Hidden gem in Toluca Lake. And there's parking! It's a small lot up the driveway but also you can easily find street parking nearby if the lot is full. They have a decent happy hour here - a small discount on a selection of tacos and drinks. Their classic marg is really good! I had their sirloin steak tacos and really enjoyed them. One order comes with two tacos. A little on the pricey side per taco but they're good and the ambiance is nice. They also serve free chips & salsa and the chips are great.

First off: sorry for the blurry pictures. I didn't realize until after I took them and posted that I had a smudge on my lens.First time here. I'm a big happy hour or if you want to call me; budget minded guy, that's me. I was talking to a friend who's business is a couple of doors down. He told me that Cascabel is over priced and the food wasn't worth what they charge. That's exactly why I thought I try them out during happy hour!I was expecting average but was pleasantly surprised to get delicious. Everything had so much flavor! The margs were good but a little too acidic for my taste. Ok, i had two just to be sure. ;)The prices on the regular menu are definitely on the higher end but at the same time, the individuals living in this neighborhood can probably handle it. Not your typical Mexican restaurant for sure so don't expect refried beans. A definite spin on being unique.

Delicious food, chill vibes. The short rib and pork belly tacos were delicious. We also tried the diablo shrimp and the branzino. Very flavorful food. The seasonal drink was a blood orange margarita which was as good as it looked. Also, parking was easy! Great spot for a chill date night.

Cascabel has such a beautiful ambiance. It's literally like entering a getaway from the entrance to the interior design. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is wonderful as full. I ordered 1 watermelon margarita since my date didn't want a full sized drink. We were pretty surprised when the server arrived with 2 smaller cups with the watermelon margarita so we can share it. The drink was refreshing! The first basket of chips and salsa is complimentary. My rating of the tacos: 1. Lobster 2. Fried chicken3. Pork belly4. Duck ConfitAll the tacos were great, I rated the pork belly and duck lower since I personally found it to be a little on the saltier side. The Mexican cornbread was great too with the contrast of sweet and savory.

Always a good time at Cascabel. Love coming for Happy Hour if we can -- bacon guacamole, house margarita, fried chicken tacos, and chicken mole enchiladas are go-tos.

I'm just going to get this out there: grew up in SD on Latin food. Granted, it was mostly Mexican food and this is a Spanish place but the vibe was still the same: this place has good food but does it have authentic food? No but it is an upscale Latin place.Chips and salsa: tasty and fresh a fan of both.Guacamole with bacon: it was okay. Kinda shocked it was so expensive given the portion size.Short rib taquitos: our favorite thing. Tasty and the bean sauce it came with was great.Fried chicken tacos: flavorful but definitely needed a wet element. Kinda on the dry side.Mexican cornbread: meat was cooked to perfection. Wish it had been drenched in more sauce though. Cornbread was good.Mole potatoes: the mole was really peanut-y and spicy. I love spicy but this is truly only for spicy lovers. I had to eat it all as the people I went with couldn't finish it given that.Tres leches cake: yeah this one disappointed me a lot. VERY dry and not soaked through.Drinks: this is where this place had me. Tasty. Strong. All in all this place was kinda expensive for non authentic small portions. But it is an adorable location and perfect for an intimate hang. I'd come here for drinks and an appetizer but would pass on full scale plates.Service was also pretty slow.Parking is street or they have a lot up the side.

It was my first time trying this place and it's kind of hidden. If you're passing by you might not even know there's a restaurant there it looks like a residential home. There's convenient parking right in the back which is helpful but it also seems like there is street parking too just in case that's full. I went on a Sunday evening. The service was great. We were seated right away for our reservation. I ordered a mocktail but it was a little too sweet for me. We ordered some appetizers and a whole lot of tacos to share. The tacos were sadly disappointing. I think the only thing that was absolutely delicious was the guac but it's also very hard to mess that up. The dessert was also very delicious. The food was average it wasn't bad but it wasn't wow either. The shrimp looked small and tasted bitter, the pork belly was good but I could only have one bite due to the fattiness of it. The ambiance was good and food slightly disappointing. They might have other items on the menu that taste better but not too inclined to go back.

The food is amazing, well seasoned, and you definitely need to give Cascabel a try. We tried the shrimp tacos, red snapper tacos, lobster tacos, and the guacamole. You can skip the lobster tacos but everything else is fire. Our favorite was the red snapper tacos. The service was exemplary, full of energy and very engaging. Our server encouraged us to try some of the popular drinks and they were fantastic as well. Perfect for date night with dim lighting to enhance the mood. Tons or artwork to enhance the vibe.
