Oh I love this restaurant, great place to celebrate special occasions. We've been here a few times. The last was to celebrate our two sons birthday! Our waiter was amazing charismatic and good looking. Food was delicious, although we could have skipped the appetizers. We'll be back for sure. Someday we hope to get seated outside to enjoy the beautiful Valley skyline.

Wow...that was disappointing Don't go to the brunch that's for sure! They basically run out of everything and charge you for everything...very expensive! Mimosas were always 1/2 full and my friends only were able to have 3 each...then they said they were out. But we saw them still bringing them out later...And they are advertised as "bottomless"There certainly was a bottom! All in all they probably each only had 1.5 glasses...Service was fair at best - the guy was trying but we had to ask for stuff numerous times - everything took a long time. They seem to be understaffed and not supplied well. You can't advertise that a drink has a peach in it and then not put a peach in it!Eggs Benedict - eggs were over cookedVery loud there so good luck having a conversation And then forced valet for $11I'm never going back

I've always wanted to try this spot, and it didn't disappoint! My friends and I got the 3-course Dine LA dinner menu for $65/person and everything was spectacular!FOOD:- Paid Vacation ($24): Such a good vodka cocktail, and the presentation of it is so fun! You can bite the flower to numb your tongue which made the drinking experience interesting to say the least. Warning the flower tastes bitter. - The Wedge: Imagine a salad that has tomatoes, blue cheese, and bacon, but the lettuce is left as a full wedge. Something about that makes it more fun to eat.- Crispy Brussels Sprouts: Flavorful and stood well on its own without any sauce. - Truffle Popcorn Chicken: There's both popcorn chicken and actual popcorn, which was unique, but we found it quite spicy. Our spice tolerances are on the lower side, but I wish I could've ate more than two pieces. It didn't have truffle flavor though.- Short Rib: Now this... was so good. Fall-apart short ribs with smooth truffle mashed potatoes, amazing! The broccolini and crispy onions were great to have on the side so the meat and mashed potatoes didn't feel too heavy.- Wild Mushroom Pappardelle Pasta: Prominent truffle flavor and the sauce wasn't heavy. We also loved this.- Chocolate Lava Cake: Perfect sweet treat to end the meal! It was a perfect lava consistency and you cannot go wrong with the juxtaposition of cold vanilla ice cream and fresh whipped cream to go with it. SERVICE/AMBIANCE: We made a reservation for a Thursday dinner, and I'm glad we did because it got quite packed. Our waitress was so kind and incredibly helpful with our questions regarding food allergies and checking up on us. Loved the overall vibe of the restaurant and it was a nice place to have a meal while catching up. PARKING: Lot available, but it's valet only.OVERALL: I'm super happy to finally tried Castaway and the Dine LA menu was a really great deal! Hopefully I can come back when it's not raining to fully enjoy the view and also just try other dishes.

Came here to for the views and to try their dineLA - so surprised that it took me so long to make a visit here!Great spot for date night and plentiful seating indoors and outdoors. We were sat outdoors but there were plenty of heaters to keep us warm. DineLA - we both ordered the seafood tower as the starter. This exceeded my expectations because I was not expecting the amount of shrimp and oysters provided. For entree, I ordered the short ribs and this was also a delight and decent portions. For dessert, I ordered the key lime pie, a bit on the smaller side but enjoyable. Try the lava cake if you love chocolate.Parking is valet only.

We dined here today for the first time for brunch and had an absolutely fabulous experience. My husband and l both did bottomless mimosas for drinks. I did traditional mimosas, while my husband tried the lavender charcoal, watermelon dragon fruit, and cucumber mint. His rankings:Lavender charcoal: 10/10Watermelon dragon fruit: 9/10Cucumber mint: 7.5/10For food, I had the quiche (10/10!!!) And my husband had the chicken and waffles (9.5/10). We shared the garlic fries on the side! Aside from the food, the views are amazing and the staff are all very nice and friendly.Overall I can't recommend castaway enough. We cannot wait to go back for dinner!

I haven't been here in some time, but we had family visiting from another country and they heard about castaway and really wanted to come here. We came on a weekday and it was not busy. Our server was really nice and accommodating, but we did not have the best experience overall. We ordered drinks and it look literally 30 minutes to come, we got our appetizers before we got our drinks. They let us know that the bartender was backed up, but this was a bit much. We didn't say anything or complain, but when my drink came it was awful, I've ordered this every-time I came and this time you could even see by the color of it that it was done incorrectly, and from the taste you could tell also. I asked if they could redo it, the second one took 45 minutes to come out and it was exactly the same as the first one. I could drink that one either and the server was nice to remove it from the bill. Our food took ages to come out, we were there for 2.5 hours and that wasn't by choice, it was because we were constantly waiting on things. From 6:30 reservation, we left at 9pm, it took our entire evening. The food was delicious, that part was wonderful, but we ordered garlic fries and that never came out, we asked about it 3 times and it never came. After we got home I checked the receipt and I completely forgot that I ordered salad for the table, it never arrived and we were charged for it... that was not ok. Most of this stuff was not on our server, I think they were understaffed and he was really working hard and trying to update us. He gave us a free dessert for our patience. Not the best experience here, so I will probably wait on coming back, but I highly recommend the short ribs for anyone who's coming here.

This place has exceptional views, nice vibes, but mediocre food. I would potentially come back for the green room and crafty drinks tho. Made a reservation on a Sunday evening, but still had to wait 15-20 min for a table despite it not being busy. We were hoping to sit closer to the window but were told tables on the lower level could not accommodate our party size (only to have a party of 6 seated there shortly after lol) ANYWAYS benefit of the doubt, perhaps they were understaffed- For appetizers got: - complimentary jalapeno cornbread drizzled with honey with an atypical type of butter. I can appreciate the uniqueness of this, but it was served lukewarm and it was dry. We're typically a fan of housemade bread but this ain't it. - Crispy Brussel Sprouts $20.00: this was probably the tastiest thing we had. wasn't as crispy as I'd hope, but it had a sweet chili flavor going on, and we all liked it- Calamari $24.00: this is usually one of the things you can't go wrong with, but this was stale and had an offputting aftertaste... definitely one of the worst calamaris I've had imo Drinks:- Seoul on Fire $19.00: Dad liked this a lot! he LOVES spice, and he ate all of the thai chili pepper that it came along with. he did not need the pocky sticks of shrimp chip it came with meant to offset the spice lol. i thought it was pretty good too - Paid Vacation $23.00: fruity and totally up my mom's alley. the buzz button (szechuan flower) was cute, though I'm not sure how it was supposed to complement the palette. came in this adorable hanging glass bowl- Honedew You Believe It?$18.00: i got bamboozled by the honeydew. there was a subtle taste of the latter, but the WHISKEY. this is just their take on an old-fashioned whiskey, and if that's not for you, don't get it lol - Espresso Martini $19.00 w/ Titos. SO liked it. He still likes caselena's more tho. I'm not much of a coffee gal, but I somehow liked this better than my whiskey lol. - Corona-BTL $8.00Food: - Miso Marinated Butterfish $49.00: truly buttery and can def taste the miso. Still somehow tasted fishy though??? came with broccolini and thai black rice. rice was sweeter than I'd like. - Seared Icelandic Salmon $43.00- Angus Dry-Aged Ribeye 18oz $64.00, medium rare: this was HUGE. def shareable between two. had to help SO and my dad finish it LOL. the crispy edges were tasty and probably the best of the entrees we got. - Wagyu Zabuton 8oz $43.00, Medium Well: this was def undercooked, and quite red. not as tasty as the angus. - Chilled Oysters (6) $27.00 Oysters Mix: 3 small ones were from Baja Cali and the larger ones were from virginia. both were tasty! Tabasco was served in this cute lil glass bowl but it was hard to scoop with the spoon lol. also served with vinaigrette and cocktail sauce.Outdoor seating didn't look as comfortable, but it was nice and toasty with the heaters. Parking is $11, valet only. No option to self park even if there's plenty of parking.

Very overrated! The food is mediocre and the tomato salad should definitely not be called tomato salad lol.The smell in there is pretty funky and the table that barely wiped.I give 3 stars because the waiter was nice and the view unbeatable :)
