"Lovely and warm atmosphere with friendly, charming staff. Food was stellar! Tri Colore salad and calzone were the best I have ever eaten. Music was a bit loud, so maybe turn it down a bit - your place inspires conversation!Odd to read all the vegan haters reviews. So sad they had a judgy experience."
"Sugar Taco is one of my favorite spots to grab food in LA!! I've literally had almost everything on their menu at this point. Burritos, tacos, nachos, churro donuts - I love it all! Like I love it so much that I usually order two meals for myself so I can have more the next day. My go-to protein is the carne asada but I also love the pollo. I also feel like everything is reasonably priced for such quality, plant-based food. The restaurant itself is insanely cute and beautifully decorated - capturing the fun, instagram-worthy vibe of LA mixed with the vibrance of Mexican culture. Presentation is flawless! Plus, staff have always been fab! Occasionally I've had to wait longer for pickup than the estimated time so just something to keep in mind.Sugar Taco is the full package and I recommend it to everyone. My whole family has fallen in love. Can't wait for my next Sugar Taco stop!"

"Really solid vegan fried chicken sandwich. Loved the crunchwrap too. Great service as well."
"Okay, if you love Indian food, you need to get yourself to Roots Indian Bistro - it's next level! We kicked things off with the most refreshing rose water and mango drinks. Then the Bhel Puri .. it was crispy, spicy, and packed with flavor. The Samosas were Crunchy a with a fluffy potatoes filling .. so delicious! The Dosa Quesadilla was so unique - thin dosa filled with smoked tomato and grilled onions, paired with the coconut lentil dip was seriously so good. The Nirvana Curry was a spicy creamy goodness, and dipping their fresh naan in it was heaven. The Grilled Chicken Tikka was a total win for the kids - juicy, tender, and full of flavor. We finished our amazing meal with rose doughnuts (light and sweet) and the creamiest rice pudding. Seriously, if you're craving Indian food, Roots is the place to go!Also the place is so beautifully decorated and the service was top notch! Can't wait to be back"
"Simply wonderful. Truly a different experience. Beautiful decor with soft pink and mint green theme. And yes, surrounded with plants (many for sale.) No decaf available. Some limited egg dishes as well as wonderful pastries. Very, very pleasant staff"
"I love this spot. It's my favorite go-to Japanese comfort food place in all of LA now. Their cozy booths really can only be had with a reservation, but the best part about this place is their authentic Japanese bar connected next door. They even hand-chisel imported Japanese block ice just like they do in the Land of The Rising Sun. It's a perfect way to end a reasonably priced meal, a lovingly created night cap (or 3) next door without having to park or take a Waymo somewhere else. And the craziest (and best) part is their kitchen is indeed open until 3 AM. Now that's what I'm talking about!"
"The chef here has gifted tastebuds. We came for some late night bites. After eating here, we realized this ought to have been our main course. As non vegetarians our bias led us astray from the clear winner, Veggie House! The chickn satay was so good. Frankly the images do not allow this to appear a 1/8 as good as it tastes. The fresh rolls, full of an assortment of veggies, not just 2-3 like some spots, were also delicious. They were massive as well. The menu says 2 fresh rolls, but consider it 4 standard fresh rolls. Two sauces were provided to choose from, generous enough you will not run out of either, if selecting only one. The first was a standard yummy peanut sauce. The second was a remarkable clear sauce made up of cilantro, basil and some [insert amazing combo I could not dream up1]. I wanted to take this sauce home, purchase it regularly, indefinitely. Wow.Highly recommend this spot to any and all enjoy Thai. You will not find disappointments nor mediocrity here!"
"A beautiful, cozy restaurant serving authentic Indian food and outstanding service. Electric Karma ambiance is a special blend of vibrant colors with comfortable booth and table seating, and warm, soft lighting."
"Pregnant and craving spicy tuna crispy rice. I ordered the vegan spicy tuna crispy rice which has the spicy tuna from fysh foods and can confirm it lived up the real deal.Even ordering delivery, the crispy rice was hot and crunchy not soggy at all. It's a must try!"
"I'd seen this place on IG and I'd been meaning to check them out. Ridiculously delicious!!! I had a BBQ burger (impossible burger topped with their signature bbq, pickles & coleslaw) - top notch. Seriously. Even the bun was amazing (prepped just right).Had to reach out to let them know how much i enjoyed it! I will absolutely be back for more."
"My bestie and I have a rotation of restaurants and bars we like to meet up at, but for the first time in a while, we decided to try someplace new. Best decision ever! Prosecco Trattoria is an absolute gem, and one of the finest Italian restaurants I've been to. The restaurant has an elegant interior design with classy decor comprised of chandeliers, cream-colored walls, renaissance crown molding, and stunning antique artwork and murals adorning the walls. Service was outstanding. We were greeted with smiles, and the various staff we interacted with were all friendly and attentive. Despite feeling somewhat out of place when I first entered the upscale-looking restaurant (I was in jeans and a t-shirt due to running errands all day), I was put at ease by the staff's warm welcome. As for the food, Prosecco Trattoria serves up delicious high-quality Italian cuisine. They have a variety of pastas and entrees to choose from, so much so that I had a difficult time deciding. I ultimately went with the chicken artichoke fusilli pasta, which was like an elevated version of aglio e olio, with chicken, artichoke hearts, and sundried tomatoes in addition to the garlic, olive oil, and spinach. The dish was squisito! Just writing about it is making me crave it again. Haha. We also tried the bread pudding and Panna cotta for dessert, and both confections were rich and sumptuous. All in all, I had a fabulous time here at Prosecco Trattoria, and I can't wait to return!"
"I must say, I had a really good friend that found this place. He asked me if I was interested in going, and I said sure why not! I live by Beach and I never go inland and I thought why not try something new. Prior to my experience here my friend sent me a YouTube of the owner on the news, talking about her business and her spices, and that really enticed me and impressed me .Being that, I've never been here before. I wasn't sure the Ordering process or seating arrangements. .I was a little bit taken back by the fact that we did not get greeted when we entered the restaurant area where the cooks are . No hello no welcome. No I'll be right with you. Nothing that was a little bit disappointing I said hello either way . When I first walked in and nobody responded. They just looked at me like they were ghosts. Lol. I kept looking at the register, thinking that somebody was going to come out from another area to help us, but nobody came, and after around 10 minutes of standing there, looking at each other, finally one of the cooks walked over to finally take our order. Was this a good first impression absolutely not was this a warm welcoming definitely not. With that said, I'm pretty sure the Restaurant owner is not aware of the way her staff is treating customers so I think it is a good point for me to bring this up so that she can address it . Everyone that walks in that Restaurant should have some sort of hello or greeting and also to let the customer know that they'll be right with you. Now, for the good part! The ambience the seating, the view, the architecture, all the articles and write ups. The music was popping and pretty incredible if you ask me. The food was absolutely incredible. I really enjoyed my chicken taco and my shrimp taco although the shrimp taco was a little too oily. In my opinion, maybe next time I'll tell the cook no oil. The seasoned chips were outrageously good the seasoning was so delicious. We ended up ordering two bags of chips, guacamole My friend ordered the steak nachos and it was presented beautifully with very fresh ingredients. Lots of tomatoes, cilantro, black beans. My friend was just moaning the entire time he was eating them. It was hilarious. We also ordered the pineapple cheesecake and it was so good .I really enjoyed the food here. It definitely was soulful and the music and the lights in the evening were really beautiful. Plenty of parking although I think they should take away the parking and make it just all seating and people can park in the street but if you do decide to dine in here, you can park in the lot or on the streetI am ultimately basing my review on the DELICIOUS food, quality presentation location, music ambience . Unfortunately the service was not great and definitely needs improvement."

Funny enough, you would never suspect this oncoming rave review would come from a person who got sat at arguably the worst table in the house - a skinny table at the rear of the restaurant, right in front of the bathrooms. But, the truth of the matter is...it didn't matter. Walking in without a reservation a couple months ago, the place was packed, so my gf and I left. This time, I made a reservation and got in. The atmosphere was dark yet lively, making the atmosphere feel like a well kept secret / a quasi-speakeasy. Our server was on it from the get-go, and super attentive to our needs. Here's what we ordered: mint lemonade, the meatballs in marinara bread with ricotta cheese, the animal lover's calzone, the black magic lasagna, and the Tiramisu. I cannot overstate how insanely good the bread with ricotta cheese was. After one bite, I looked up and told my girlfriend this is the best vegan ricotta cheese I've ever had without a shadow of doubt. The meatballs were perfect for what they were, however I would not particularly recommend them as you can find plant based meatballs in marinara sauce anywhere. Stick to the unique items. The black magic lasagna was outrageously unique in flavor. If you love lasagna, but are looking for something different, it is an absolute must and worth the stomach space. A truffle lover's delight hands down. The tiramisu was not just moist: it was wet and gooey. A lovely take on the dessert and cannot wait to order it again in the future. Finally, the calzone was the star of the show and simply extraordinary. You would have no idea that it was plant-based, and it was huge: twice as large as expected. I cannot recommend this restaurant more to BOTH vegans and non-vegans

Food soooo good you forget it's vegan!! I make a point of trying new menu items each time but my heart belongs to the "asada" bowl. Add chips and guac to that and it's *chef's kiss. Plus they're super pet friendly and have suuuch cute decor!

This hidden gem makes great food and even better desserts cakes and flan all vegan, which tastes like actual thing best vegan cake I have ever had. K-flavor is spot on for the Korean chicken shops. The texture and flavor fooled this non vegan eater. I thought I was really eating chicken but was vegan. My vegan friend said it was amazing.

YouTube, Instagram, tiktok and food bloggers unite! Everybody's talking about Roots Indian cafe. The praise is high, so I had to check it out for myself. Does it stand up to the hype? Yes it does. This family run bistro opened in 2021, during the height of the pandemic, and they survived! (that earns four stars alone, in my book). But Roots did not just survive the pandemic, they excelled, and now they are thriving. In addition to the standard Indian fare, they also have an eclectic mix of Indian and local SoCal dishes. If you want to go with a traditional meal, they have that. If you are feeling adventurous and you want to mix it up, they can do that too. Roots merges culinary cultures to create some very unique dishes. I've tried two of the 'Roots Rarities' and they were excellent.Vindaloo Dumplings (Kurobuta pork, ginger, green onion, zesty paprika curry, pickled chilis). Dosa Quesadilla (Smoked tomato, grilled onions, cheese, gunpowder masala, pumpkin salsa, coconut lentils). Many more specialty dishes are available so I will have to keep coming back to try them all. I also went for several of the traditional Indian dishes. Samosas - stuffed w/ potatoes, peas, spices. Chicken Masala, Chana Masala, Papadums. Everything I've had is delicious. The service is excellent and the owners and staff, frequently check on their guests. You can tell they care about their customers and take great pride in the food they serve. To me, Roots represents the best the LA Culinary Culture has to offer. They are unique, stylish, welcoming and delicious. Four Thumbs up for Roots Indian Bistro.

This place is so cute and the coffee is sooooo good. I got an iced lavender latte plus they had a cherry almond muffin which was to die for. I think they maybe only had it for Valentine's Day. But I also got the avocado toast and omg it was amazing. PLUS, they are so nice and the service is great!

4/5 cheap Japanese comfort food at its finest. Walked here during Broadway Night Lights, so surrounding streets were fairly activated. Honestly not sure id otherwise venture here by foot as Main St and the surrounding streets are relatively sketchy. Case in point there was a transient man sleeping at the inoperable back entrance to the restaurant. Now the actual review:Prices were 100% right. Really reasonably priced food for Los Angeles. Menu is a bit off intimidating if you're used to super Americanized Japanese food as there are some more traditional, less popularized items on the menu. Service is quick and friendly. They don't seem to be overly pushy but they are very popular and clearly want to turn tables. Or actually recommend reservations for this place even though it's pretty casual. We had the beef hayashi rice and the shrimp tempura set. Both meals came with some wonderfully warming miso soup. The beef hayashi rice was simple yet complex. Comforting is the word is through at this one as well. It's just tender shredded beef cooked in an umami yet slightly sweet brown gravy with mushrooms and onions played over steamed white rice. Not much else going on but it felt really good for the soul. We added a fried egg to the dish and which I'd say is a must. Adds an extra layer to an otherwise fairly simple and straightforward dish. We also ordered the shrimp tempura set which consisted of 5 whole fried tempura battered shrimp, tempura carrot, tempura green bean, tempura eggplant, and tempura kabocha with a cabbage salad, picked vegetables and macaroni salad and a side of rice. The dish was served with a side of grated ginger and dipping tendon sauce. This was a lot of food. I barely touched the rice. I'd say the quality was higher than your average Japanese takeout but certainly lower than Carlos Tendon Jr in Torrance which id say is the LA tempura gold standard. Maybe an unfair comparison as I had Carlos Tendon earlier in the week? The variety of this plate which included the fat cutting pickled veggies and salad was appreciated when compared to the simpler more one note hiyashi rice. Overall really enjoyed this place and would frequent regularly if it was in a slightly less sketchy neighborhood.

Veggie House is the best vegan thai in the area! I've been coming here for 5 years and they are consistently delicious. Great prices, portions and soo tasty. The wontons, orange chicken and the chow mein are my go-tos but I've tried most everything on the menu and I've never been disappointed.

The butter chicken is really good! Service was good since we had a big group but the food was delicious. There was a lot of space inside and out to sit and I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the area.

"Love this place Everything is great! I usually get the green curry and the crispy roll."
"This was the BEST tiramisu I've ever had. I would make the 1-hour drive here again just for that. However, Civico is primarily known for its scratch-made pasta which was perfectly al dente for both dishes we tried: linguine vongole e bottarga and shrimp ravioli. The shrimp ravioli was one of the daily specials along with the potato croquette so don't forget to ask them about it when you visit. To deliver an authentic Calabrian experience, our water added fresh Calabrian chili to both our pasta dishes which really elevated the flavor by adding a slight kick and tanginess. I could not get enough of the focaccia. They serve complimentary bread with pesto as you sit down and I love that it came in a brown paper bag for some reason. It seemed super fresh and made it easy to take to-go if you needed to. That was not a problem for us though because we ate everything. I so badly wanted to buy some focaccia to take home for myself later because of how good it was but it wasn't an item you could order... I think. The burrata e prosciutto appetizer was underwhelming. The burrata was unusually tangy and almost sour when it usually had a mild, delicate flavor. It came with a variety of different fruits though which made it fun to eat. Also, if you're vegan, they have a whole menu dedicated to you and, although I didn't try it myself, I heard they don't compromise on flavor. The service here was amazing. They always asked if we were doing okay and refilled our waters when needed. We also ended up having a hair in our tiramisu and they were very apologetic about it and offered to switch it out for us."
"Picked up food here after a long evening and the pick up process was smooth. Though the area is in a small plaza and parking could be difficult, may get lucky to park right outside! Prices are good and mostly vegetarian."
"So I have been coming here for a while and I forgot that I have not left a review yet. This is the best Ethiopian food that you will get. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a beautiful Aroma of spices. From the friendly staff to the amazing food, you will definitely leave happy.Oh and if you drink wine do yourself a favor and get their honey wine it is amazing"
"Great spot for good happy hour deals! Drinks are priced well and HH food is tasty. Burgers, wings, tacos, fries - everything I've had here is good. Atmosphere is always fun and lively. Service is pretty limited as you seat yourself and order/pay through a QR code, but I've always had a good time here! The waiters who bring your food by are friendly and happy to help if you have any special requests. They even helped us put on a specific NHL game when we visited, so we really appreciated that. Will be back for future HH's for sure!"
"It's been a hot minute since I've been here to get my fix. Looks like they closed the walk in area to expand their kitchen. Now it's just a walk up window to order but they have a deal with the small diner next door if you'd still like to sit inside to eat. The food menu that was posted seemedthe same but I couldn't find a drink list posted. Ended up on their Yelp and requested a few drinks that apparently are no longer offered. No matcha or lavender lattes offered anymore. The EARL GREY COOKIE was a good slightly crunchy cookie on the outside but soft and chewy in the middle. Super tasty! As for my favorite CHILAQUILES BURRITO, it seemed a bit different than I remember. Maybe it's just me though. It comes in vegan and vegetarian!"
"Nice, quiet farmhouse vibe. Service was great and staff were friendly. Best Vegan food I've had in LA. We will return again to try more of the menu."
"This is my second time ordering from this restaurant (via Grubhub) and I am sold! Ordered the tempura, the spicy chicken legs and the fries and I'm absolutely stuffed and couldn't even finish all of the food! The portions are really ample. Everything tasted just as good as it did the first time so I definitely want to let them know that they have a repeat customer."
"This place was such a gem. Found on instagram and made almost an hour drive. Was not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was beyond excellent. Will be coming back for more."
"Unique small business in the heart of East Hollywood! Super friendly couple running the joint with lots of positive vibes. Armenian espresso drinks, pastries of all sorts and breakfast items like burritos and "egg" sandwiches. There are a few tables inside and I believe one or so outside. Wasn't too busy around noon so my friend and I had no issue finding a spot to enjoy our treats. I got a vanilla latte with cold foam and a breakfast burrito. The burrito came with an avocado crema but the burrito was flavorful on its own; did not need it but a fun addition! Lots of people picking up takeout so if you can't make it here at the moment try UberEats and Postmates. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back here to try their apple danish-type pastry and other goodies. Recommend to stop by if you're in the area and looking to try something new!"
"I came here with my mom after work with our dog and had a wonderful time. We sat outside because we brought our dog, and the server was so kind and gave our dog her own water bowl to drink! We each got our own ramen and it was delicious! The broth was delicious and incredibly tasty. The food came at a reasonable time and the noodles were extremely fresh and the right texture! I got the newest ramen that they came out with which was chicken as there meat along with shrimp. My mom got the Spicy GARNET (miso). Overall great place and the staff were amazing and very nice. We plan to stop by and eat again if we are in the area!"
"I came here with friend before a WDisney concert hall concert on a Sunday afternoon. We had a lunch reservation. I had the veggie pho and the Eggrolls. The Eggrolls were very good and the pho broth was flavorful. I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. The restroom was not clean despite being one of the first customers of the day and also there was a long strand of hair on my chair. Ambience is chic and trendy however. Thus my four star rating would turn into five if they improved the hygiene of the restaurant"
"Don't listen to Marc H. This place is the BEST! I got the merguez sandwich and it was soooooooooOooOo delicious. Generous amount of meat and a really nice tangy pickle and lemon juice on it. My friend got the falafel wrap and she loves this place. Also got a side of fries that were perfectly seasoned and crispy! 10/10 can't wait to go back and try something else!Friendly people too :)"
"Best in town hands down. I don't understand how this place doesn't have a line out the door. I've been here twice. This place is awesome. The customer service is great. My burger tasted really delicious. I like how the fries are thinly cut. They taste really good also. If this place was near my home, I'd eat here weekly. Ambiance is minimal, clean and simple. Overall it's a really nice place! Highly recommend it."
"The best Thai food I've had in a long while and it's vegetarian at that. Bonus for my plant based friends. If you have never tried their corn fritters, you're really missing out. They are huge, crispy, and just have amazing flavor. I hear they are even better with sweet and sour sauce so I'll need to try that next time. $10 and this yummy appetizer is vegan.Their pad thai has excellent flavor, better than a lot of places I've tried in the city. Perfect noodles and accompaniments. My only small gripe is the tofu in the pad thai was huge. For most people, I'm sure they'd love a big ol' inch by inch piece. I like the smaller pieces, so just personal preference.I actually have never had Mee Krob before and ended up loving it from Bulan Thai. The vermicelli was so crispy and whatever that house sauce is that they're tossed in, *chef's kiss*! So darn good. Thai Iced Coffee is nice and sweet for a little treat, as well.So to sum up, I had delivery from Bulan Thai and loved it. I would def try them again and venture into more of the menu."
"I just enjoyed this vegan alkaline Brownie with Walnuts that was refreshingly delicious with organic Ginger tea sweetened by organic blue agave!! Great top level service with a wonderful way to start the day!! Come and enjoy a great selection of fresh and healthy delights!!"
"Usually, when I go to a restaurant, I measure the quality based on how well I would be able to replicate their food. I'm not the best cook out there but I can hold my own. Green Leaves is capable of concocting something I never would be able to conceive in my wildest dreams. The thought of Vegan is not so appealing to me, but what Green Leaves is able to achieve in their food is beyond my comprehension.Their fried chicken skewers taste like chicken, and have the crispiest, most delicious texture to them. They also do a PHENOMENAL job with the curry. I can do Thai food at home, but this is an experience worth traveling for. My father is vegetarian. If I ever go to LA with him, I'm bringing him here."
"Ok this place is such a cute little gem. Immediately feels like your family is hosting you for dinner! The Thai iced tea is perfect. The wonton chips and dips are so so good. Tom kha soup was divine. It was my first time here and I can't wait to come back! Make sure to ask for Sofia. She'll take the best care of you"
"Review 1 of 2025I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but I love exploring and trying different delicious type of Vegan cuisines with my family. My family made the reservation to celebrate New Year's Eve for lunch. We ordered several appetizers and entrees. There are some not pictured.I ordered Pumpkin Curry with Mixed Green Salad, and a heart shaped Japanese Rice. My protein choice was Beefless with medium spice. The curry flavor is similar to Panang Curry. Customer Service was fantastic. Everything at this restaurant is above and beyond and was delicious and very flavorful. For the dessert, we all loved the Banana Spring Rolls. Ambiance is nice and clean.Parking is very small, and you may need to find a spot somewhere on the street near by."
"While in Hollywood to see a friend perform, I was walking to my car and spotted an Indian Restaurant I was not familiar with so I looked it up on Yelp (as I always do) and decided to give it a try. It was a small place with a handful of booths. There weren't many customers but it was also a little early for most people to have dinner. When the employee came out to seat me, I was shocked to see that it was Sahan. I knew him from my favorite Indian restaurant in Studio City where he used to be a server. It turns out he left that restaurant to open his own place. Lucky me!The menu contained many of the usual items you'd find at any Indian restaurant. But it also contained several items that were a mashup of Indian and Mexican foods, something I'd never seen before. But I chose to stay traditional and order some of my favorites. I chose the Samosas, Chicken Jalfrezi and Garlic Naan. The Samosas were delicious. They were filled with the usual mix of potato, peas and spices in a crispy, triangular dough and accompanied by the usual tamarind based sauce and a cilantro based sauce. The Chicken Jalfrezi lived up to my expectations and was cooked in a tomatoey sauce with onions, bell peppers, serrano chiles and a hint of ginger. I've had this dish in many restaurants and their version is one of my top two favorites. The naan was fantastic and had a nice char on it. Sahan surprised me with rice pudding for dessert which was a nice finish to the meal.I am beyond excited to have found this place. I'm often in this area and will be returning on a regular basis. Sahan is the ultimate host and provided excellent service and I look forward to returning so I can try some of the Indi-Mex mashups in addition to the more traditional offerings. Great job Sahan!!"
