Food quality: 5/5Presentation: 5/5Service: 5/5Vibes: Good!Value: 5/5Return? YesThis place definitely deserves the (good) reviews that it has. I got the special short-rib burrito, and, given that this is a breakfast place, there is no reason why it should be so good. To put this in perspective, the quality of the short-ribs were on par with nicer restaurants I've been to. I also got one of the smoothies, which was great. My girlfriend got pancakes, which she was very happy with! Overall, good service, nice place, and high value food, just a little cold inside.

Good service, I just didn't love the food I ordered when I came here. I got the Avocado Toast and was pleasantly surprised to see it came with eggs, usually it's an add-on. In the end though, I was pretty disappointed in it and wish I ordered something else. Everything was cold which I don't think is normal and the flavors just weren't there for me. I thought it was odd there were pieces of romaine lettuce on the avo toast. Appreciate health-ifying it but I think when you start to add sandwich toppings, it makes it more of a cold sandwich than a warm breakfast dish. I prefer the version I make at home. My friend got the protein breakfast bowl and really liked it. So it just depends on what you get!

This place is unreasonably good. You don't expect that from a hole in the wall in a cheesy shopping center corner. Their Mexican food is high end, wonderfully flavorful and even the rib eye chilaquiles dish was perfectly prepared. I hope writing this doesn't mean I won't be able to get a table if this goes viral, but they really deserve a knockout write up. Thank you Cafe Belen, what a delicious surprise.

Very cute and cozy hole-in-the wall. Loved how small and obviously family owned. We got the chilaquiles, pan fried steak and eggs, a coffee and hot horchata coffee. I loved how attentive and prompt the service was. Prices were average for an LA restaurant. Most people actually did pick up/to-go orders especially office workers. There was also plenty of parking. For a brunch restaurant in the Sawtelle/Westwood side, give Cafe Belen a try if you're in the area.

Wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before a yoga class. Found this spot and heard a lot of great things, so was really excited to try it. It definitely exceeded my already high expectations. The staff greeted me very warmly and were very friendly, making conversation with me. I had the protein breakfast bowl and the berry mango smoothie. The bowl was incredible, such amazing high quality ingredients and they give you so much food. It had chicken and 2 eggs in it. The smoothie had such a great sweet flavor. It's a beautiful restaurant with such a cool vibe. Will be coming back soon.

Healthy | Price = $18 | service = average | cleanliness = average | interior = cafe style, wooden, casual |parking = decent but gets busyOrder the blackened chicken sandwich with side of fries for $18. A hidden restaurant but Cafe Belen seems to have a good selection of food and mix of breakfast and lunch. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. Some places make their chicken too blackened but this wasn't the case at Cafe Belen. Do you must avocado and the sandwich was a perfect addition to add some additional healthiness to it. The shoestring like fries were crispy and done very well. The way that they do it is how french fries should be done.Cafe Belen seems to have a healthier focused on many others. That makes it a great choice to eat at this restaurant and try the other foods on the menu as well.

Cafe Belen just celebrated two years in business. I will make a prediction based on the food and say that they will be in business for a long time. I ordered the pancakes with fresh fruit and walnuts as well as a hot matcha latte (you need to specify hot for your drinks or else the default is iced). The pancakes were flavorful and fluffy while the latte was sweet (because I added a lot of sugar) and refreshing. Their music playlist will have you grooving along while you eat. Julio, one of the owners, sat down with me and shared that his family is from Guatemala and they used to roast coffee beans. Now he prefers tea over coffee which is how I ended up ordering their matcha latte when I asked for recommendations. Their service is top notch - the whole team was very attentive and kind. I love finding hidden gems that are minority owned businesses. They have an outdoor patio which could be nice on warm days (and good for the instagrammable photos) but I recommend the inside dining because it's quieter (no street noise) and more intimate (no flies joining your party). Parking is not great in this area. You're not likely to snag a spot in their attached lot but you may find metered parking on the street.
