A cozy authentic steakhouse serving top quality meat. I really enjoyed the filet mignon steak (Bife de Lomo). Although, a recommendation when ordering: Order a level more rare than your typical go-to because the steak continues to cook on that black serving plate. I should have ordered medium rare, in order to enjoy it at the medium level. Service was the best part. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. You feel like you're apart of their family. I will definitely come back to try out their other meat cuts.

We had so much fun dining here with a friend the other night. Service was pretty good, but server was a bit clumsy. The atmosphere is cute and quaint since it is not a big place. It filled up and was pretty busy for a Monday night. Our ribeye steaks were over cooked and more medium/medium well instead of medium rare. But everything had a good taste. Our friend shared his NY steak with us because his came medium rare and he wanted medium. When steak is your main draw, it's best it comes out the correct temperature. The truffle fries were also a hit, crunchy and fried to perfection, and the garlic was sooo good. We didn't have room for dessert but maybe next time.

Exquisite! I was a little taken aback when I walked in and the space seemed small. But the ambiance of the black and white portraits, dim lighting, and the walls of wine bottles automatically gives this place warmth and coziness. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. For our appetizers, we were served the fresh bread with the chimichurri sauce. Their house chimichurri sauce is absolutely delicious! It has a nice kick to it which is how I like it. We also enjoyed the Papas Fritas Provenzal fries. Goodness, it was addicting! Crunchy, a little salty and garlicky at the same time (I am salvating). We also had the mushrooms, Chorizo, the A La Crema creamed corn, and salad as our sides dishes. We are God's favorite because we were served 4 different cuts of meats on the same board. Each of them were cooked to perfection. Our server masterfully cut the steaks before our eyes. I recorded this for you. My favorite was the skirt steak! All that seasoning was soaked into this piece! Why not add to this amazing experience and have dessert? I did. Over the top we go...I had the Mascarpone tart, it just made my heart so happy. I mean...it's like reading a book from start to finish. I cannot wait to come back:)

If you're looking for a cozy, romantic spot with incredible food, Carlitos Gardel is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance immediately set the mood--intimate, warm lighting, and a genuine, welcoming vibe that made it feel like a special night out.The real stars of the meal were the skirt steak and empanadas. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly tender, and packed with flavor--it honestly might be the best skirt steak I've ever had. As for the empanadas, they were crisp on the outside and filled with a deliciously seasoned mix that left us wanting more. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking to enjoy some top-notch Argentine cuisine, Carlitos Gardel delivers. I'll definitely be coming back!

We ordered the Parrillada Argentina, which is supposed to be for two people, but the portion was huge--easily enough to feed four. Unfortunately, it was way too salty for us, and some edges were burnt. The inside was super tender, but the saltiness made it hard to enjoy since we couldn't stop drinking water. On top of that, the restaurant was so dark we could barely see our food, which made the whole experience less enjoyable. That said, the Noquis de Papa completely stole the show. The sauce was smooth, flavorful, and not too salty--easily the best I've ever had. If I go back, it'll definitely be for that!

We start off with some agua con gas...and bread and chimichurri...Argentina is changing ... with new super undervalued currency... an increase in violent crime especially in the city of Rosario Santa Fe... a Dictatorship seems looming with Milei's new presidency...and callous politics...economic crashes pending ...weak govt policies approving banned pesticides from USA and exiled in Europe now in Argentina'a food supply...makes me wonder if their grass fed beef will be affected...Not to worry...We have Carlitos Gardel Argentine Steakhouse to transport us to what Argentina once was...And still IS some would say...at least here anyway...Here's hoping! We started off with some delicious beef empanadas... fried ... not sure if they have a baked option...Then some achuras that came with the parrillada... the mollejas were juicy and tender and absolutely perfect with some crunchiness here and there... the morcilla paired well with some fresh bread and chimichurri sauce and the chorizos tasted classically Pancho! The skirt steak and short cut ribs stole the show because that's what Argentina does best... the meats... some limón over the bbq grilled mollejas... yea that makes it better...so much better... the Mollejas; Steaks; and Ribs were all grilled to perfection... not a dry note in the house...The fries disappeared in seconds...Then for dessert ... Dulce de leche con flan and a perfectly made cappuccino to finish me off...My date was satiated...she'll stop hunting for small animals for at least a few more weeks...but her hunger pangs have been hard to ignore...at least for now.....if at least for a few more days...these meats will buy us more time...lolMy belly rejoiced with my nostalgia...for everything that makes Argentina legendary...I sit back in my chair and think about everything I said about Argentina...thinking about the three stars and how we're ready for a fourth! With Di Maria retiring I'm thinking Julian Alvarez will do as a new replacement...There's good with the bad...and bad with the good... in the end I pray that Argentina pulls through and gets their home issues in order ...there's a lot to chew on there right about now...But any nostalgia has now disappeared... I'm home again...3000 miles from home...we love LA...Not to mention the service here was superb... with over five different servers tending to our table ... we were never left needing or wanting a thing...I think we dropped a fork and there was someone there in seconds to replace it...This is what Argentina is supposed to feel like...PerfectionAnd it is...at least HERE ...in Los Angeles...Right here on Melrose...At least ...for the time being...

The ambiance was a cozy, private setting with dim lighting and live music, creating a perfect atmosphere. The service was excellent--everyone was attentive and always had a smile. After dinner, the chef personally greeted our table to ensure everyone was satisfied, which was a great touch. The stuffed mushrooms were a favorite among our group. My steak was cooked medium, though I wish I had ordered it medium rare. Overall, I loved the intimate dining experience!

one of my favorite must-try restaurants in los angeles! carlitos steakhouse is an armenian- argentine family owned, cozy restaurant on melrose ave. the restaurant features an amazing wine menu that pairs perfectly with each course. executive chef gerard bozoghlian creates the most delicious dishes that are cooked to perfection. the appetizers are delicious, the ribeye cap was prepared perfectly and the chimichurri glaze on the fish is very flavorful. personally, the highlight on the menu is the gnocchi pasta with spinach, ricotta and tomato cream. i am not too crazy about gnocchi pasta, but this one is a MUST try! i also love that their live entertainment is maestro ando mouradian on the accordion, he does an amazing job!
