day it closed down. That's the harsh reality, and while Madeo today is still a solid albeit very different experience, some things must come to an end.But I digress. Cesare is as close to Madeo you'll get and almost feels like a resurrection of the original concept. Cesare has always been passionate about service, dining and cuisine and comes from a bloodline of masters. His new spot is just that, an extension of the old master. Dishes that have been consistently legendary for 40+ years but in a spot that's subdued, mellow and without all the artificial fanfare of the current day Madeo. Unfortunately, times have changed and Madeo has turned into a bit of a marketing machine. Of course, I wish them all the luck in the world but the bygone days of A list celebrities, heavyweight executives, family, friends and an overall amazing time are over.I think Cesare is next in line for that accomplishment and I certainly do wish the most success upon a great guy, a great family - all of them - all the Vietina's.This is a place that can be a special occasion, this is a place that can be weekly regular destination, this is a place that will make you feel welcome and at ease and most important of all, this is a place that serves remarkable Northern Italian food that does not get any better for those who truly know food. Forget all the LA hype nonsense, TikTok videos and overall lunacy that this town has become. Legends whisper, Cesare is just that.

My wife and I went to Cesare last night for our anniversary. It has the best authentic Italian food in the city - it's become our go-to spot. Fantastic, creative pizzas, excellent pastas, and last night, we had the steak entree, which was divine. Nice wine selection too. The ambience is classy yet chill. The owners, Cesare and Pamela, are gracious, kind, and always take care of us. Jay S.

The food was decent , but they took about 30 minutes each time to bring out the appetizer , pasta , and main course. When we go out steak it was cold. They didn't even make us a new steak they just heated up the plate and that barely warmed up the steak. They don't come check up on the customers and see if everything is all good . They have their select few that they check up on .
